For I Bear in My Body the Marks of the Lord Jesus

In this Sabbath lesson from Israel Church of the Firstborn in Indianapolis, Brother Obadiah teaches on Galatians 6:17, from henceforth let no man trouble me, for I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus. The lesson traces those marks from Old Testament prophecy, through the scourging and piercing of Jesus, the warning he gave his disciples beforehand, the beating of the apostles in Jerusalem, and the stripes, shipwrecks, and thorn in the flesh that Paul carried for preaching the gospel. Every passage is read in the King James Version.

1.The Marks Foretold

Brother Obadiah opens in Zechariah the twelfth chapter, showing that centuries before Jesus was born, the prophet already wrote of the piercing he would suffer.

Zechariah 12:10 KJV

10And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.

"They shall look upon me whom they have pierced. So what is that telling you? This is Jesus that's speaking through the mouth of Zechariah. The Father was never pierced. It was the Son that came and died for the sins of the people."

He then turns to Psalms 22, read as Jesus speaking through the mouth of David long before the crucifixion.

Psalms 22:14-16 KJV

14I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint: my heart is like wax; it is melted in the midst of my bowels.

15My strength is dried up like a potsherd; and my tongue cleaveth to my jaws; and thou hast brought me into the dust of death.

16For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet.

"This is Jesus praying, speaking through the mouth of David. They pierced my hands and my feet. Before Zechariah said it, David said it first. We're going to talk about these marks, because if it was not for these marks, none of us would have a chance at salvation."

2.Wounded for Our Transgressions

From Isaiah the fifty-third chapter, the lesson shows the suffering servant who would be despised, rejected, and stricken though he had done no wrong.

Isaiah 53:3-5 KJV

3He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.

4Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.

5But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

"He was wounded for our transgressions, and he was bruised for our iniquities. That's how you cast out devils, through his blood. You get deliverance through his blood. You get saved through his blood. By these stripes we are healed."

"Let's take a little pause for the cause. The stripes were severe lacerations and bruises caused by Roman scourging, agonizing strikes designed to tear deep into the flesh and bone. Before he was crucified, he was given thirty-nine stripes from a flagrum, a brutal multi-thonged leather whip embedded with sharp pieces of bone, metal, and iron."

3.Sent Out as Sheep Among Wolves

Before any of it happened, Jesus warned the twelve disciples what following him would cost. In Matthew the tenth chapter, he sends them out and tells them plainly what to expect.

St. Matthew 10:16-20 KJV

16Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.

17But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to the councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues;

18And ye shall be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them and the Gentiles.

19But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak.

20For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you.

"That's how you are, sheep in the midst of wolves. These wolves are going to try to bite you, try to kill you, try to scourge you. He's already telling them what to beware of before he sends them out. You don't have to sit and rehearse what you're going to say. The only thing the Lord wants you to do is read the book, give it to the people, and sit down when you're done."

In Mark the tenth chapter, Jesus tells the twelve exactly what is about to happen to him, and asks James and John whether they can drink of the same cup.

St. Mark 10:33-34 KJV

33Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be delivered unto the chief priests, and unto the scribes; and they shall condemn him to death, and shall deliver him to the Gentiles:

34And they shall mock him, and shall scourge him, and shall spit upon him, and shall kill him: and the third day he shall rise again.

St. Mark 10:38-39 KJV

38But Jesus said unto them, Ye know not what ye ask: can ye drink of the cup that I drink of? and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?

39And they said unto him, We can. And Jesus said unto them, Ye shall indeed drink of the cup that I drink of; and with the baptism that I am baptized withal shall ye be baptized:

"This cup represents suffering. This cup represents bloodshed. This cup represents rejection. You think Jesus is turning them down, but he's actually telling them, I know you're going to do it. You shall indeed drink of the cup that I drink of, and I also know that you guys are going to fulfill the mission."

4.Every Stripe Before the Cross

In John the nineteenth chapter, the lesson walks through the scourging itself, the crown of thorns, and the mocking, before Jesus carried his own cross to be crucified.

St. John 19:1-3 KJV

1Then Pilate therefore took Jesus, and scourged him.

2And the soldiers platted a crown of thorns, and put it on his head, and they put on him a purple robe,

3And said, Hail, King of the Jews! and they smote him with their hands.

"This is where they tied him up to that little tree, bent him over, and took that whip and started brutally beating him on the back. This was the scourging. They had already beat him until his bones and his flesh were wide open, dripping with blood. Think about who died on the cross for you."

5.Pierced, and the Blood and Water Came Out

After Jesus was dead, a soldier pierced his side with a spear, fulfilling what Zechariah had written and giving, in his teaching, a sign meant to be believed.

St. John 19:34-37 KJV

34But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water.

35And he that saw it bare record, and his record is true: and he knoweth that he saith true, that ye might believe.

36For these things were done, that the scripture should be fulfilled, A bone of him shall not be broken.

37And again another scripture saith, They shall look on him whom they pierced.

1 John 5:6-8 KJV

6This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth.

7For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

8And there are three that bear witness in earth, the spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.

"He isn't saying anything about this being some God. He said there are three that bear record, that means I witness it, I was there, I seen it, that's what bear record is. All of these piercings, they pierced his hands and his feet, that was blood. This was going to prove that he was the Christ, the Messiah."

6.The Apostles' Turn to Suffer

The lesson then shows that the same persecution Jesus described came to pass exactly as he said. In Acts the fifth chapter, the apostles are beaten and commanded not to preach in Jesus' name.

Acts 5:40-42 KJV

40And to him they agreed: and when they had called the apostles, and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.

41And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name.

42And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.

"After they got beat, that didn't stop them from preaching the gospel, because Jesus had already warned them what they were going to have to go through for serving him. When you are being persecuted for righteousness' sake, they were just glad to be found worthy to suffer with Jesus."

Saul, who consented to the killing of believers and made havoc of the church, is confronted by Jesus on the road to Damascus, and the Lord tells Ananias exactly what Paul's calling will cost him.

Acts 9:15-16 KJV

15But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:

16For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name's sake.

"This guy committed murder, he was there when Stephen got killed, but the Lord still used him. The Lord will choose people to deal with certain situations, the way he chose Job because he knew Job could handle it. He chose Paul to show Paul how much he must suffer for his name's sake."

7.Paul's Marks: In Stripes Above Measure

The lesson closes with Paul's own catalog of what he suffered for preaching Christ. In First Corinthians the fourth chapter, he contrasts his suffering with the comfort of the Corinthian believers.

1 Corinthians 4:9-13 KJV

9For I think that God hath set forth us the apostles last, as it were appointed to death: for we are made a spectacle unto the world, and to angels, and to men.

10We are fools for Christ's sake, but ye are wise in Christ; we are weak, but ye are strong; ye are honourable, but we are despised.

11Even unto this present hour we both hunger, and thirst, and are naked, and are buffeted, and have no certain dwellingplace;

12And labour, working with our own hands: being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we suffer it:

13Being defamed, we intreat: we are made as the filth of the world, and are the offscouring of all things unto this day.

"These guys were actually beaten for what they believed in. A lot of us just have to deal with a little lip service, people talking about us, but these guys were beaten down for it. I write not these things to shame you, but as my beloved sons I warn you, this is what's going to happen to the true believers in the Lord."

In Second Corinthians the eleventh chapter, Paul lists what he carried in his own body: forty stripes save one, five times over, beaten with rods, stoned, shipwrecked, and betrayed even by false brethren.

2 Corinthians 11:23-27 KJV

23Are they ministers of Christ? (I speak as a fool) I am more; in labours more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequent, in deaths oft.

24Of the Jews five times received I forty stripes save one.

25Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day I have been in the deep;

26In journeyings often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils by mine own countrymen, in perils by the heathen, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren;

27In weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness.

"Rods, that means they're all standing over you, beating you with a stick. In perils among false brethren, people are going to come in like they're your brother or your sister, and then turn around and break covenant with you and run away from you. All of this these people went through for the word of God."

He also carried a thorn in the flesh the Lord would not remove.

2 Corinthians 12:7-10 KJV

7And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.

8For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me.

9And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

10Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

"When you think everything is going wrong, that's really when you're at your strongest. When the flesh fails, the spirit prevails. When you're at your wits' end and you can't go anymore, that's really when you're at your strongest."

In Galatians the second chapter, Paul says the marks of Christ's crucifixion had become his own identity.

Galatians 2:20 KJV

20I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

"How are you going to be crucified with Christ? You weren't up there dying with him. But he's got the same marks in him that Christ had."

And in Galatians the sixth chapter, Paul finally states the title of the lesson outright.

Galatians 6:16-17 KJV

16And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be on them, and mercy, and upon the Israel of God.

17From henceforth let no man trouble me: for I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus.

"We finally got down to the title of the lesson. Paul got beaten five times, forty stripes save one. If you've been whipped with the things they whipped him with, your back doesn't look the same. That's the reason Paul said, for I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus, spiritually and physically, and he wasn't by himself."

Closing Word

Revelation 6:9-11 KJV

9And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:

10And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?

11And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.

"How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth. We're going to be avenged too, how we got whooped and beaten, how people treat us because we are true believers in the Lord. So when the Lord comes back, he's going to avenge his servants. Keep living. One day you're going to get a white robe."

Brother Obadiah closed by reminding the class that the true servants of God do not go unavenged, and that until that day the only thing left to do is keep praying, keep living, and keep bearing whatever marks come with telling the truth.

SI God shall send forth God shall send forth his truth his his mercy his truth his truth his truth and his mercy in Jesus name we pray in Amen.

Amen. Okay y'all, as usual we going to proceed to turn to Leviticus the like I say I've been around last week we've been doing a little a little small little fundraiser for the class so we've been able to get around and talk to more people about the Sabbath day sisters and brothers see one thing that we got to understand and be merciful to the people about not everybody knows understand the knowledge that we have. Sisters and brothers, I asked a couple of brothers this week uh because I got a little a little a little car thing that I have that I kind of roll around with.

So, I had two brothers around me. And the first thing that I asked them, I said, "Okay, y'all, what's the what's the Ten Commandments? Give me the first thing that's in the Ten Commandments." Did you know nobody didn't know nothing about it at all? They didn't know, sisters and brothers. So one thing that we got to understand and stop assuming is everybody knows what we know and we got to be merciful and we got to understand that we standing in the gap of Jesus.

And when you stand in the gap of Jesus, what was the thing that Jesus came to do? He came to teach the people, sisters and brothers. So being that Jesus is sitting on the right hand of the father, he left us behind to do his work. So what do we have to do? We have to suffer with the people and we have to teach the people what the true and living Sabbath day is. What God true holy day truly is, sisters and brothers. So we want everybody to turn to Leviticus the 23rd chapter.

Leviticus 23 and we going to read verses 1 through3. When you get there, my beautiful beloved elder, go ahead and read. And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, "Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them concerning the feast of the Lord, go ahead. Which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations." So notice what he said right here. He said, "These are holy convocations, sisters and brothers." Holy convocation is a holy gathering.

And that's when the Lord want us to come together and deal with his word, sisters and brothers. So now go ahead and read. Even these are my feast. Go ahead. Six days shall work be done. So notice what he said here. He said six days shall work be done sisters and brothers. And that is from Sunday to Friday. Once Friday come, everybody's work needs to cease now. So he says six days shall work be done. Go ahead and read.

But the seventh day is the Sabbath of rest. Go ahead. And holy convocation. And you need this rest, sisters and brothers. That's what this day is for. This day is for you to rest, to get refreshed from all of the things that that you had to deal with this week. All of the burdens that you had to carry. This is the day to get you away from that, sisters and brothers. And that seventh day, which man calls Saturday, which Satan got the whole world tripping on.

And that's why we can't get people to come to church on Saturday at gunpoint. Why? Because they've been deceived, sisters and brothers. So a lot of people don't know when these days is. But the Lord said, "Six days shall work be done, but the seventh day is a Sabbath of rest, a holy convocation." Go ahead and read. You shall do no work therein. It is the Sabbath of the Lord in all your dwellings. It is the Sabbath of the Lord in all of your dwellings.

That means you ain't got to be in Jerusalem to keep this day. He knew that Israel was going to get scattered. So now let's go and see what the Messiah did. When we take everybody else to the side and you call yourself a Christian and you say that you going to be Christlike because that's what Christ is. We going to deal with Christ exclusively today. So if you going to deal with Christ, then you got to live like Christ.

You got to walk like Christ. You got to talk like Christ. So let's show you what Christ did. So now let's go to St. Luke the 4th chapter. Let's show you what his custom was now and what day that he went into the synagogue on. So, let's go to St. Luke the 4th chapter, St. Luke 4. And we going to pick it let's pick it up at let's pick it up at verse 13. Let's pick it up at verse 13 because see we fasting today. And one thing that we understand is fasting cause affliction sisters and brothers.

Once Jesus got through fasting, he learned in the power of spirit. And that's what our goal is. So when you make these sacrifices for the Lord, you want also come within the power of the spirit as well. Because see that's one thing that God gives you. He gives you power, sisters and brothers. He gives you confidence. That's why he tell you don't cast away your confidence. But now let's pick it up at verse 13. Go ahead and read.

And when the devil had ended all the temptation, go ahead. He departed from him for a season. I'm reading this for a reason now because he going to always come back. Once you get past of dealing with one thing, you going to have something else on your table that you going to have to deal with. That is just a fact of life. So when Satan, he had got through tempting Jesus, this wasn't the only time that he tempted him.

That means that he came back and tempted Jesus again. But at this time, he had departed from Jesus for a season. So now verse 14, go ahead. And Jesus returned in the power of the spirit into Galilee. Go ahead. And there went out a fame of him through all the regions round about. And he taught in the synagogues being glorified of all. And he came to Nazareth where he had been brought up. And as his custom was like we like to point out what his custom was.

His custom was like a ritual. It was like his way of life. This what he did. Now this was what his custom was. So what was his custom? Go ahead. He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day. Go ahead. And stood up for it to read. And he stood up for to read on the Sabbath day, sisters and brothers, the true and living Sabbath. That day that is a sign between God and his people. So I want to praise the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

And peace to everyone here in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. I want to say happy Sabbath to my Indianapolis family. And also I want to say happy Sabbath to our Cincinnati family. We know that you watching. We also want to say happy Sabbath to you as well. And also those that's watching us via live, Facebook and YouTube live. We are glad to have you with us today. And we also want to say happy Sabbath to you as well.

So also we want to give a round of applause for the brotherhood and the sisterhood. And also I want to say happy fourth month Judah Judah fast because that's what the fourth month is. The fourth one represent Judah. They tell you that it's tamuz in the Bible. But when you I mean off that's what the tell you. But when you look at the fourth month, the fourth month is Judah. So we want everybody to have a happy fast and take all your troubles and take all your petitions and all your prayers to the Lord.

Amen. So also I want to give out because we a little thy here today. We want to we want to tell Mother Terry we love you. We want to give you a round of applause. We know you dealing with a leg situation right now, but that's the day that we are fasting. We going to pray for that today. And also the young line Josh, we know we we know that you out. We know you a little sick. We know that you will be here with the uh with the kids.

So we also want to wish you also a speed of recovery. And also, brother Malcolm, we know you're not here today as well next Saturday. So we want to get right into the lesson today, sisters and brothers, because we got a real serious lesson. The Lord put this on my mind this week because see I was reading off in the book of Galatian. And it was a title that stuck out to me real hard. And what we going to talk about today, sisters and brothers, we going to talk a little bit about persecution.

But we going to talk about the way that Jesus died on the cross. See, we all know the story. We going to read a little bit about this story today. But one thing you got to understand, sisters and brothers, that when Jesus died on the cross, every whip that he got hit with, every time he got struck, every time he bleed, when they pierced him, sisters and brothers, that was for your freedom, that was for your salvation, that was for your peace.

All of the blood that Jesus has shed, not only did he tell you to come up under the blood, when he left the blood of his New Testament, he left you power to cast out illnesses. He left you power to cast out devils through what? Through his blood, sisters and brothers. But one thing you gonna understand that the real servants of God, which we don't have to deal with some of the things that we going to read about today, because see the apostles and the disciples that walked around and preached Jesus, they was actually beat for it, sisters and brothers.

They was beat down. And one thing about the the the people that's really telling the truth, they ain't going to have no big crowd around them. Ain't nobody gonna want to follow him and everybody gonna hate them. It's kind of bad when you know that you're the good guy, but you was looked at as the bad guy and the people that are the bad people are the people that's looked at as being good. But you going to show that, sisters and brothers.

So the title of this lesson is for I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus. For I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus. So we going to show you that we got this title straight out of the book, sisters and brothers. But the people that serve the Lord, these are also spiritual marks that some of us have to carry today. But we going to show you the actual physical marks that these guys had to deal with. See, when Jesus got pierced in his hands and pierced in his feet, we going to show you what those marks mean, sisters and brothers.

Those marks was great, though. Because if it was not for that, would none of us be able to get salvation today, sisters and brothers? And we going to show you that these apostles was beaten so bad that they also carried marks, scars from being beat for doing what? For teaching the word of God. Sisters and brothers. And that's one thing you got to understand about the true believers of the Lord. Ain't nobody going to like you because they did not like Jesus.

So you might as well get used to it. But now, title of the lesson once again, for I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus. and we gonna show you exactly what he meant about this, sisters and brothers. But now, let's start this lesson off in Zechariah 12th chapter. Zechariah 12. We going to take you a little bit into the future now because Zechariah was one of the last prophets to write the book. And he wrote about the coming of the Lord, sisters and brothers.

But he also wrote about all of the things that Jesus had to deal with when he was here. And we going to show you that Jesus was beat. We going to show you that Peter was beat. We gonna show you that Paul and James and John, all of them people got beef for keeping the word of God. That means that they actually shed blood for the beliefs that they held, sisters and brothers. So now let's go to Zechariah the 12th chapter.

Zechariah 12. And we going to pick it up at verse one. We going to deal with Jesus first now. So let's show you all of the beatings and the blood and all of the meat that was peeled off of his body just because he came to die for our sin. Sisters and brothers, let's go to Zechariah 12 and we going to pick it up at verse one. Zechariah 12 and 1. When you get there, my beautiful beloved elder, go ahead and read the burden of the word of the Lord for Israel sayaith the Lord.

Go ahead. And stretches forth the heavens. Go ahead. And layth the foundation of the earth. So notice who said this now because see you got science out here and science is out here to disprove the Bible. That's what they came up with signs for. So when when you have people that was out here like Charles Darwin that try to say that the world came from a big bang theory, those that have true faith in God, we understand that that is not the case because we understand that the very word the very world that you are standing on was made by the one that died on the cross.

So they said the burden of the word of the Lord for is now said the Lord which the heavens and laid the foundations of the earth. Go ahead and read. And forth the spirit of man within him. Go ahead. Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about. So notice what he said now. He said, I'm going to make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all of the people round about. Sisters and brothers, go ahead and read.

And when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem, go ahead. And in that day will I make Jerusalem over burdens and stone for all people. All that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces. So all the people of the earth be gathered together against. See this how we know sisters and brothers that this is in the future now because we already know that Jerusalem was going to get destroyed in 70 AD.

But the key words in this verse he said all of the people of the earth is is going to be gathered against Jerusalem. sisters and brothers and they going to meet Jesus down in the valley of Megadoo and also called the valley of Jehoshaphat and that's where we know that Jesus is going to kill. So he going to get all nations and he going to gather them together now. So what else did he say in verse four? Go ahead and read.

In that day said the Lord, I will smite every horse with astonishment and his riot with madness. Go ahead. And I will open mine eyes upon the house of Judah. Go ahead. and will and will smite all every horse of the people with blind. I mean, he going to even blind the people. See, when Jesus come back, you got to realize you going to have flesh and blood that's going to be fighting against spirit. So, when you have these spirit beings here, it's going to be a little different than things that's going to be on the earth, sisters and brothers.

So, they going to be doing miraculous things that we never seen. So what he said? He said, "I will open mine eyes upon the house of Judah and will spite every horse of the people with blindness." But now what else did he say at verse five? Go ahead. And the governors of Judah shall say in their heart, Go ahead. The inhabitants of Jerusalem shall be my strength in the Lord of hosts their God. Go ahead. In that day, will I make the governors of Judah like hearth a fire among the woods?

Go ahead. And like the torch of fire in his se. So that's how it's going to be with Jesus sitting on the throne. Sisters and brothers, you going to have the God of the entire earth. You going to have the omnipotent God that's going to be sitting in Jerusalem. So Jerusalem ain't going to be no play thing at this time. Now he's saying all of the people that's going to come against Jerusalem is going to be like fire and they going to be like the heat, sisters and brothers or like a sheath rather.

But now keep reading. Go ahead. And they shall devour all the people round about on the right hand and on the left. Go ahead. and Jerusalem shall be inhabited again in her own place, even in Jerusalem. Can't you boy, I can't wait for that day to happen, sisters and brothers. Can you imagine one day when we won't be living in Indianapolis no more? One day when we go back home, we going to see the Lord firsthand. We going to see the land firsthand.

We going to see how the land grows crops, how it bring rain. We going to see all of that when we go home. We ain't going to have to imagine it in our minds no more because we going to see it with our very eyes. But now verse seven, go ahead. The Lord also shall save the tents of Judah first. He gonna save the tent of Judah first. Now because he said in his word that unto Judah shall the gathering of the people be. So he he said the Lord also shall save the tents of Judah first.

Go ahead and read. That the glory of the house of David and the glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, Go ahead. do not magnify themselves against Judah. Go ahead. In that day shall the Lord defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem. And he that is feeble among them at that day shall be as David. Wait a minute. Now you going to have a man that's feeble. He ain't known. He don't have nothing at all now. But he said he that is feeble among them at that day shall be as David.

We did a lesson on David one time. So we all know that David was a king after God's own heart. So at this time you going have the people that's weak, people that's feeble, people that don't have no ship in the Lord. At this time they going to be just as strong as David, sisters and brothers, because he going to pour his spirit out on the inhabitants of Jerusalem. And we going to read that. Go ahead and read. And the house of David shall be as God as the angel of the Lord before them.

And it shall come to pass in that day that I will speak to the church all the nations that come Jerusalem. Go ahead. And I will pour upon the upon the house of David and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem the spirit of grace. That's what he going to give us. See, grace is a spirit, sisters and brothers. Yes, sir. He said, I'm going to pour upon them the spirit of grace. Go ahead and read. And of supplications. And of supplications.

But now notice what's going to happen when we see the Lord. Go ahead and read. and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced and they shall mourn for them. They gonna mourn for him. Sisters and brothers, just project your mind in time. Now you see Jesus sitting on the cross and you going to know that he said they going to look upon me whom they had pierced. So what is that telling you that this is Jesus that's speaking through the mouth of Zachchariah sisters and brothers?

He said they shall look upon me whom they have pierced. See the father was never pierced. It was the son that came and died for the sins of the people. And then it said they gonna mourn for him. Sisters and brothers, when we all be outside and we see Jesus sitting on the throne, it ain't going to be a dry eye in the house. Everybody going to be crying for the way that they treated Jesus. Go ahead and read. As one mourning for his only son.

Go ahead. They shall be in bitterness for him. We going to be in bitterness for Go ahead and read. As one that is in bitterness for his firstborn. Go ahead. In that day shall there be a great morning in Jerusalem. So he said in that day there shall be a great morning in Jerusalem. Now go ahead and read as the morning of the valley of in the valley of Mod. We do that is where the Lord is going to do all of his killing.

Sisters and brothers, but they shall look upon me who they So now let's go to Psalms 22. Let's go to Psalms 22. We going to talk about Jesus first. Now we going to talk about we going to talk about the marker. He said, "I bury my body the marks of the Lord Jesus." That means that he followed Christ fully now, but then he going to get his own marks as well. And we going to show you that. Like I said, we going to get to Paul and the apostles a little bit later, but let's deal with Jesus first.

Yes, sir. Let's go to Psalms 22. Psalms 22. and we gonna pick it up at verse 11. Psalms 22 and we gonna pick it up at verse 11. 22 and we gonna pick it up at verse 11. When you get there, go ahead, Elder. Be not far from me, for trouble is near. That's what So, now this is Jesus praying. Now, this Jesus speaking through the mouth of David. He said, "Be not far from me, for trouble is near." Go ahead and read. For there is none to help.

For there is none to help. There wasn't going to be no man that was going to deliver Jesus out of what the scribes and the Pharisees and the Romans was getting ready to do for him at that time. There was no man on earth that was going to h that was going to help him. Now the only person that was helping him was the father. So now verse 12 go ahead. Many bulls have compassion. He said many bulls have compreh have been around.

These bulls are not talking about an actual bull. These bulls in this case is talking about people, sisters and brothers. He is talking about people. So all other people they had compassed Jesus round about. And we going to show you that this ain't no bull because we know can't no bull talk. So what did they say at verse 13? Go ahead and read. They g upon me with their mouth. He said they gave upon me with their mouths.

Go ahead. As raving and a roaring line. Go ahead. I am poured out like water. Go ahead. And all my bones are out of joint. That's how and I I am poured out like water. He said and all my bones are out of joint. Go ahead and read. My heart is like wax. Go ahead. Is melted in the midst of my bows. My strength is dried up like a now. And you gonna see why Jesus was scared. So now you think about the omnipotent God, the one that created the heaven and the earth.

Well, he was getting ready to die. Sisters and brothers, that never happened to Jesus before. See, Jesus never died. So he said in verse 15, he said, "My strip is dried up like a pot shard and my tongue cleaveth to my jaws." And this is why. Go ahead and read. And thou has brought me into the dust of death. Thou has brought me into the dust of death. He don't know what it is to die. He done killed a whole lot of things.

But now Jesus is getting ready to die, sisters and brothers. So now verse 16, go ahead. But dogs have compassed me. The assembly of the wicked have enclosed me. Go ahead. They pierced my hands and my feet. See this what we going to talk about. He said they pierced my hands and my feet. So before Zachchariah said it, we see that David said it first, sisters and brothers. But we gonna talk about these marks because if it was not for these marks would none of us have a chance at salvation, sisters and brothers.

So now let's go to Isaiah the 53rd chapter. Isaiah 53. Isaiah 53. And we going we going to show you what happened once they led him like a bull and he died. Not that y'all don't already know, but this going to be a great reviewer for us. So now Isaiah 53 and we going to pick it up at verse one. Isaiah 53 and we going to pick it up at verse one. When you get there, go ahead, Elder. Who have believed our report? Go ahead.

And to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed? So we can really kind of stop at verse one and make a whole lesson around this. Who believed our report? Don't nobody believe nothing of what we talking about when it come to the Lord Jesus. Don't no he throw it out all the time to the people how Jesus died for us. Don't nobody really believe that. But they did not believe that even back in his day. So now the the the prophet Isaiah said, "Who have believed our report?

And to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed?" So now verse two, go ahead. For he shall grow up before me before him as a tender plant. Go ahead. And as a root out of a dry ground. So now he is using parables when he talking about Jesus. Now he said, "For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant." That's why they call him the branch. He going to be a tender plant now and as a root out of a dry ground. So this dry ground represent Israel.

It wasn't no water there at all now. But he was going to be a tender plant that was going to come out of the corrupt nation of Israel. Go ahead and read. He has no form nor cleanliness. Go ahead. And when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. Go ahead and read. He is despised and rejected of men. See, we we can really kind of stop right here, sisters and brothers. They say he is despised and rejected of men.

See, he was not going to be liked. He was not going to be appreciated. And even when people have died and still sinning right now and call on the name of Jesus, they they still put him back to shame on an open cross. So they say he is despised and rejected of men. Go ahead and read. A man of sorrow. That's why he was he was a man of sorrows. Sisters and brothers. Jesus wasn't happy golucky all the time because he knew what his mission was.

So if you go read through the gospels, you going to see that Jesus cried a lot. So now what else was he? Go ahead. And acquaintance with Go ahead. And we hid as it were from. You did the same thing Adam did. Adam hid from him in the Garden of Eden. We all ran from the Lord. We didn't want to with them. We didn't want to keep the Sabbath uh uh the Lord told us to eat. We didn't want to follow instructions at all. We didn't want to do that.

So, the same thing when Adam hid himself in the Garden of Eden from the Lord, we hid our faces from him as well. You ever talk to somebody and they say, "Well, I'm just not ready to serve him yet." That means you hide from him, sisters and brothers. But now, what else did they say about him? Go ahead and read. He was despised. Go ahead. And we esteemed him not. We esteemed him not. We act like that he wasn't even there.

You know, if you invited, if you can invite him to the party, whether he showed up or not, you wouldn't even care cuz we didn't esteem him at all. But now, but what did he do? While we was doing what we was doing, going away from God, he was coming to us. So, what did he do at verse four? Go ahead. Surely he had borne our grace. Surely, he had borne our grease. Think about all of your grease and you take them to the Lord, sisters and brothers.

Who do you take them to? So, surely he had b he had he had borne our grease. Go ahead and read. And carried our sorrow. Go ahead. Yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. So he was he was stricken and smitten of God and afflicted. But now this is why the father did it. Verse five. Go ahead. But he was wounded for our transgressions. Go ahead. He was bruised for our iniquities. They say he was he was wounded for our transgressions, sisters and brothers.

And he was bruised for our iniquities. Bruised mean that they killed him. That's what bruised mean. So if you go read off in Genesis the third chapter when he said that thou shalt bruise his head but I'm going to bruise his heel. That means he was going to get up off the cross because he was going to have to die for the sins of the people. But it wasn't going to be nothing that he caused. It was for it was to save us.

So they said he was wounded for our transgressions and he was bruised for our iniquities. Go ahead and read. The chastisement of our peace was upon him. The chastisement of our peace was upon him. So what did Jesus tell you off in uh St. St. John the 16th chapter? He said in me you shall have peace but in the world you going to have tribulations but he said be of good cheer because I have overcome the world. Yes sir.

So now he said the chastisement of our peace was upon him. Go ahead and read. And with his stripes go ahead. We are healed. But with those stripes we heal sister. That's how you cast out devils. You cast out devils through his blood. You get deliverance through his blood. You get saved through his blood. That's what the testament had represented. But now he said, "By these stripes we are healed." So now let's take a little pause for the cause.

The stripes were severe lacerations and bruises caused by Roman scourging. These agonizing strikes were designed to tear deep into the flesh and bone. So we going to show you what Jesus went through today. But now before he was crucified, he got whipped with 39 stripes with a flag. You know what a flagrant is? That is a br a brutal multi-long leather whip embedded with sharp pieces of bone, metal, and iron. That's what they whoop Jesus with.

So this was before they took him and crucified him on the cross. So all of these chastisement, all the beating and every blood that was shed, it was for your benefit, sisters and brothers. So this one thing you don't ever want to play when it come to the Lord. Sisters and brothers, you want to go all the way in because you got to think about what he went through. They was tearing through his bones. So all of this happened before he got crucified.

They whooped him. He got 39 lashes because it was a it was a custom in Israel that they could get. So they gave Jesus 39. But now let's show you what else happened. Let's go to St. Matthew the 10th chapter. Now, let's go to St. Matthew 10 because he going to warn his disciples about something. You want to follow me, it come with a cost. The true servants are not going to be like, especially when you telling the truth.

Ain't nobody going to want to be joined to you, uh, join to you or nothing because they know you telling the truth, sisters and brothers. So, wherever you only see a few people there, that's where you know the truth got to be told there. So, now let's go to St. Matthew the 10th chapter. St. Matthew 10 and we going to pick it up at verse one. Say Matthew 10 and we going to pick it up at verse one. Now Jesus getting ready to get these disciples now and he going to tell them what they going to have to deal with.

Uh say Matthew 10 and pick it up at verse one. Go ahead and read. And when he had called unto him his 12 disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits. Go ahead. To cast them out. Notice what he gave them. Now he gave you power against unclean spirits. We had a lesson on it not too long ago. But see the reason why people came. What we Go ahead, finish that out. He said, "And when he had called unto him his 12 disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits to cast them out." Go ahead and read.

And to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease. See, that's the power also. He didn't just give it to these 12 disciples. He gave it to the people that's also going to be after him, sisters and brothers. For see, have you ever noticed when people truly don't get healed from infirmities a lot, it's because they not asking them correctly? When you come to the Lord, first of all, you got to believe that he can do it.

If you don't believe that the Lord can do it, it ain't going to cast them out. And certain devils or certain demons that's dwelling in you, you got to cast them out through prayer and fasting. Or if not, you gonna be like a Uber, you gonna be like a Uber car. And them demons gonna go with you everywhere you go. But you got got to cast them out. You got to get deliverance from these unclean spirits and deliverance from all sickness and all manner of diseases.

So now verse two, go ahead. Now the names of the twel apostles are the first Simon who is called Peter and Andrew his brother, James the son of Zebedee and John his brother Philip and Bartholomew Thomas and Matthew the publican, James the son of Alas and Lebas whose surname was Thaddius. Go ahead. Simon the Canaanite. Simon the Canaanite because he was black. That's why they called him Simon the Canaanite. Go ahead.

and Judas's scar. Go ahead. Who also betrayed him. Who also betrayed him. But like I like to say all the time, see Jesus chose his Judas. You can't choose yours. You don't know who gonna stab you in your back. But see, Jesus personally chose the guy that was going to do it. But see, in these days, you don't know who your Judas going to be. But if you keep walking around and keep living and keep doing what God want you to do, he gonna reveal them all, sisters and brothers.

But now, what did he tell these guys? Verse five, go ahead. These 12 Jesus sent forth and commanded them, saying, "Go ahead. Go not into the way of the Gentiles." He told them, "Now go not into the way of the Gentiles. I'm going to send you to the Gentiles later because I could have put it off in if you go read off in St. Luke the first chapter that when the child was born." Now, they said also he was going to be a light unto the Gentiles.

But they had to get the nation straight first. So while they was getting the nation straight, he told them to go not into the way of the Gentiles. Go ahead and read. and into any city of the Samaritans, enter ye not. Go ahead. But go round to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. And they lost, sisters and brothers. The house of Israel is lost. You would think in these last days that the nation is waking up with all this Luciferian doctrine and things like that that's going around.

You seeing more and more people that's straying away from the word of God. Sisters and brothers, when the Lord say it's only going to be a sheath that's going to be saved, that's a handful. The Lord meant that. It's not going to be the Lord said many are called but few are going to be chosen. So it ain't going to be a whole lot of people. It's only going to be a few. So now go ahead and read seven. And as ye go preach saying the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

That's the only thing that we got to talk about partner. We got just we just need to talk about the kingdom of heaven. His kingdom is going to come to the earth and you got time to prepare yourself before he comes. Verse 15. Verse 15. Go ahead. Verily I say unto you, go ahead. It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment. Go ahead. Than for that sin. So we ain't put it all in here now.

But he said as you go preach now if you went into somebody house you give them the gospel. If they accept you then that farewell. If they do not then he said you saw what happened to Sodom and Gomorrah right? We burnt Sodom and Gomorrah down to the ground. Well he said that's going to be small cakes compared to what's going to happen if they reject this word from you when I come back. That's what the Lord is saying.

So now what else did he say? Go ahead and read 16. Go ahead. Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves. That's how you are, sisters and brothers. I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves. And these wolves going to try to bite you. They going to try to kill you. They going to scourge you. But he is already telling him what to beware of before I send you out. He said, "Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves.

Go ahead and read. Be ye therefore wise as serpents. Be ye therefore wise as serpents. Go ahead and read. and harmless as doves. and harmless as doves. So, you can't switch that around now. You can't be wise as servant and harmless as a wolf because you got a lot of people that's just unmerciful that's in the word of God. It's all about me. I know more than you. And that is not the case. Because see, your job is to teach.

So, I'm going to send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves. He said, "Be ye therefore wise as serpents, but I want you to be harmless as a dove. I don't want you out here arguing with people about the Bible all the time. But now, what is his main focus? Verse 17, go ahead. But beware of men. He said, "But beware, men." Beware of men. Go ahead. For they will deliver you up to the councils. They will deliver you up into the councils.

Go ahead and read. And they will scourge you in their synagogues. And they going to scourge you in the synagogues. That's in the church. That mean they going to beat you, sisters and brothers. And we going to show you that everything that the Lord told the apostles and the the disciples, all of this stuff came to pass, sisters and brothers. Go ahead and read 18. And ye shall be brought before governors and kings for my sake.

Go ahead. For testimony against them and the Gentiles, go ahead. But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what you shall speak. You ain't got to be in there rehearsing. When they say this, I'm gonna say this. When they say that, I'm going say this right here. I don't even do that before lessons. I used to try to do that and every time I what when I would think about what I was gonna say, none of it came out in the first place.

The only thing that the Lord want you to do is read the book and once you read the book, give it to the people and then sit down when you done. That's your only job as being a man or a woman of God. You give the word of God and you sit down humbly, sisters and brothers. So now verse 20, go ahead and read. Yeah. Yeah. Finish it out. Yeah. Finish. For it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak. Go ahead.

For it is not ye that speak. For it is not ye that speak. Go ahead. But the spirit of your father was speaketh in you. But the spirit of your father which speaketh through you. Now, so we've been even been saying during this lesson that this was Jesus speaking through the mouth of David. This was Jesus speaking through the mouth of Zachariah. So when you be brought before the counselors, you got that's going to be the father that's going to speak to you what you should say in that hour.

So now let's go a little bit further now. Let's go to St. Mark the 10th chapter. St. Mark the 10th chapter and and we going to show you. We going to deal with the disciples now because we going to deal with them being beat now because the title of the lesson is I bearing my body the marks of the Lord Jesus. That's physically and spiritually sisters and brothers. And we gonna show and prove that to you today. Let's go to St.

Mark the 10th chapter. St. Mark 10 and we gonna pick it up at verse 28. St. Mark 10 and we going to pick it up at verse 28. When you get there, go ahead. Then Peter began to say unto him, "Lo, we have left all and have followed thee." So now because you know he they had already asked, you know, we gonna come back to saint the saint uh St. Mark the 10th chapter a little bit later. But anyway, he the Peter had said, "We have left all to follow thee." Go ahead and read 29.

And Jesus answered and said, "Verily I say unto you, go ahead. There is no man that have left house or brethren or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands for my sake." And the gospel. So notice what you going to leave. Now this what you going to leave. So, a lot of people outside, a few people that's in this room, we didn't grow up in the word of God. So, I know a whole lot of people in my family and a whole lot of people in y'all family, you have lost.

Why did you lose them? You lost them for the gospel sake, sisters and brothers. See, a lot of people didn't grow up in this thing. So, when you come home and you start preaching the truth and you start preaching against Christmas and Easter and things of that nature, people going to leave you, sisters and brothers. They going to forsake you the exact same way that they forsake Jesus. So now go ahead and read verse 30.

But he shall receive in hundfold now in this time. Go ahead. Houses and brethren and sisters and mothers and children. Go ahead and lands with pre persecutions. Persecutions. That's what you gonna get with it now. So just like we took the big picture out here. Brother Donald took the picture. We had everybody here. We took the picture. I sent them pictures in my family that nobody hit on them at all. That nobody say but but but if I was to send that picture of me being out at a jazz fest, everybody would hit on.

But we sent out something about the church. And guess what? Don't nobody recognize it at all now. But he said, you going to lose your natural family. But but he said, but now in this time when you come to him, you going to gain houses and brethren and sisters, but it's going to come with persecution, sisters and brothers. But once the persecution leave, go ahead and read and in the world to come eternal life. That's what you gonna get.

In the end, you gonna get eternal life for it. We going to read about that. But now read that verse 31. Go ahead. But many that are first shall be last. Many that are first shall be last. Go ahead. And the last first. And they were in the way going up to Jerusalem. And Jesus went before them. So notice how these people was now. So remember when we read in Isaiah 53 that he was despised and rejected. Didn't nobody like him.

But at this time everybody was scared to follow along with Jesus. He said and and as they were in the way going up to Jerusalem and Jesus went before them. Go ahead and read. And they were amazed. And as they followed, go ahead. They were afraid. They were afraid sisters and brothers cuz they knew they knew he was not liked. See, all the religious people didn't like Jesus at all. So, as they followed Jesus, now they were all afraid.

Go ahead. And he took again the 12 and began to tell them what things should happen unto him. Go ahead. Saying, Behold, we go, we go up to Jerusalem, and the son of man shall be delivered unto the chief priests and unto the scribes, and they shall condemn him to death. Go ahead. And shall deliver him to the Gentiles. So that's what's going to happen to him now. So he pulled the 12 away from the multitude. Why did he pull them away?

Because he had to keep them strong. But see, when you get people around and everybody afraid, then that fear is going to be on everybody else. That's why God said, "I didn't give you the spirit of fear, but of a sound mind." So he pulled them away to tell the 12 disciples what was going to happen to him as he was going up to Jerusalem. But now verse 34, go ahead. And they shall mock him. That's what's going to happen to him.

We said they shall mock him. Go ahead and read. They shall scourge him. That means they going beat him, sisters and brothers. But see this blood is going to be for our admonition. They going to mock him and they shall scourge him. Go ahead and read. They shall spit upon him. He even let him spit on sisters and brothers. This what the master did. You let a man spit on us, boy, we they it'll take it'll take five wild bulls to hold us back from getting to them.

That's how we know that we got to get a little bit better with our attitudes. me in particular. Now he said they shall mock him and shall scourge him and they shall spit upon him. Go ahead and read. And shall kill him. So he also telling them now we going to go up to Jerusalem this time and I'm going to die. So we ain't going to walk away from the feast days that we have been walking away from for these past three years.

When I go up here this time, they going to kill me. But what's going to happen after that? Go ahead and read. And the third day, go ahead. He shall rise again. And the third day, he going to rise again. So he going to overcome all of it, sisters and brothers. And that's going to be for our benefit. Keep reading. Go ahead. 35. And James and John, the sons of Zebedee, come unto him, saying, Master, we will that thou should do for us whatsoever we shall desire.

So now, you know, they they heart is in the right place now. So I don't want to say nothing about the sounds of thunder right here because they mind is in the right place. But see, they was all going to going to go with Jesus and would have died when they killed it. But he said, "Master, we would that thou should us do for us whatsoever we desire." Because he had already told them that if you ask me, I will do this for you.

But now they getting ready to ask Jesus a hard question. What did they ask him? Go ahead. And he said unto them, "What would ye that I should do for you?" Go ahead. And they said unto him, "Grant unto us that we may sit one on thy right hand and the other on thy left hand in thy glory." I bet they got close to Jesus and got all close to him and said, "Man, you know, let us be that one to sit on your right hand and be on your left." Because see, he knew they had chose them guys, but at the same time, their heart was in the right place.

But see, Jesus getting ready to tell them something else. That's a hard saying. And it's going to be hard for you to sit around me when I got 24 elders. I got seven angels over here and I got another four angels sitting over here. So it's going to be hard for you to sit next to me. So what did Jesus say? Go ahead and read 38. But Jesus said unto them, "Ye know not what you ask." He said, "You know not what you ask." Go ahead.

Can you drink of the cup that I drink of? He said, "Can you drink of the cup that I drink of?" That's the question that he asked him about. And this ain't no regular cup that we talking about. This ain't no vinegar that they going to give him when he died on the cross. This cup represents suffering, sisters and brothers. This cup represent bloodshed. That's what he talking about. This cup represents rejection. That's what it represents, sisters and brothers.

So he said, "You know not what you ask. Can you drink of the cup that I drink of?" Go ahead and read. And be baptized the baptism. Go ahead. That I am baptized with. So why did he call it a baptism, sisters and brothers? Because this time he wasn't fully submerged in water. He was fully submerged with people standing over him beating him, sisters and brothers, because they couldn't see him. So he was fully submerged with people around him and they was beating him down.

That's what that's what that baptism was talking about right here. So now keep reading. Go ahead. And they said unto him, "We can." When he said, "We can." Go ahead. What Jesus say? And Jesus said unto them, Go ahead. Ye shall indeed drink of the cup that I drink of. See, really, man, you you think Jesus is kind of welling them out, but he actually telling them, I know you going to do it. I know that you going I know you going to drink of the cup that I drink of.

You shall indeed drink of it. See, that's a two-edged sword. You going to get beat, but I also know that you guys are going to fulfill the mission. So now he said, "Ye shall indeed drink of the cup that I drink of." Go ahead and read. And with the baptism that I have baptized with all shall ye be baptized. Go ahead. But to sit on my right hand and on my left hand is not mine to give. Go ahead. But it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared.

For whom it is prepared. So them seats are already taken. But guess what else you going to have? You are going to have some gates that once the once the the father's kingdom come down, your name going to be one one of the gates. I can also put you on 12 thrones judging the 12 tribes of Israel. So you still going to get a very very big reward for following me. So now keep reading. Go ahead. 41. And when the tent heard it, they began to be much displeased with James and John.

You know, they was a little mad at them. I got tickled at him a little bit trying to get a one up on everybody else. Trying to get in. Trying to get in close. Look at y'all. They over here suck it up. You know, that's basically what they were saying. And he said, "And when the 10 heard it, they began to be much displeased with James and John." But now, keep reading. Go ahead. Okay, that's it. Okay, that's it right there.

Okay, let's go a little bit further now. Let's get on into the story. Let's go to St. John the 18th chapter. St. John 18. St. John 18. And we going to pick it up at verse one. Let's get right on into the beating, sisters and brothers. Let's show you the reason why we doing these lessons. Why we keep feast days, why we truly believe in the Lord and trying to get everybody else to believe that. Let's show you. Let's get down.

We f to get into it now. Let's go to St. John the 18th chapter and we going to pick it up at verse one. St. John 18 and we going to pick it up at verse one. St. John 18 and1. When you get there, Elder, go ahead and read. When Jesus had spoken these words, go ahead. He went forth with his disciples over the crook where was a corner into the into the which he entered and his disciples. Go ahead. And Judas also which betrayed him knew the place for Jesus often times resto resorted there with his disciples.

So now that's right north northeast of Jerusalem sisters and brothers. That's where this that's where this citron or this this this valley is and where that water garden is. And that's also where the mount of olives is. So Jesus often times went to that spot because he said when I come back once I touch this mountain again it's going to split. So now keep reading. Go ahead. Three. Judas then having received the band of men and officers from the chief priests and Pharisees held with lanters and torches and weapons.

Go ahead. What they coming with weapons for? See you. That let you know what kind of guy Judas really was. It was no reason for them to come with to come with no sword. Judas had already knew what the between them 12 men, they didn't have but two weapons, but they came like they was going to come get Charles Manson to somebody. So they came with torches and they came with weapons. So now verse four, go ahead. Jesus, therefore, knowing all things that should come upon him, went forth, and said unto them, go ahead.

Whom seek whom seek you, I ain't scared of you. I ain't trying to hide. I ain't going to go run off in nobody else tent. I'm not running from you at all. So he knew that they was coming now. So they said, "Whom seek ye?" Go ahead and read. They answered him, "Jesus of Nazareth." They said, "Jesus of Nazareth." Go ahead. Jesus said unto them, "I am he, and Judas also, which betrayed him, stood with them." Boy, it ain't nothing like seeing your friends standing with your enemies.

It ain't nothing wrong with that. You know, that's a hard thing for you to deal with. But see, Jesus already knew that. So, one thing I'mma say, if you see your friends hanging around with your enemies, be true. Be be sure of one thing. You got two enemies. One openly and one secretly. But now, keep reading. Go ahead. As soon as then as he has said unto them, go ahead. I am he went backward and fell to the ground. See, that would have been enough for me.

Now, he all he said was, I am he, and they went backward and fell to the ground. You see how much power Jesus had? That was just through his voice. So they let you know one thing that none of the weapons that they had, none would would have been able to take him down. So he said when I am he, they went backwards and then they all fell to the ground. So now keep reading. Go ahead. Then asked he them again, whom seek ye?

And they said Jesus of Nazareth. They had to ask him again what you think I'm playing about what I'm saying right here because probably because they was embarrassed. So he they said it again, whom seek ye? And they said Jesus of Nazareth. Go ahead. Jesus answered, go ahead. I have told you that I am he. I already told you that I am he. Go ahead. If therefore ye seek me, go ahead. Let these go their way, that they that the same might be fulfilled which he spake of them which thou gavest me.

I lost none. Have I lost none of them now? Because see they would have but now we will save that. Keep reading. Go ahead. 10. Then Simon Peter having a sword drew it and smoked the high priest's servant. Go ahead and cut off his right ear. Go ahead. The serpent's name was Malcolm. They said the servants name was Malcolm. So So they let you know what kind of guys that Jesus truly had around them. It wasn't that they were thugs and killers.

It was just the fact that they truly believed in the master, sisters and brothers. So this is the reason that they chose him. So when they came, Peter didn't care how many of them it was. And it was between three and 600 men. That's what a band of soldiers is. So he and it was only 11 of them at that time. So he took his sword and he cut off the high priest servants ear. So now keep reading. Go ahead. 11. Then said Jesus unto Peter, put up thy sword into the sheep.

Put up thy sword into thy sheep. Go ahead. The cup which my father hath given me. Go ahead. Shall I not drink it? He telling you now. Shall I not drink of the cup that my father gave me? So he told Peter just put your sword up. So once Jesus did that, once he said that to Peter, what else happened? Go ahead. Then the man and the captain and officers of the of the Jews took Jesus and bound him. So then they took Jesus, sisters and brothers, and they bound him.

So now, let's skip down to verse 15. Let's skip down to verse 15. I want everybody to pay attention now to what we getting ready to read right here. Keep reading. Go ahead. 15 And Simon Peter followed Jesus, and so did another disciple. That disciple was known unto the high priest. Go ahead. And went in with Jesus into the palace of the high priest. Go ahead. But Peter stood at the door without. So Peter stood at the door without thou.

So now that disciple that was with them, that was John. So John went in now. But Peter stood at the door without. Go ahead. Then went out that other disciple which was known unto the high priest. Go ahead. And spake unto her that kept the door. Go ahead. And brought in Peter. They kept the door. So they brought in Peter. So now what happened? Go ahead. 17. Then saith the damsel that kept the door unto Peter. Art not thou also one of his this man's disciple?

Go ahead. He said, I am not. I am not. See, this is serious right here. This is real serious. what we read about and I'm going to show you about what time this happened. So now keep reading. So he denied him at this time. This was the same guy that was following Jesus and just cut this one guy's ear off. But see once Jesus was bound and his life could be on the line, he got scared, sisters and brothers, and he said, "I am not." But now verse 18, go ahead.

And the servants and officers stood there. Go ahead. who had made a fire of coals, for it was cold, and they warmed themselves. And Peter stood with them and warmed himself. Go ahead. The high priest then asked Jesus of his disciples and of his doctrine. Go ahead. Jesus answered him, I spake openly to the world, I ever taught in the synagogue. He was always in the synagogue. Now, he said, I ever taught in the synagogue.

Go ahead and read. And in the temple, when do the Jews always resort? Go ahead. And in secret, have I said nothing? I ain't said nothing in secret. Anything that I said, I've already said, and you ain't going to be able to change nothing that I said. That's right. That's what Jesus is telling them right here. So he said, I ever taught in the synagogue now and in the temple, whether the Jews always resort. And in secret, I have said nothing.

So really, you could have went to the Jews and asked them anything that I said, and they wouldn't have been able to lie about it. But now keep reading. Go ahead. 21. Why ask thou me? Ask them which heard me. Ask them which heard me. That's what he said. Go ask them what I said. Go ahead. What I have said unto them. Behold, they know what I said. They know what I said. Go ahead. And when he had thus spoken, one of the officers which stood by struck Jesus with the palm of his hand.

So this was the very first lick. So he smacked Jesus in the face. Probably bust his nose and and bust his lip. So this was the very first one. So as soon as he said that, so Jesus didn't even answer the guy roughly. But as soon as he said that, one of the officers, they struck Jesus with the palm of his hands. Now, so we getting off into these marks. Go ahead and read, saying, answer thou the high priest. So go ahead.

Jesus answered him, if I have spoken evil, bear witness of the evil. Go ahead. But if well, go ahead. Why smiteest thou me? So now he asking them a question right here. If I spoke evil, then you can you can bear witness of it. But if I spoke well, he said, "Why are you smiting me in the face?" But at the same time, when they was in Jesus, Jesus knew what he was there for. So now, keep reading. Go ahead. 24. Now has sent him bound unto Caesar, the high priest.

Go ahead. And Simon Peter stood and warmed himself. Go ahead. They said therefore unto him, Go ahead. Art not art not thou also one of his disciples? Go ahead. He denied it and said, "I am not. I am not." But this was the same God that said, "I'll follow you wherever you go." And then Jesus had to rebuke him and said, "Get thee behind me, save." So, don't you also see that we almost lost the God that the Lord gave the keys to the kingdom to we almost lost him.

And we going to show you what time that you need to be aware of. So now, keep reading. Go ahead. 26. One of the servants of the high priest being his kinsmen whose ear Peter cut off. That was the high priest's cousin who Peter ear cut off. Now go ahead say. Go ahead. Did not I see thee in the garden with him? Go ahead. Peter then denied again. Go ahead. And immediately the crew. So he denied him again and immediately the crew.

Sisters and brothers. So brother Donald, I want to tell you openly. Not did I but thank you for that text every morning that you sent me at 3:56 and 358. I look forward every morning because see the cockro is between four and six o'clock. So at that time that's when you need to be more aware of Jesus now because that's where most people lose their focus. That's the reason why when all when the disciples were asleep Jesus said can you watch with me one hour like I said last week the most important part of your day are the very first 10 minutes that you wake up.

When you first wake up, that's going to determine how your entire day going to be, sisters and brothers. If you bring strife in, you going to have strife in it all day. If you bring evil thoughts in, them evil thoughts going to be in all day. But when you first wake up and you give the the glory to the Lord, that's going to determine how the rest of your day is going to be. So that time is very important. Yes. That's why Jesus said, "If I come to them and I catch them watching in the second and the third hour, then I will find them." So, so it's how you start your day.

That's why that four o'clock. Thank you for it. But now keep reading. Go ahead. 28. Go ahead. Then let Jesus from Chaos unto the hall of judgment. And it was early and they themselves went not into the judgment hall. Go ahead. This they should be defiled. Go ahead. but that they might eat the Passover. He said that day. He said that that day that they might eat of the Passover. So now let's go a little bit further now.

Let's get into it. Let's go right into St. John the 19th chapter. St. John 19. St. John 19. And now let's pick it up at verse one. We getting ready to get down to the beaten now. St. John 19 and pick it up at verse one. Go ahead. Then Pilate therefore took Jesus. took Jesus in scarcity. This where he got the licks at. This where they tied him up to that little half tree. They bent him over and they took that they took that flag wrong and they start brutally beating him on the back.

This was the scourging that they was talking about. So this was before he got hung on the cross. They had already beat him to where his his bones and his flesh was already wide open dripping with blood. See that's what we talking about sisters and brothers. Think about who died on the cross for you. So now verse two, go ahead. And the soldiers platted a crown of thorns and put it on his head and they put on him a purple robe.

Go ahead. And said, hell, king of the Jews. Go ahead. And they smoke him once again. So now here go the beating. So the beating going down now. He said, but by these stripes we are healed. And he said, hell, king of the Jews. And they smoked him with their hands, sisters and brothers. So here come the blood shed. Verse four. Go ahead. Pilate therefore went forth again and said unto them, "Behold, I bring him forth to you, that ye may know that I find no fault in him." See, Pilot knew what time that it was, but he was only doing them a favor because if he would not have did them the favor, then they would have went crying to Tiberius, Caesar, about what Pilate was doing over in Jerusalem.

So, he had already told them that, I find no fault in this man now. I'm going to do what you want me to do because if not you going to go tell Caesar on me. So now go ahead and read verse five. Then came Jesus forth wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe. And Pilate saith unto them, go ahead, behold the man. I mean like it wasn't enough. They said, behold him. He was bleeding as you. We done all seen the movie the passion of the Christ.

We done seen all of the blood. That's how it really was, sisters and brothers. So that's why they said, "Behold the man. We done beat him. He can barely stand up. So that's why he told him, he said, "Behold the man, go ahead." Six. When the chief priest therefore and officers saw him, they cried out saying, "Go ahead. Crucify him. Crucify him. Go ahead. Crucify him. Go ahead on and kill him." That's what your people said, Israel.

Your people said this, Mr. Israelite. So that's why we need to come down on our high horses and understand what we in the fight for because it was your forefathers that killed the prophets and walking around right now. We are some of the same children that killed the prophets, sisters and brothers. So keep reading. Go ahead. Pilot said unto them, go ahead. Take ye him and crucify him. Go ahead. For I find no faults in him.

So he gave him a choice. Why don't y'all go ahead on and take him and kill him? You want him dead, so why don't you go and kill him? Because he said, "For I find no fault in him." Go ahead and read. The Jews answered him, "We have a law, and by our law he ought to die." He said, "And by our law, he ought to die." Go ahead and read. Because he made himself the son of God. Notice what they said. They say he made himself the son of God.

He didn't make himself the son of God. He was the son of God. Yes, sir. He was the son of God. So now verse eight, go ahead. When Pilate therefore heard that saying, go ahead. He was the more afraid. He was the more afraid like man God why y'all put me in this situation why y'all making me do it because see then I already heard about Jesus but see the first time that pilot saw Jesus that was the very first time that he seen so now verse n go ahead and went again into the judgment hall and said unto Jesus go ahead which art thou go ahead but Jesus gave him no answer he ain't say nothing to him man he gave him no answer because see the truth don't need no validation all the time Right?

See, people try to validate themselves to try to make themselves right. You ain't got to validate yourself when you telling the truth. So when they came to him, but Jesus gave him no answer. Verse 10, go ahead. Then said Pilot unto him, Go ahead. Speakst thou not unto me, knowing knowest thou not that I have power to crucify thee? Go ahead. And have power to release thee. Man, he didn't care nothing about that, man.

You ain't got no power at all. The only power you gave is the power that my father gave you. And he going to tell him this at verse 11. Go ahead. Jesus answered, "Thou could have no power at all against me." He said, "Thou shall have no power at all against me." Go ahead. Except it were given thee from above. Except it was given thee from above. That's the only power that you have. We already know that God worked through the kingdom of men.

Daniel the 4th chapter bears that out. He said it were given. He said, "Thou couldest have no power at all against me, except it were given for thee from above." Go ahead. Therefore, he that delivered me unto thee, Go ahead. Have the greater sin. Who you think he talking about, Judas? He talking about the whole nation. The whole nation delivered him up to be killed. Sisters and brothers, all of them did. So now, let's skip down to verse 16.

Skip down to verse 16 and go ahead. Then delivered he he to him therefore unto them to be crucified. And they took Jesus and led him away. Go ahead. And he bearing the cross. That's what he did. Now he had already been beat. They said, "Go ahead on now. Walk with your cross. What we going to kill you on? You going to walk your own cross over here while we hang you on it." And what did Jesus do? He was so humble after they beat him.

He grabbed that cross and he started walking with his own cross. See, that is a symbol. That's also symbolic for us. You going to have to also bear your cross. Yes, sir. The same way that he buried his. Go ahead and read 17. Go ahead. And he bearing his cross went forth into the into a place called the place of skull, which is called in the Hebrew G. That's the only Hebrew word I believe right there. I believe Galgo.

But keep reading. Go ahead. 18. where they crucified him and two other with him on either one side and Jesus in the midst. Go ahead. And Pilate wrote a title and put it on the cross. Go ahead. And the writings was Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews. Go ahead. This title then read many of the Jews. Go ahead. For the place where Jesus was crucified was nigh to the city. Go ahead. And it was written in Hebrew, in Greek, and Latin.

I believe Pilate did this really just to make them mad. I believe that's why he did it. He he wrote on there Jesus of Nazareth, the king of the Jews. And then he said the title was then read many of the Jews for the place uh where Jesus was crucified was not to the city. And it was written in Hebrew and Greek and in Latin. Why did he choose them languages? Because anybody that believed when this guy died on the cross, whatever language or whatever nation you was, you read that he was Jesus, King of the Jews.

So if you really look how God is operating, he is really operating through the hand of Pilate. So now verse 20, go ahead. Uh verse 21. Verse 21, I'm sorry. Go ahead. Then said the chief priest of the Jews to Pilate, write not the king of the Jews. Go ahead. But that he said, Gohead, I am king of the Jews. But that he said, I am the king of the Jews. Don't write that at all. Just put it on there that he said it. But now, but what did Pilate answer him back?

Go ahead. Pilot answer. Go ahead. What have What I have written? Go ahead. I have written. I ain't changing nothing because it's bigger than you, Israel. It's bigger than you. It's bigger than you. He wrote that for a reason. Sisters and brothers. The man wife already done told him, "I'm having bad dreams that you about to kill this guy." And then once they he had said he was a son of God, the man got scared again. So, he really did not want to do this.

the same way that that king did not want to put Daniel in the liz den. But now keep reading. Go ahead. 23. Go ahead. Then the soldiers when they had crucified Jesus took his garments and made four parts to every soldier a part and also his coat. Now the coat was without seam woven from the top throughout. Woven from the top without. And we already know what that that was a mantle. Sisters and brothers. We did a lesson on a mantle.

See, see the mantle was always given to the kings or given to somebody that was important. So this scene that was woven and without that was a mantle. But now verse 24, go ahead. They said therefore among themselves, let us not rent it. Go ahead. But cast lots for it whose it shall be. You know, just like a just like a baseball jersey or something. Now we ain't going to break it. Now what we going to do? We going to cast lots and whoever win the bet, that's who going to get the garment.

Go ahead and read that the scripture might be fulfilled would say they parted my my remnant among them and for my vetor they did cast a lot. Go ahead. These things therefore the soldiers did. Go ahead. Now they stood by the cross of Jesus his mother. Go ahead. And his mother's sister. Go ahead. Mary the wife of Cleopus. Go ahead. And Mary Magdalene. That was a whole lot of Mary standing right there, wasn't it? Boy, we about married out right here.

But hey, he said there stood by the cross of Jesus. He had his mother there. He had his mother's sister there. He had Mary, the wife of Cleopus. And he also had Mary Magdalene that was all standing there, sisters and brothers. But now what happened? Go ahead. 26. When Jesus therefore saw his mother, go ahead. And the disciples standing by. Go ahead. Whom he loved, he said unto his mother, go ahead. Woman, behold thy son.

That's what he told. He said, woman, behold thy son. If don't nobody look up up here on this cross, you better be the first one to look. Why? because you know how tight eyebond was and also that that he that she was also blessed and highly favored and also he wanted his mom to get salvation more than anybody. That's why he said woman, he said, behold thy son. Go ahead. 27. Then said he to the disciples, behold thy mother.

And he said unto his disciples, behold, behold thy mother. This going to be the mother now. Like we say mother Terry. Like we say mama Linda. See this going to be the mama now. So now he said unto his disciples, he said, behold thy mother. Go ahead. And from that hour, that disciple took her unto his own home. Go ahead. After this, Jesus, knowing that all things were now accomplished, go ahead. That the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst.

He said, I thirst. Go ahead and read. Now there was a set a vessel full of vinegar. And they filled a sponge with vinegar and put it put it upon his soul. Go ahead. And put it to his mouth. Can you imagine the last thing? You know, I used to uh drink a little pickle juice and take a little vinegar to try to clean stuff out of my sister. If you ain't never had none go down into your stomach, then you will understand what it's talking about right here.

So that was the last thing that he had to drink. He ain't have no water. He said, "And there was set a vessel full of vinegar, and they filled the sponge with vinegar and put it upon his and put it to his mouth." So now verse 30, go ahead and read. When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, when he had therefore had received the vinegar, go ahead. He said, Go ahead. It is finished. He said, "It is finished," go ahead.

He bowed his head. Go ahead. and gave up the ghost. At that point in time, he went on and he died. He He came to do what he did, sisters and brothers. But see, it's still more to this story. He could not just come and die on the cross and say that it was finished. Because you got to think about it. Jesus died what? Over 2,000 years ago. So now, we got to have a reason to believe that he was the Christ or the Messiah.

So now, keep reading. Go ahead. 31. The Jews therefore because it was the preparation. Go ahead. That the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the Sabbath day. Go ahead. For that Sabbath day was in high debt. Go ahead. Besought Pilot that their legs might be broken. Go ahead. And that they might be taken away. Go ahead. Then came the soldiers and break the legs of the first of the other which was crucified with them.

Go ahead. Can you imagine they still alive? They done already what they done been through. And while they was alive now, they came and broke their legs. Can you imagine that? You know the mafia do that sometime. You know the mafia little something they gonna tell you to break your legs. You know I seen on a movie one time the way they tortured the man and broke his legs. They tied him up to a horse and they tied the Indian up to it.

And what they kept doing was kept rubbing sandpaper up and down his calves and his thighs to turn the meat off of it. Sisters and brothers. So then they took a took some put some wood in between it broke it down and broke the man legs. See, they tortured them guys before they died. But see, they didn't allow the Lord didn't allow none of that to happen to Jesus. Now, but keep reading. Go ahead. 33. Go ahead. But when they came to Jesus and saw that he was dead already, go ahead.

They break not his leg. See, they see he wasn't going to let Jesus suffer no more. He done suffered enough. So, they wasn't going to let the Lord the Father wasn't gonna let him suffer no more. So, that old saying, he went on and put Jesus out of his misery. That's what he did, sisters and brothers. So now verse 34, go ahead and read. This is when the Gentiles really kind of first started believing in Jesus. Go ahead and read.

But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side. See, this was See, this is big right here. That's why I'm saying the story ain't over. It ain't over yet. He said, but one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side. So, so all of these piercings now, they pierced his hands and his feet. That was blood. But now we started over again at verse 34. Go ahead. But one of the soldiers with his spear pierces his side.

Go ahead. And for with came there out blood and water. For with there came out blood and water. Sisters and brothers, go ahead and read. And he and he that saw it bear record. And he that saw it bear record. Now go ahead and read. And his record is true. And we going to show you who this is. This was none other than an angel. Now and he that saw it bear record. and his record is true. Go ahead and read. And he knoweth that he say that he saith truth.

Go ahead. That ye might believe. He said that you might believe. So we had to have a sign. Now we had to have it written in the books. So once this blood and water came out, this was going to prove to you that he was the Christ and the Messiah. Yes, sir. So now keep reading. Go ahead. 36. Go ahead. For these things were done that the scripture should be fulfilled. Go ahead. A bone of him should not be broken. And what else happened?

Go ahead. And again, another scripture said, "They shall look on him whom they pierced." And we read that, didn't we? We read that out in Zechariah the first chapter. So in another scripture, they said they shall look on him whom they have pierced. So now verse 38, go ahead and read. Oh, read that verse 38. Read that. Read read that verse 38. Go ahead. And after this, Joseph of Arythea being a disciple of Jesus. Go ahead.

But secretly for fear of the Jews. But secretly for fear of the Jews because they had to, you know, the Jews didn't want nobody talking to him. So Pilate came to him by night. Now, but secretly for fear of the Jews. Go ahead and read. Besought Pilot. Go ahead. That of the We sought Pilot that he might take away the body of Jesus. Go ahead. And Pilate gave him leave. He came there. Go ahead. And took the body of Jesus.

And he took the body of Jesus. Now, but what we getting ready to go after, remember that they pierced his side and therefore with there also came out blood and water now. So, let's show you that this was going to be a witness that he was going to be the Christ or the Messiah. Let's go to First John the 5th chapter. First John 5. First John 5. First John 5 and we going to pick it up at verse five. 1 John five and we gonna pick it up at verse five.

Now, so we reading about these marks of Jesus now. So the same disciples that's going to come after him, they going to have the same marks that going to be in their body spiritually. And we going to even show you that some of it was even physically, sisters and brothers. So now let's go to first John 5. First John 5. And let's let's pick it up at verse five. 1 John 5 and five. Go ahead and read. Who is he that overcometh the world?

So now he talking about Jesus. He said, "Who is he that overcomemeth the world?" Go ahead and read. But he that believeth that Jesus is the son of God. But he that believeth that Jesus is the son of God. Those are the one that's going to overcome the world, sisters and brothers. And like we mentioned earlier off in St. John 16, Jesus overcome the world. That's why he told you to be of good cheer. Yes, sir. So now go ahead and read.

This was the proof now that he was going to be the Messiah or the Christ. Verse six, go ahead. This is he that came by water and blood. is he that came also by water and blood. Go ahead and read. Even Jesus Christ. Go ahead. Not by water only. He said, "Not by water only." Go ahead. But by water and blood, but by water and blood, sisters and brothers. So now, let's show you what he talking about. Go ahead and read. And it is the spirit that beareth witness.

Go ahead. Because the spirit is truth. So y'all remember we just read that now. So that So now it was everybody that beared the record now that this was going to be the son of God. the father did it. So then Jesus also bare witness because he was a part of it. He was the living sacrifice. But it was also the angel that stood by. So all of this was recorded that he was going to be the Christ or the Messiah. Sisters and brothers.

That's the reason why when they pierced his side, the blood and the water came out to prove who he was the son of God. Yes sir. So now keep reading. Go ahead. Go ahead. For there are three that bear record in heaven. For there are three that bear record in heaven. Go. He ain't saying nothing about this being no God. No sir. He said there are three that bear record. That means that I witness it. I was there. I seen it.

That's what bear record is. He said but there are three that bear record in heaven. Go ahead and read. The father. The father. Go ahead. The word. Go ahead. And the holy ghost. And the holy ghost. Go ahead. And these three are one. And he said these three are one, sisters and brothers. and they won because they all going to come with the name of Jesus, but they also were going to come and because they were going to bear record.

So now keep reading verse eight. Go ahead and read. And there are three that bear witness in earth. So those are in heaven. Now those are the three that bear record in heaven. So now we have to have something for man to believe in on the earth. So in verse eight he said, "And there are three that bear witness in the earth." Go ahead and read the spirit. It was the spirit that bare witness in the earth. Now go ahead and read.

And the water. And the water. Go ahead. And the blood. Go ahead. And these three agree in one. And these three agree in one. Sisters and brothers. That's the reason why the the the the the word and the blood came out. So they had three witnesses in heaven. And there was also three witnesses that agree in one that was in the earth. And why did this happen? Verse nine. Go ahead. If we receive the witness of men, if we receive the witness of men, go ahead and read.

The witness of God is greater. The witness of God is greater, sisters and brothers, because them men died 2,000 years ago. So if didn't nobody write the book, then how would we know that he was the Christ or the Messiah? So now, if we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater. Go ahead and read. For this is the witness of God. Go ahead. Which he has testified of his son. That's the witness that he had testified that that was going to be his son.

Sisters and brothers, everything that we just read about. So now verse 10, go ahead. He that believeth on the son of God, go ahead. Have the witness in himself. He that believeth on the son of God hath the witness in himself. Go ahead and read. He that believeth not God, go ahead. Have made him a liar. You a liar if you don't believe in that. I ain't call you a liar. The book call you a liar. He said that you a liar.

If you don't believe that Jesus is the son of God, you can come with all that old riff ram and all that junk all you want. If you don't believe that Jesus is the son of God, you have chance to change that. We ain't going to throw the fire in your face all the time. But we do want you to change your way of thinking because you have a very shallow way of thinking if you don't think that Jesus is the son of God. Right?

So now you know, you know what? Go read that verse 11. Uh read verse 11. Go ahead. Okay, keep reading. Go ahead. Because he believed not the record that God gave his son. So if you don't believe that record, then he said you were liars. So verse 11, go ahead. And this is the record that God have given to us eternal life. Go ahead. And this life is in his son. Period sisters and brothers. That life is in his son. Period.

So now let's go to Revelations 1. Let's go to Revelations 1. Revelations 1. And we just going to read three verses right here. Let's go to Revelations 1 and we going to read one verse right here. Revelations 1 and we going to pick it up at verse one. Now we going to get down to the disciples, sisters and brothers. Let's go to first John 1. I'm I'm sorry, uh, Revelations 1 and pick it up at verse one. Go ahead. The revelation of Jesus Christ.

So now notice how it's written. Now he said the revelation of Jesus Christ. If you do not believe this, then the book just said you are a liar. So now, Revelations 1 and one, he said, "The revelation of Jesus Christ," go ahead. Which God gave unto him, which God gave unto him, now he gave this to the son, Go ahead and read. To show unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass. Go ahead. And he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John.

Go ahead and read. Who bear record of the word of God. And so now when John came on the scene and baptized him, now if you go read in St. John the first chapter he said this is the one that's coming that I can't even lace his shoes up and he was also the one that said when you see the spirit abode on him like a dove and stay that's how you know that this was going to be the Christ now sir so when you bear record that just mean that you bear witness that's it so now he said who bear record of the word of God ahead and read and of the testimony of Jesus Christ go ahead and of all things that he saw and of all the things that he saw saw, sisters and brothers, and he took it and he wrote it in a book.

So now verse seven, go ahead and read. Behold, he cometh with clouds. Behold, he cometh with clouds. Go ahead and read. And every eye shall see him. And every eye shall see him. Go ahead. And they also which pierced him. Go ahead. And all kings of the earth shall dwell because of him. Go ahead. Even so. Amen. So let's go back to Zechariah 1. Then they say when they when he said they shall look upon me whom they have pierced and they going to dwell for him as one well for their only son.

So now you seeing in revelations what was written thousands of years ago already in the book of Zachchariah sisters and brothers. It was already written about it. So now let's go to Acts the first chapter. Now let's get down to the disciples. Let's go to Acts one. Let's get down to us. Because like I say, it ain't no fun job standing right here where it it's fun, but then it can be hard if you let it be hard. It'll be hard if you allow the things around you to affect you, then it'll become hard.

But but what but but you got to become numb to certain things because you got to realize that when you standing here or standing here or even sitting in the crowd, you got a job to do. And that's the only thing that you need to concern yourself with is the job that you are doing for the Lord. nothing else. Like I say all the time, I don't care nothing about being famous. I care about being for real. You going to know that Obadia was for real when he stood in this pull pit and talked about Jesus.

So now let's go to Acts one. Acts one and pick it up at verse one. Acts one and one. Go ahead and read. The former tree have I made, oh theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and keep. Go ahead. until the day in which he was taken up. Go ahead. After that, he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen. He gave it unto the apostles whom he had chosen. Now, so we not going to read it all.

Let's skip down to verse nine. Verse nine and go ahead and read. And when he had spoken these things, go ahead. While they beheld, go ahead. He was taken up. Go ahead. And a cloud received him out of the disciples. So at this point in time, now this was right. This was right. right around the time of Pentecost because Pentecost was in the second chapter. Now, so now he at this point in time, he was received out of their sight.

But notice what the angel is saying to them. So now verse 10, go ahead. And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven, as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel. Go ahead. Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, Go ahead. Why stand you gazing up in the heaven? You hear y'all y'all hear what he said right there? Now, we ain't going to have no play on words, but you hear what he's saying. Why you gazing up in heaven?

What you up looking up in the sky for? Yeah. See that bit? That's big. We ain't going to go all into it today. But see, like I say, these crescent moons and things of that nature. See, once you start understanding that, the only reason you need to be looking up in the heavenly seeming us seeing and seem sin. So the angel saying, "Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazed up into heaven?" Go ahead and read. The same Jesus which is taken up from you into heaven, go ahead.

Shall so come in like manner as you have seen him go into heaven. As you seen him go up, you going to see him come back the exact same way, sisters and brothers. Yes. So now let's go to Acts the 5th chapter. Let's go to Acts 5. Let's go to Acts 5. Let's get down. So everything that Jesus told the disciples and the apostles, they were going to get beat and you f to get a real rendition of it right here. When he asked him, "Can you drink of the cup that I can drink of and be baptized with the same baptism that I'm baptized with?" You going to see they had to deal with the same thing.

So now let's go to Acts 5 and let's pick it up at verse 9. This was after he killed the the man and the wife for trying to lie about paying paying some tithe to the church. See, you know, he went on and let them get killed for that. But let's show you what happened. Let's pick it up at Acts 5 and pick it up at verse 9. Go ahead and read. Then Peter said unto her. How is it that ye have agreed together to tempt the spirit of the Lord?

Go ahead. Behold, the feet of them which have carried thy husband are at the door, and shall carry thee out. They going to carry thee out. So now verse 10, go ahead. Then fell she down straight way at his feet. Go ahead. And yielded up the ghost. And yielded up the ghost. But see, he gave Peter and them that power, sisters and brothers. He said, "Whatever ye shall bound on earth shall be bound in heaven. And whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven." So I guess Peter said, you know, you lied on to the Holy Ghost.

So you getting ready to die for that. So now what if you lied to the Holy Ghost? So now these people going to be able to stand against you in judgment. That's why you you got to walk it right. You got to walk that plum line that we did that lesson about. That plum line is a straight line that you got to walk with the Lord, sisters and brothers. So now keep reading. Go ahead. And the young men came in and found her dead and carrying her forth buried her by her husband.

Go ahead. And great fear came upon all the church. Go ahead. And upon as many as heard these things. As many as heard these things. That he said great fear came upon all the church and upon as many as heard these things. Verse 12. Go ahead. And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people. Go ahead. And they were all with one accord in Solomon's porch. So they was all together in Solomon's porch.

Now when the when all these things that happen but pay attention to what's going to happen at verse 13. Go ahead and read. And of the rest there's no man joining himself to them. You see how they treat the true service. You ain't got no whole lot of friends. You going to be around here like teddy pentagrams. Where is all my friends? You ain't going to have none once you dealing with the Lord. He said and of the rest does no man join themselves unto them because they was telling the truth.

But now, but what did the people do? Go ahead. But the people magnified them. They rejoined themselves to him, but they magnified them because of the miracles that they did. So, because they did all of the miracles, what else happened at verse 14? Go ahead. And believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes, both men and women. Oh, I can't wait for that day really to come, man. It's really happening. But man, I can't wait for that day to come when men and women and children and everybody going to be joined to the Lord.

So now they was doing so many miracles. What happened at verse 15? Go ahead. And so much that they brought forth the sick into the streets. Go ahead. And laid them on beds and couches. Go ahead. That at the least the shadow of Peter passing by. Go ahead. Might overshadow some of them. Might over just a shadow. Just let the shadow go past us. Peter, they believe that they was going to be healed. Yeah. You remember what we saying?

So now keep reading. Go ahead. There came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto Jerusalem. Cut the arrow. Go ahead. Go ahead. Bringing sick folks. Bringing sick folks. Go ahead. And them which were vexed with unclean spirits. And then he said them which was also vexed with unclean spirits. Now go ahead and read. And they were healed everyone. And they were healed every one of them because they had the faith to do it.

They understood. They was there when the blood was shed. They knew when they came up under the blood, what the blood was for. So there came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto Jerusalem, bringing six folk, and them which were vexed with unclean spirits, and they were healed everyone. Go in and read. 17 Then the high priest rose up, and all they that were with him, which is the sect of the Sadducees, which is the sect of the Sadducees.

And what happened? Go ahead. And were filled with indignation. Go ahead. and laid their hands on the apostles. So now he said so now he said now he said for I bury my body the marks of Christ now. So he said they going to scourge you in the synagogues. Where were where are they located while this has happened? Then he said they was off in Solomon's porch. So if they was in Solomon's porch they was right by the temple sisters and brothers right before the temple got told down.

So now keep reading. Go ahead. And laid their hands on the apostles and put them in a common prison. Not only did they beat him, they laid hands on the apostles and put them in the common prison. But now, let's skip down to verse 25. Verse 25. We ain't going to talk about what happened when they was in prison. Let's talk about when they was delivered from it. So now pick it up at verse 25. Go ahead. Then came one and told them, saying, go ahead.

Behold, the men whom you put in prison are standing in the temple. Go ahead. And teaching the people. They after they got beat that didn't stop them from preaching the gospel sisters and brothers because Jesus had already warned them of what they was going to have to go through for serving him. So they said so now you seen them getting beaten out go ahead and read then with the captain with the officers and brought them without bhead for they feared the people.

Go ahead. List they should have been stoned. At least they should have been stoned now but keep reading. Go ahead. 27 And when they had brought them, they set them before the council. And the high priest asked them, saying, Go ahead. Did not we straight straightly command you that ye should not teach in his name? Go ahead. And behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine. He said, "Behold, you have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine." Now, go ahead and read.

And intend to bring this man's blood upon us. Wait a minute. Now, what you talking about? We just read where you just said, "Let this blood be on us and on our children." So now you want to act like you scared now. Don't get scared now. He said, he said, "Did not we straightly command you that you should not teach in this name? And behold, you have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine and intend to bring this man blood upon us." See, when somebody got a guilty conscience, it's going to show in the end.

They knew that the man was righteous and he didn't do nothing. So now they scared at the fact that they killed him. So now verse 29, go ahead. Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, "Go ahead. We are to obey God rather than men." And that is just point blank and period, sisters and brothers. That's who we are to obey. We are to obey God rather than man. Don't worry about being afraid of man. You need to be worried about being afraid of God.

That's who your problem going to be with if you disobey him. Don't worry. The only thing that a man can do, he can fire you. He can take your money. He can do all of that. He can even take your life. But guess what? The Lord got power to raise you back up again. Yes. So God don't want you to fear none of that stuff. So he said we ought to obey God rather than man. Verse 30. Go ahead. The God of our fathers raised up Jesus.

Go ahead. Whom ye slew. Whom ye slew. Go ahead. And hang on the tree. Go ahead. Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a prince and a savior. Go ahead. for to give repentance to Israel. Go ahead. And forgiveness of sins. And forgiveness of sins. So now verse 32. Go ahead. And we are his witnesses of these things. And so is also the Holy Ghost. Go ahead. Whom God have given to them that obey him. Didn't we just read that in first John 5?

Did we read all this off in St. John the 19th chapter? We read all of this, sisters and brothers. That's what the witnesses are. He said that we are his witnesses of these things. And so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God had given to them that obey him. Yes, sir. Verse 33. Go ahead. When they heard that, they were cut to the heart. They were cut to the heart. Go ahead. And took counsel to the slave. They wanted to die just because they said that he was a son of God.

Here it is now. The disciples getting ready to get killed. All because of what they believe. Verse 34. Go ahead. Then stood there up one in the council of Pharisees. Go ahead. Hey, Galiac. Galiac. So I want you to know who this Gillel is now. So this Gil because we getting ready to bring Paul in. This was the guy that Paul sat at his feet. So it was this guy that really put Paul on the mission to really start believing in Jesus because see we going to show you that he didn't believe in it but he sat at the feet of Gil now and Gille was a doctor of the law.

What else was he? Go ahead and read. The doctor of the law had a reputation among all the people. So he was had a reputation among all the people. Go ahead. And commanded to put the apostles forth as little space. Go ahead. And said unto them, "Ye men of Israel, go ahead. Take heed to yourselves." Go ahead. What ye intend to do as touching these men. Go ahead. So he tell he brought them three forward now. So Gil is talking to the people.

He talking to the religious people. He said, "Take heed on what you intend to do on touching these men because you might be making the biggest mistake of your life." And he going to tell you that. Verse 36, go ahead. For before these days rose up the boasting himself to be somebody. Go ahead. To whom a number of men go ahead about 400 joined themselves. Go ahead. Who was slain? So he was slain. Now go ahead. And all as many as obeyed him gohead was scattered brought to God.

Because now if you got a false prophet walking around, it's only a matter of time before he be gone, right? And that's basically what he's saying now. So this status guy, he was boasting himself to be somebody. Got about 400 people to follow him, but then he was killed and all of the people that followed him, they were scattered and brought to North. Just think about Jim Johnson. Just think about the people we mentioned, Charles Mass.

His whole band done been dismantled out. So now keep reading. Go ahead and read 37. After this man rose up Judas of Galilee in the days of tax and drew away much people after him. Go ahead. He also perished. Go ahead. And all even as many as obeyed him. Go ahead. Were dispersed. To were dispersed. Every time I know it's I ain't going to just say Judas was a bad name because it's a good Judas in the Bible. But this a different Judas.

And all of them was bad. So now he said after this man rose up Judas of Galilee in the days of taxing and drew away much people after him he also perished even all as many as obeyed him was dispersed. So now verse 38 go ahead and now I say unto you go ahead refrain from these men. That's what Gil said. Now he said refrain from beating on these men. Now go ahead and let them alone. Let these men alone. Go ahead. For if this counsel or this work be of men, go ahead.

It will come to know. It's gonna come to know that. Now, if it be of men, go ahead and read. But if it be of God, go ahead. Ye cannot overthrow it. You cannot overthrow it. Go ahead. Lest happily ye be found even to fight against God. He said, he said, "There you if these are true men of God and you kill them, then you happily you going to be found yourself fighting against God." Go ahead and read. And to him they agreed.

Go ahead. And when they had called the apostles and beat, they still didn't just let him off the hook. Now we ain't gonna kill them now, but we still going to put some mints on them real quick. So now here it is. You got the disciples being beat. Go ahead and read. They commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus. Go ahead. And let them go. Go ahead. And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name.

I mean, do you do that now? I'm starting to get real good at it, man. Listen here. When you they when you are being persecuted for righteousness sake, they was just glad to be found worthy to suffer with Jesus. Now, sir, because he had already asked him now, can you drink of this cup that I'm going to drink of? So now verse 42, go ahead. and daily in the temple and in every house. Go ahead. They cease not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.

They still didn't stop. They still kept going, sisters and brothers. So now let's get down to Paul. Let's get down to Paul now. Let's go to Acts the 8th chapter. Acts 8 and we going to pick it up at verse one. Acts 8 and we going to pick it up at verse one. Acts 8 and we going to pick it up at verse one. Let's go deal with Saul. So now Acts 8 and we gonna pick it up at verse one. Go ahead and read. And Saul was cons consenting unto his death.

Go ahead. And at that time there was a great persecution against the church which was at Jerusalem. So now what what's going on now? They what what what's going on in Jerusalem? They got a great persecution against the church. So what's going on right here? These people being beat. They being killed, sisters and brothers. See that's what persecution ain't just being beat. It can also mean your life. Yes, sir. So now keep reading.

At that time there was a great persecution against the church which was at Jerusalem and they were all scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria except the apostles. See accept that the apostles didn't leave. We going to stay right here in Jerusalem and suffer whatever we got to deal with. So they were still in the temple preaching uh teaching about Jesus. Verse two, go ahead. And devout men carried stepping to his burial.

Go ahead. and made great levitation over him. So at this point we know Stephan what happened with Stephan now he was also killed during the time of the persecution that was in Jerusalem. But now look at this Saul guy. Go ahead. As for Saul as for Saul go ahead. He made havoc of the church. That's what he did. He made havoc of the church. Go ahead. Enter into every house. Go ahead. And hauling men and women committed them to prison.

Like I said, I had a brother say along, Paul was a kick though artist. Paul them will kick your dough in. And if you was doing anything with Jesus, they was hauling you both men and women now. And they committed them in the prison. But see, Paul going to have a change of mind, sisters and brothers. Something miraculous is going to happen with Paul. Let's go right off into Acts the 9th chapter. Acts nine. Acts nine now.

And we going to pick it up at verse one. Acts nine and pick it up at verse one. Go ahead, Elder. And Saul that breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord went unto the high priest and desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogue, that if he found him of his way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them down unto Jerusalem. Go ahead. And as he journeyed, he came near the master.

And suddenly there shine round about him, a light from heaven. Go ahead. And he fell to the earth. Go ahead. And heard a voice saying unto him, go ahead. Saul saw white persec. So now so we already we just saw Jesus did what? He ascended up to sit on the right hand of the father. Yes. But notice what he's saying to Paul. He said, Paul, what persecutest thou me? Now you killing other people. But the Lord said, "Why are you persecuting me?" So now verse five, go ahead.

And he said, "Go ahead. Who art thou, Lord?" Go ahead. And the Lord said, "I am Jesus whom thou persecuted." He said, "I am Jesus whom it is hard for thee to kick against the prick." It's hard for thee to kick against the prick, sisters and brothers. It was hard for him to go against the foundation that the scribes and Pharisees had already laid down. So it was hard for him to kick away from it. But Jesus showed himself unto him and said, "Why persecutest thou me?" So now verse six, go ahead.

And he trembling, and the starter said, Lord, what will thou have me to do? He didn't question him at all. Now he said, Lord, what would thou have me to do? Go ahead. And the Lord said unto him, Arise and go into the city. Go ahead. And it shall be told thee what thou must do. Go ahead. Then a man which so which journey with him stood speechless hearing a voice but seen no man. Go ahead. And saw arose from the earth.

And when his eyes were open he saw no man. Go ahead. But they led him by the hand and brought him to the divine. So he was three days without sight. So he couldn't see at all. Now this probably kind of messed his eyes up a little bit later on down the line because we know Paul had a vision problem. Now, when he saw all that light, he couldn't take it. His eyes couldn't take all that light because he saw We going to show, we going to show you what he saw.

But now, keep reading. Go ahead. No. And he was three days without sight. Go ahead. And neither did eat nor drink. So he was fasting at this time. Now, so now verse 10, go ahead. And there was a certain disciple at Damascus named Ananas. To him said the Lord in a vision, Ananas. And he said, "Behold, I am here, Lord." And the Lord said unto him, "Arise, and go into the street which is called straight." Go ahead. And inquire in the house of Judas, for one called Saul of Tarsus.

Go ahead. For behold, he prayed. He said, "Go see for Saul of Tarses." He said, "For behold, he prayed." Now, go ahead. 12. And seen in a vision a man named Ananas coming in and putting his hand on him that he might receive his sight. Go ahead. Then Ananas answered, "Lord, I have heard by many of this man how much evil he have done to thy saints at Jerusalem." Go ahead. And here he have authority from the from the chief priests to bind all that call on thy name.

He had a whole lot of power now, but he had heard of all of the evil that he had done in Jerusalem. So this guy committed murder. He was there when Stephan got killed. But what happened? The Lord still used them, sisters and brothers, sir. The Lord still used him. So now, keep reading. Go ahead. 15. But the Lord said unto him, Go ahead. Go thy way. Go ahead. For he is a chosen vessel unto me. Go ahead. To bear my name before the Gentiles, a king.

Go ahead. And the children of Israel. So he Well, he wasn't going to only now be the apostle to the Gentiles. He was also going to be the apostle also to the children of Israel. Because that's why in every city of the Gentiles that they went to, they always stopped at a synagogue of the Jews first. So now he said, "But the Lord said unto him, go thy way, for he is a chosen vessel unto me to bear my name before the Gentile and kings and the children of Israel." But now this is what we here for.

Pay attention to verse 16. Go ahead. For I will show him how great things he must suffer. Go ahead. for my name's sake. And boy, I cannot identify with a lot of what Paul is going to go through. Sisters and brothers. See, a lot of times the Lord will choose people to deal in certain situations. The way that he chose Job because he knew Job could handle it. He chose Paul to show Paul how much things he must suffer for his name's sake.

To suffer, sisters and brothers. So now, let's show you some of the things that he suffered. Let's go to First Corin the 4th chapter. 1 Corinthians 4. 1 Corinthians 4 and we gonna pick it up at verse 8. 1 Corinthians 4 and we going to pick it up at verse eight. Let's show you. Let's show you some of the things that he had to deal with. Sisters and brothers. 1 Corinthians 4 and we going to pick it up at verse 8. 4 and 8.

Go ahead and read. Now you are full. Now you are rich. Because he talking to the Corinthians now. So the Corinthians was rich. probably the richest out of all of the seven churches of the Gentiles, but they were also the most disobedient to Paul and also to the Lord rather. So now he said, "Now ye are full, now ye are rich." Go ahead, ye read. Now ye have reigned as kings. But notice he said, "You have reigned as kings without us." Go ahead.

And would to God ye did reign. Go ahead. That we also might reign with you. He said he was to God that they would have reigned so they could have reigned with them. Why did he say that? The same reason why Joseph had reigned with Piper because he was over the land and got the land straight. So that's the reason why Paul has said he wanted them to reign that he might been able to reign with them and have a righteous kingdom.

But now keep reading. Go ahead. Nine. For I think that God has set forth us the apostles last. Go ahead. As it were appointed to death. As it were appointed to death. So now keep reading. Go ahead. For we are made a spectacle unto the world. Go ahead. And to angels and to men. You see how you are when you are true Christian and you truly living right. That's what you are. That's what you are. See when everybody look at me the first well the first thing they say, "Oh, he got to be from the hood.

He got to be a hard man." And then they treat me with respect. But as soon as I say in Jesus name, thank you brother. And I put that you put that spiritual voice on then they start talking to you anyway. Well, go ahead. Go get on out the way because you don't mean nothing to them again. Why? Because they know you a good person. So this is how the world truly looks at the real people that serve the Lord, sisters and brothers.

So now he said, "For I think that God has set forth us the apostles last as it were appointed unto death. For we had made a spectacle unto the world and to angels and to men." So now what did Paul say at verse 10? Go ahead. We are fools for Christ's sake. Go ahead. But ye are wise in Christ. He said, "We are fools for Christ's sake, but you are wise in Christ." Why did he say we are fools for Christ? Cuz we getting beat up.

We getting done wrong. But see, ain't nothing ain't nothing really happening to y'all like that. So you are wise in Christ. So now keep reading. Go ahead. We are weak, but you are strong. He said, "We are weak, but you are strong." Go ahead. You are honorable. That's what he told him. You are honorable, but what are the true servants? Go ahead. But we are despised. But we are despised, sisters and brothers. So now keep reading.

Even unto this present hour, he said, even unto this present hour, Go ahead. We both hunger. We both hunger. Go ahead. And thirst. Go ahead. And are naked. Go ahead. And are buffeted. What you think buffeted mean? Buffeted means they was beat, sisters and brothers. They was beat up. See, a lot of us, we just got to deal with a little lip service and people talking about us. But these guys was actually beat for what they believe in, sisters and brothers.

They was beat down for it. Go ahead. And have no certain dwelling place. Go ahead. And labor working with our own hand. Go ahead. Being reviled. Go ahead. We bless. Notice what he said. Being reviled, we blessed. Oh no. Well, forget me. Well, forget you, too. No, it don't work like that, sisters and brothers. That's how we want it to work. But it don't supposed to work like that. He said in labor working with our own hands.

He said, "Being reviled, we blessed." Go ahead and read. Being persecuted, go ahead. We suffer. He said, "Being persecuted, we suffering." Go ahead. Being defamed. Go ahead. We intreat. But see, as they as he being defamed, we entreat you to learn the gospel. Even though you are defameing us, but now keep reading. Go ahead. We are made as the filth of the world. Go ahead. And are the offscoring of all things unto this day.

Go ahead. I write not these things to shame you. Go ahead. But as my beloved sons, I warn you. As my beloved sons, I'm warning you. This what's going to happen to the true believers in the Lord, sisters and brothers. So now I I I I very much believe in this verse right here. And I'm going go ahead and read that verse uh 15. Go ahead. For thou for though ye have 10,000 instructors in Christ. Go ahead. Yet have ye not follow.

That's like I say all the time. I ain't got no problem saying he got too many teachers in Israel. Man, it's too many sometimes. He said, "For though you have 10,000 instructors in Christ, yet have ye not many fathers." See, it ain't many fathers like Buoie and Danny around. See, those are fathers. Those are what Lord willing, one day I would love to grow into. Although we got many masters walking around here and and a lot of times that can be kind of detrimental because people can come in with their own mind and twist away from the foundation that was already laid sisters and brothers.

So a whole lot of that don't really impress me like that. But now keep reading. Go ahead. For in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel. Wherefore I beseech you. Be ye followers of me. He said wherefore I beseech you. He said, "Be ye followers of me." And I can understand why, you know, why Paul would say that. You know, be ye followers of me because if you are being taught by me, I know you going to be taught right.

Yes, sir. That's why I tell people all the time, you in good hands like all state at the first born because we make sure that you Okay. Yes, sir. So, now let's keep reading. Let's go to Second Corinthians 11. Now, 2 Corinthians 11. 2 Corinthians 11. And we going to pick it up at verse one. 2 Corinthians 11. And we gonna pick it up at verse one. I ain't gonna let nothing come out of my mouth that I have not studied over and over and over again before I give it to the people.

Oh, I'm 2 Corinthians 11:16. Thank you, Elder. 2 Corinthians 11. And let's pick it up at verse 16. Cuz now he getting ready to boast himself a little bit. And I can understand why. You know, sometimes, you know, you don't get no respect. And Paul start getting the respect from the Corinthians. They start listening to other people. So now Paul getting ready to boast himself a little bit about it, but he also going to tell you some of the things that he had to suffer.

Second Corinthians 11 and pick it up at verse 16. Go ahead. I say again, let no man think me a fool. Go ahead. If otherwise yet as a fool receive me, go ahead. That I may boast myself a little. He said that I may boast myself a little bit. I understand where he coming from right here. Verse 17. Go ahead. That which I speak, I speak it not after the Lord. Go ahead. But as it were foolishly in this confidence of boasting of boasting.

Go ahead. Seeing that many glory after the flesh. Go ahead. I will glory also. We going to point out to you later, seeing that many glory after the flesh, he said, I will glory also. I'm going to show you what that mean a little bit later. So now verse 19. Go ahead. For ye suffered fools gladly. Go ahead. Seeing seeing ye yourselves are wise. Go ahead. For ye suffer. If a man bring ye into bondage, gohead. If a man devour you, go ahead.

If a man take of you, go ahead. If a man exalt himself, if a man smite, you are in the face. See, ain't none of this happened to you. Corinians, y set up here. You got it made now. Now, it's good that you have turned to Christ and that you are following the doctrine of Christ. But see, none of this has happened to you. He said, "For if you suffer, if a man bring you into bondage, if a man devour you, if a man take of you, if a man exalt himself, if a man smite you on the face, these guys was getting beat for the word of God." Verse 21, go ahead.

I speak as concerning reproach. I speak as concerning reproach. Go ahead. As though we have been weak. How be it wheresoever any is bold. Go ahead. I speak foolishly. Go ahead. I am bold also. So, so now what did he say? Go ahead. Are they Hebrews? Go ahead. So am I. So he put them down. He gohead on and tell them. Paul, go ahead on and tell them. He said, "Are they Hebrews?" He said, "So am I." Go ahead. Are they Israelites?

Go ahead. So am I. He said, "Are they Israelites?" So am I. I ain't got no doctrine from no apocrypha. I don't read from the book of Jasher. We ain't reading nothing from the book of Enoch. The only Bible that the only word that you getting is coming straight out of the Bible. He said, "Are they Hebrews? So am I. Are they Israelites? So am I. Go ahead. Are they the seed of Abraham? Go ahead. So am I. Go ahead. Are they ministers of Christ?

Go ahead. I speak as a fool. Go ahead. I am more. He said I'm more. That's what he said. He said he said, "Are they ministers of Christ?" He said, "I speak as a fool." He said, "I am more." Go ahead and read. And laborers more abundant. I cannot agree with that. He said, "And labors more abundant." Go ahead and read. And stripes above measure. Notice what he said. And stripes above measure. So now we getting down to the title of the lesson, sisters and brothers.

He So now go ahead and read in prisons were frequent. Go ahead in death's office. See ye experienced all of this as being a man of God. Once he turned to the Lord, he said, I'm going to show you what you got to suffer for my name's sake. He said, I'm in labors more abundant and strikes above measures and prisons more frequent and deaths off. Verse 24, go ahead. of the Jews five times receive thy 40 stripes save one.

He said of the Jews five times I received 40 stripes saved once. Five times this man was beat on his back. And we going to show you a little bit later what it looked like. Keep reading. Go ahead. 25 Thrice was I beaten with rods. Thrice was I beaten with rod. Rods. That mean they all standing over you. You being baptized cuz they can't see you. you baldled up while they beating you with a stick. All of this these people went through for the word of God.

Go ahead and read. Once I was stoned, once he was even stoned, sisters and brothers, go ahead. I suffered shipwreck a night and a day. I have been in the deep. Go ahead. And journeys often in perils of water. Go ahead. In perils of rock. You know they got the money bag walking. They man, give me that money you got right there. Give me that tide bag money right there that you got. See, he said, he said, "In perils of robbers." Go ahead and read.

In perils by my own countrymen. In perils by my own nation. Now, that's the nation of Israel. In perils by my own countrymen. You had 40 men that took a vow and said, "We not going to eat or drink until we have killed Paul." Keep reading. Go ahead. And perils by he by the heathen. And perils by the heathen. Go ahead. And perils in the city. And perils in the wilderness. and perils in the sick. Go ahead. And perils among false brethren.

That's one we don't like to talk about too much, but he said in pearls by false brethren, sisters and brothers, you know, I'mma go ahead on and just going to throw it out there. Mo, when I was growing up, most of the people that I was cool with right off the rip, we shaking hands, we friends. Nine times out of 10, them being up being my enemies. But it was the ones when we were we had a couple of differences that we had to earn out.

Later on came up, best friends are my best brothers. That's why the God tell you don't count nothing before the time. But a lot of people don't like to deal with it. But he said in pearls among false brethren. People going to come in like they your brother or they your sister, but then they going to turn around and break covetousness with you, run away from you. See, Paul had to deal with all of this, sisters and brothers.

So now verse 27, go ahead. And weariness and painfulness. And weariness and painfulness. Go ahead. In watchings often in watchings often. Okay, you watch for the first two hours. I'm going to watch the last three hours of the night. He said, "In watchings often." Go ahead. In hunger and in thirst, and fastings often, and cold and nakedness, go ahead. Beside those things that are without that which cometh upon me daily, the care of all the churches, who is weak, I am not weak.

Go ahead. Who is offended? Go ahead. And I burn not. Go ahead. If I must need glory, I would glory of the things which concern my infirmity. And I'm learning to do that a little bit more. You know, Lord, I need a little bit of this. Lord, I need a little bit of that. Guess what? You know, we ain't even had no page. I ain't even asked for the page. I got a text saying, hey, man, we got your page ready. And I'm like, Lord, thank you for that.

But see, that's what it is now. Because I gloring I glory down when the things that we need because I know that's what's really goes on in the churches. So he said, "If I must need's glory, I will glory of the things which concern my infirmities, sisters and brothers, the things that you need, the the healing that you need, that's what you glory in." Verse 31, go ahead. The God and father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which is blessed forever more.

Go ahead. Know that I lie not. Go. He knoweth that I lie not. Go ahead and read. In Damascus, the governor under Artas Artas Aritus the king kept the city of Dam Damasines with a garrison desirous to apprehend me. So even in Damascus, they wanted to get him. Sisters and brothers, he wasn't done with him. So now verse 33, go ahead. And through a window in a basket was I let down by the wall. Go ahead. And escaped his hands.

And escaped his hands. This man had to get let down in a basket to get away from the people. That's how much he had to deal with, sisters and brothers. And that's what we going to have to deal with as men and women of God. So now, let's go right off into 2 Corinthians 12. 2 Corinthians 12. And we going to pick it up at at verse one. 2 Corinthians 12. And we going to pick it up at verse one. When you get there, go ahead, Elder.

It is not expedient for me doubtless to glory. Go ahead. I will come to visions and revelations of the Lord. Go ahead. I knew a man in Christ about 14 years ago. Whether in the body I cannot tell, or whether out of the body, I cannot tell. Go ahead. God knoweth. Such a one caught up to the third heaven. Go ahead. And I knew such a man, whether in the body or out of the body, I cannot tell. Go ahead. God knoweth. He said God knoweth it.

Go ahead and read. How that he was caught up into paradise and heard unspeakable words which is not lawful for a man to utter. Of such and one will I glory yet of myself I will not glory. Go ahead. But in mine infirmities. That's what he going in. Now he said now I'm going to glory in mine and infirmities. What did he say at verse six? For though I will desire the glory, I shall not be a fool. For I will say the truth.

And now I forare lest any man should think of me above that which he saith me to be or that he heareth of me. Go ahead. Unless I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations. There were was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure. Go ahead. For this thing I besought the Lord thrice. Go ahead. That it might depart from me.

And he said unto me, my grace is sufficient for thee. That's what he said. He said, "My grace is sufficient for thee." Now, go ahead and read. For my strength is made perfect in weakness. That's where your strength is when you think you're weak. When you think everything is going wrong, that's why I say when the flesh when flesh fails, the spirit prevails, sisters and brothers. Yes, sir. When you think you at your wits end and you can't go no more.

That's really when you at your strongest. He said, "For my grace is sufficient for thee. My strength is made what? Perfect in weakness." So now read, go ahead. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Go ahead. Therefore I take places and necessities and persecutions and distresses for Christ's sake. Go ahead. For when I am weak, but when I am weak, go ahead.

Then I am strong. Then that's when he said I'm strong. Sisters and brothers, when you at your weak end, that's when you at your strongest. So, let's always remember that. So, now we getting almost there. Let's go to Galatians 2 now. Galatians 2. Galatians 2 and we going to pick it up at verse one. Galatians 2 and we going to pick it up at verse one. Galatians 2 and we going to pick it up at verse one. Let's show you now.

Let's get down when they was talking about the flesh and all of this stuff. And let's show you what else he had to deal with when he was saying in pearls by his own countrymen. We going to get a little bit of glimpse of this right here because at this time now if you go read in Acts the 13th chapter, you had the the the scribes and the Pharisees, they tried to turn the Gentiles away from serving the Lord by doing animal sacrifices.

So now let's go to Galatians 2. Galatians 2. And we going to pick it up at verse one. Galatians 2 and one. Go ahead and read. Then 14 years as I went up again to Jerusalem. 14 years after I again went up to Jerusalem. Go ahead. With partners, go ahead. And took Titus with me also. And I went up by revelation and communicated unto them that gospel which I preached among the Gentiles. Go ahead. But privately to them which were a reputation.

Well, he did it privately to them which was a reputation. Now, like Theopoulos, the one that we read about in Acts one, those were people that was held in reputation. So they didn't want to be openly known talking to men and women of God neither now. So he said, "But privately to them which were repetition, go ahead and read. Lest by any means I should run." Go ahead. Or had run in vain. Go ahead. But neither Titus who was with me being a Greek.

I said that not too long ago on a lesson now. So he had Titus and he had Timothy now. And we know that those were both Greeks. Go ahead and read was compelled to be circumcised. They compelled these guys to be circumcised. Go ahead. And that because of false brethren, unawares brought in who came in privately despite out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus. Go ahead. That they might bring us into bondage. That they might bring us into bondage.

And what they were saying, y'all got these Gentiles in the church and they ain't been circumcised or none of that. So, but but see, we going to show you that even they that was circumcised wasn't keeping the law. So what they was doing was trying to glory in the Gentiles flesh. But now verse four, I mean verse five, go ahead. To whom we gave place by subjection. Go ahead. No, not for in our Go ahead. that the truth of the gospel might continue with you.

Go ahead. But of these who seem to be somewhat, whatsoever they were, it maketh no matter to me. Go ahead. God except no man's person. or they who seem to be somewhat in in conference added nothing to me. Go ahead. But contrawise, contrarywise, but they saw that the gospel of the uncircumcision was committed unto me as the gospel of the circumcision was committed unto Peter. Go ahead. For he that brought u effectually and Peter to the apostilhip of the circumcision the same was mighty in me toward the Gentiles.

So we were both pretty popular teachers. Now so we had Paul who was the minister of to the Gentiles or to the heathen. And then we had Peter who was the the apostle to the people of the circumcision. But now he getting ready to check them right here. Verse nine. Go ahead. And when James, Cphus, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that was given unto me, they gave to me and brought us the right hands of fellowship, that we should go unto the heathen, and they unto the circumcision.

But now, go ahead. Only they would that we should remember the poor. Go ahead. The same which I also was forward to do. the same which I was also forwarded to do. Now, but see, they all in the eating hall. So, they all eating together. But now, no, notice notice what Peter and John them did right here. Verse 11. Go ahead. But when Peter was come to Antioch, go ahead. I withtood him to the face. Go ahead. Because he was to be blamed.

So now he said, "But when Peter was come to Antioch, I withtood him to the face because he was to be blamed." Go ahead and read. For before that certain came from James, he said, "For before that certainty came from James." Go ahead and read. He did eat with the Gentiles. He did eat with the Gentiles. Go ahead and read. But when they were come, he withdrew and separated himself. Go ahead. Bringing them which were of the circumcision.

So, hey, I'm going to tell you that Peter was a tough guy, but Peter was scared of the circumcision. Now, so he couldn't deny what happened. We can go right to Acts 10 and show you that you sat down with Peter relating all of them. But when but once and them you explained yourself when they spat out your head. You had a whole lot to explain. But once the other Jews had came in, he got up from the table from eat with them to go eat over with his own people.

But now keep reading. Go ahead. 13. And the other Jews assembled likewise with him. And the other Jews assembled likewise with him. Go ahead. And so much that Barnabas also carried away with their dissimulation. See, this was when him and Barnabas really was starting to have problems a little bit. So, by the time they got to Acts 15, when they was talking about the circumcision, it was already a little tension between Barnabas and Paul because of the Gentiles now and because of this situation right here.

So, now verse 14, go ahead. But when I saw that they walked not uprightly according to the truth of the gospel, I said unto Peter before them all, if thou, being a Jew, livest after the manner of Gentiles, and not as do the Jews, why compelst thou the Gentiles to live as do the Jews? Why you compel them to live as the Jews? Now, so now verse 15, go ahead. I'm skip down uh skip down to verse 18. Skip down to verse 18.

Now for I for if I build again the things which I destroyed, go ahead, I make myself a transgressor. So now we offer that now. So he said, for if I build again the things which I destroyed, he said I make myself a transgressor. Now because we getting to the title, he said, for I bear my body to march to the Lord Jesus. So now verse 19, go ahead. For I through the law am dead to the law that I might live unto God. I am crucified with Christ.

Nevertheless, I live. Wait a minute. How you going to be crucified with Christ? You wasn't up there dying with Christ, right? But he got the same marks that's in him that Christ had. So when Christ was crucified on the cross, he also said, "I am crucified with Christ. Nevertheless, I live." Go ahead and read. Yet not I, but Christ liveth in me. Go ahead. And the life which I now live in the flesh. He said in the life which I now live in the flesh.

Go ahead and read. I live by the faith of the son of God. Go ahead. Who loved me and gave himself for me. I do not frustrate the grace of God. For if righteousness come by the law, go ahead. Then Christ is dead in vain. If righteousness had came by the law, then he said Christ is dead in vain. So this law is talking about the law as a whole, sisters and brothers. It's talking about the law as a whole. So it's a little bit bigger than the animal sacrifice right here.

He talking about the law as a whole. So now let's go off into Galatians 3 now. Galatians 3. And we got three more after this. Galatians 3 and let's pick it up at verse one. Galatians 3 and 1. So remember now I said it offend. You go read in Acts 13, the the the the the the circumcision came to the Gentiles and tried to get them to do these animal sacrifices again. So now let's deal with the law versus faith. Galatians 3 and1.

Go ahead. Oh foolish Galatians. Go ahead. Who have bewitched you? He said, "Oh foolish Galatians, who have bewitched you?" That means who tricked you. Now go ahead and read. that ye should not obey the truth before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth crucified among you. Go ahead. This only what I learned of you. Receive ye the spirit by the works of the law. Go ahead. Or by the hearing of faith. So that's basically what he asking in that did you receive the spirit by the works of the law or by the hearing of faith.

So now we know that the works of the law in this case this was when they was talking about sacrificing that cal. But now verse three, go ahead and read. They know Jesus had already died for that. So now verse three, go ahead. Are ye so foolish, having begun in the spirit? Go ahead. Are ye now made perfect by the flesh? Go ahead. Have ye suffered so many things in vain, if it be yet in vain? He therefore that ministerth to you the spirit and workketh miracles among you doeth he it by the works of the law or by the hearing of faith.

or by the hearing of faith. But guess how the Gentiles got it now. So now verse six. Go ahead. Even as Abraham believed God. Even as Abraham believed God. Go ahead. And it was accounted to him for righteousness. And it was accounted to him from righteousness. Now go ahead. Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, go ahead. The same are the children of Abraham. The same are the children of Abraham. Sisters and brothers.

See, it's your faith. It's your belief that's what make you strong. So you as you believe in your mind, you writing the laws and the scriptures in your mind as well. And that's what give you true faith, sisters and brothers. Yes. But now let's go off into Galatians 6. Galatians. We got one more. Okay. One more. Go ahead. Eight. And the scripture for seeing that God would justify the healing through faith preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, "In thee shall all nations be blessed." In these shall all nations be blessed.

Read verse nine. Go ahead. So then they which be of faith, go ahead. Are blessed with faithful Abraham. They going to be blessed with faithful Abraham. Sisters and brothers. Now let's go to Galatians 6. Galatians 6. because we gonna show you for all of the things that the people of God go through, it's going to be your your time gonna be coming real soon. But let's go to Galatians Galatians 6 now and let's pick it up at verse 9.

Galatians 6 and let's pick it up at verse 9. When you get it, when you get there, go. We had this in the lesson last week, but we want you to read this one more time now. Read that verse nine. Go ahead. And let us not be weary and welloing. Let us not be weary and welloing. Keep doing right for God. Keep doing right for the people. Don't get weary in it. Because see, sometimes people will get weary once you start to do the right thing.

They look at it as being boring or you think you might be doing it for no reason. You're not. He said, "And let us not be weary and welloing." Go ahead and read. For in due season we shall reap. Go ahead. If we faint not, we shall reap if we faint not. So don't fate. Don't faint on your salvation because you get a little persecution. Don't faint on it, sisters and brothers. You got to keep going the same way that Peter and James and John did.

So now verse 10. Go ahead. As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith. Go ahead. Ye see how large a letter I have written unto you with mine own hand. As many as desired to make a fair show in the flesh, go ahead. They constrain you to be circumcised. Go ahead. Only lest they should suffer persecution for the cross of Christ. And see, they didn't want to deal with the with the persecution of the cross of Christ.

These men in the word didn't want to deal with that. So, as many as desire to make a fair show in the flesh, they constrain you to be circumcised. That's what they did to Titus. Now he said only least they should suffer the persecution for the cross of Christ. So Paul wasn't saying you didn't have to be perh circumcised. He was just bringing in a new nation the way Abraham way the Lord brought Abraham along. That's why he talked about Abraham.

So now verse 13 go ahead. For neither they themselves who are circumcised keep the law. Go ahead. But desire to have you circumcised that they may glory in your flesh. Go ahead. But God forbade that I should glory save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. That's the only thing that he was going to glory in now save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. So we remember that Christ that cross uh that that that cross that Christ had to bear.

Well, he was going to get crucified. So now that and he was being persecuted. So that's the only thing that Paul is talking about glorifying in. So now keep reading. Go ahead. By whom the world is crucified unto me. Go ahead. and I unto the world. So he said it again. Now he said, "By whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world." So now verse 15, go ahead. For in Christ Jesus, neither circumcision avail nor uncircumcision.

Go ahead. But a new creature, but a new creature. That's the whole main goal now. So we want you to get circumcised. We won't baptize you unless you are. But we want you to also walk in the steps of Christ. So he saw in Christ Jesus, neither circumcision availth anything nor uncircumcision, but a new creature. So now verse 16, go ahead. And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be on peace be on them and mercy and upon the Israel of God.

And upon the Israel of God, verse 17, go ahead. From henceforth, let no man trouble me. Notice what he said. He said, "From henceforth, let no man trouble me." Go ahead and read. For I bear in my body. Go ahead. The marks of the Lord Jesus. We finally got down to the title of the lesson now. So now you got to understand he said, "For I bury in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus." So I just we all know that Paul got beat what five times?

Uh he got 40 stripes, save one. So we all we all know what this picture is. This a real common picture that we all know about. So if you've been whooped on your back, this probably how Paul's back looked. So when he said, "I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus." Just take a look at this picture. You ain't going to get whipped with the things they get whipped with, and your back don't look like this. That's the reason why Paul said, "For I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus." Sisters and brothers, that's spiritually and physically.

And he wasn't by himself. So now, was that it? That was it. Okay. Now, but now it ain't going to be the end. Let's go to Revelation 6. Now, Revelation 6. So, the the the true believers in God, they ain't going they ain't going to not be avenged. So, we we all know the Lord gonna come with vengeance now. So, let's go to Revelation 6. Revelation 6. And we going to read two verses right here. Revelation 6. And let's pick it up at verse 10.

Revelation 6 and 10. Go ahead and read. And they cried with a loud voice, saying, "How long, oh Lord, holy and true? Doesust thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?" So we going to be avenged, too, sisters and brothers. How we got whooped and beaten, how people treat us because we true believers in the Lord. So when the Lord come back, what is he going to do? He going to avenge his servants.

So now verse 11, go ahead. And white robes were given unto every one of them. He said, "And white robes were given to every one of them." Go ahead. And it was said unto them, Go ahead. That they should rest yet for a little while, little season until their fellow servants also and their brethren that should be killed as they were. Go ahead. It should be fulfilled. Should be fulfilled. So it ain't over with. So what you read in the past, just keep living.

Just keep living. Yes, sir. These days are coming back, sisters and brothers. for those that have not read that we are going to a time of Jacob's trouble. So we can only imagine what's going to be happen at that time. So now let's go to the last spot. Let's go to St. Luke the 18th chapter. St. Luke 18. He said, "For I bear my body to march to the Lord Jesus." I know I'm walking right. That's right. So you know and it ain't no easy.

It ain't no cakewalk. But you know, like I say, just keep living, sisters and brothers. One day you gonna get a white robe. I hope he give me one that you give me a special fitted one. My stomach getting big now. Give me a special fitted white white robe, you know, to go over my stomach. Cover me up, Lord. Good evening. Yes, sir. Hey, good evening up there. So, now let's go to St. Let's go to St. St. Luke the 18th chapter.

Now, some uh St. John. Let's go to St. Luke 8. Yes, sir. St. Luke 18, rather. And we gonna pick it up at verse one. St. Luke 18. And we gonna pick it up at verse one. I can't wait y'all. It's it's that that's all we have is our hope. What else do we have? You ain't got nothing else but hope in the Lord Jesus. So the only thing that you can hope for is that you make it into the kingdom. And if you ain't going to turn back, then you saved right now.

You if you ain't going to turn back from this gospel, you going to have a crown laid up for you later on in life. So now let's go to St. Luke the 18th chapter. Now let's pick it up at verse verse one. This the last spot. Go ahead and read. And he spoke a parable unto them to this end that men ought always to pray. Go ahead. And not to faith. And we do. We do it all the time. You should be praying three times a day, sisters and brothers.

You should be praying three times a day. Keep praying. Some one spot say seven, but we going to give you the benefit of the doubt and at least give you three. So now verse two. Go ahead. saying, "There is in a city a judge which feared not God, neither regarded him." Go ahead. Regarded man, and there was a widow in that city, and she came unto him, saying, "Avenge me of my adversary." Go ahead. And he would not for a while.

Go ahead. But afterward he said within himself, "Though I fear not God, nor regard man." Go ahead. Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continue coming, she will. All you got to do, keep praying. Keep praying, sisters and brothers. Keep praying. Keep praying for the persecution that you going through. Keep praying for the hardships that you have and you need to also glory in them. Don't always glory when things is going good.

You need to also glory when things are going bad. Yes, sir. So now verse six, go ahead and read. And the Lord said, here what the unjust judge sayaith? Go ahead. And shall not God avenge his own elect which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them. Go ahead. I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the son of man cometh, go ahead. Shall he find faith on the earth? See, that's the same faith that he looking for.

See, God going to avenge you speedily. Are you gonna serve him speedily? Are you gonna serve him with faith? That's what the Lord is asking. He said, "Can I find this same faith on the earth?" Verse nine, go ahead. And he sp this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous and despised others. Go ahead. Two men went up into the temple to pray. Go ahead. And one a Pharisee and the other a publican.

The Pharisees stood and prayed thus with himself. God, I thank you that I am not as other men are extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as dispel. So you can't, you can't, you know, don't say this. Don't say I thank God that I am not like as these other men are extortioners, unjust, and adulterers, or you were before. You was an adulterer before. You was a fornicator before. So you don't want to separate yourself.

Just like Paul said, in order to save people, I became like them that I may save some. So, you want to be like, I'm I'm not an extortioner like this guy. I'm not like this like that guy. You don't want to have that kind of attitude with God. So, now keep reading. Go ahead. 12. I fast twice in the week. Go ahead. I give tithe of all that I that I possess. And I know we on our fourth month fast. That's why I threw this in.

He said, I fast twice in a week. I give tithes of all that I possess. So when you are fasting to the Lord, you want to make sure that you doing it with a clear, open, and godly mind every time you fast. Yes, sir. That's what you want. That's why I threw this in here. So don't get all bent up because we're fasting. You fasting, but you need to have a certain mindset while you fasting. So now keep reading. Go ahead. 13.

And the publican standing a far off, go ahead. would not lift up so much as his eyes in the heaven. Go ahead. But smoke upon his breath, saying, "God, be merciful to me a sinner." That's the attitude to have. God, be merciful to me a sinner because no matter how much that I'm serving you, I know that my righteousness is as what? Filthy rags before you, Father. Yes, sir. So now verse 14, go ahead. I tell you, go ahead.

This man went down to his house justified rather than the other. For everyone that exaltth himself shall be abased, and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted. Go ahead and read. And they brought unto him also infants that he would touch them. They brought infants to him that he may touch them. But what happened? Go ahead. But when his disciples saw it, go ahead. They rebuked them. They said, "Make get that little baby up out of here, man.

Get that baby off." But that that's what that was what the Lord was on. See the Lord giving you something spiritual right here. What did he say at verse 16? Go ahead. But Jesus called them unto him and said, "Suffer little children to come unto me." Go ahead. And forbid them not. Go ahead. For of such is the kingdom of God. That's what the kingdom of God is. We all little children that's going to be in the kingdom. So now verse 17, go ahead.

Verily I say unto you, whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, go ahead. He shall in no wise enter therein. That means if you if you if you if you if you are built up, you don't have no humility. You got to have the same humility that a child have if you go to make it off into the kingdom of God. So now verse 18, let's show you what all you got to do to have eternal life. Verse 18, go ahead and read.

And a certain ruler asked him, saying, "Good master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?" Go ahead. And Jesus said unto him, "Why causest thou me good? None is good, save one, that is God. Thou knowest the commandments. Do not commit adultery. Do not kill. Do not steal. Do not bear false witness." Go ahead. Honor thy mother, thy father, and thy mother. These these are the questions that I asked both guys that was standing for me.

One was from one was from the Dominican Republic and the other one was from here. And couldn't neither one of them ask what was the very first verse in the ten commandments. That let us know we got work to do. Sisters and brothers, we don't have time to judge. So now he said, "Thou knowest the commandments. Do not commit adultery. Do not kill. Do not steal. Do not bear false witness and honor thy father and thy mother." And that is for I bear leave the body of the marks of the Lord Jesus.

And we hope you got some understanding in this. Thank y'all for your time. So we going to call we going to call our beautiful elder to come up here and read the law. Yes sir. Exodus 20 1-1 17. And God spake all these words, saying, I am the Lord thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. Thou shalt have no other gods before me. Thou shall not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of anything that is in the heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.

Thou shall not bow down thyelves to them, nor serve them. For I, the Lord thy God, am a jealous God, visiting the inequity of the fathers upon the children, unto the third and fourth generations of them that hate me, showing mercy unto thousands of them that love me and keep my commandments. Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain. For the Lord will not hold them guilst take this name in vain. Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy.

Six days shalt thou labor and do all thy work. But the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord thy God. And it thou shalt not do any work. Thou nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy man's servant, nor thy maid servant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates. For in the six days the Lord made the heaven, the earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day. Wherefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day, and all of it.

Amen. Honor thy father and thy mother, that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee. Thou shalt not kill. Thou shalt not commit adultery. Thou shalt not steal. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor. Thou shalt not coveret thy neighbor's house. Thou shalt not coveret thy neighbor's wife, nor his man's servant, nor his maid, nor his ax, nor his ass, nor anything that is thy neighbor.
