I the Lord Search the Hearts, I Try the Reins

In this Sabbath lesson from Israel Church of the Firstborn in Indianapolis, Brother Obadiah teaches on Jeremiah 17:10, I the Lord search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways. The lesson is a call to self examination. God does not only see what a man does in front of people, He searches the heart and the mind, and He tries His servants as individuals and Israel as a nation to see what truly dwells within. From Paul's charge to examine yourself, to the hypocrisy of the scribes and Pharisees, to Jeremiah, the wilderness, and the evil thoughts that proceed out of the heart, every passage is read in the King James Version.

1.Examine Yourself, Whether Ye Be in the Faith

Brother Obadiah opens with Paul writing to the Corinthians, warning that a person can sit right in the church and still be full of unrepented sin. Paul feared what he would find when he came to them.

2 Corinthians 12:20-21 KJV

20For I fear, lest, when I come, I shall not find you such as I would, and that I shall be found unto you such as ye would not: lest there be debates, envyings, wraths, strifes, backbitings, whisperings, swellings, tumults:

21And lest, when I come again, my God will humble me among you, and that I shall bewail many which have sinned already, and have not repented of the uncleanness and fornication and lasciviousness which they have committed.

"I know it is some of you that is living the truth, but I know it is a lot of people that is around that is not living the truth, but they act like they living the truth. These people was in the church, they was hanging around in the church, but he said they had already sinned, and most importantly, they have not repented of the sins that they have already committed."

Before God examines a man, Paul says, the man must first examine himself.

2 Corinthians 13:5 KJV

5Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?

"Before God examine you, this is what you got to do with yourself. You got to examine yourself. Am I walking right? Am I practicing what I'm preaching? Am I loving the way that I supposed to? You got to examine yourself, because God going to examine you next. That is what makes the foundation of a strong Christian, when you are able to go before the Lord and prove that you are living exactly the way that Christ lived when he was on the earth."

2.Clean the Outside of the Cup

He turns to Matthew the twenty third chapter, where Jesus calls the scribes and the Pharisees hypocrites. They looked righteous to men on the outside, but within they were unclean.

St. Matthew 23:25-28 KJV

25Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess.

26Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also.

27Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men’s bones, and of all uncleanness.

28Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.

"One thing man can clean the outside of the cup and make himself look like he's holy in front of the people. Come in class and tell everybody happy Sabbath, happy Sabbath, but inside you dirty. You can get away and hide from man, but you can't hide from the Lord. You got a whole lot of Christians walking around like that today, shaking and faking in the word of God. But guess what? The Lord know all of that. So you can't get away from him."

3.Judge Me, O Lord: Try My Reins and My Heart

The lesson then shows the other side of it, the servant who knows he is walking right and asks the Lord to search him. In Psalms the twenty sixth chapter, David invites the examination.

Psalms 26:1-2 KJV

1Judge me, O LORD; for I have walked in mine integrity: I have trusted also in the LORD; therefore I shall not slide.

2Examine me, O LORD, and prove me; try my reins and my heart.

"You already know you got to examine yourself, but what if you already on track, what if you know that you living right? He said, examine me, O Lord, and prove me, try my reins and my heart. I want you to look into my mind and see am I thinking dirty. I want you to look inside of me and see is there any uncleanness that lies within my body, and if so, I got to repent and get it out."

In Psalms the seventh chapter, read as Jesus speaking through the mouth of David, the same request is made before the judgment.

Psalms 7:8-9 KJV

8The LORD shall judge the people: judge me, O LORD, according to my righteousness, and according to mine integrity that is in me.

9Oh let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end; but establish the just: for the righteous God trieth the hearts and reins.

"He said, judge me, O Lord, according to my righteousness. That means you asking the Lord to try you. You telling the Lord that you doing right, so once you stand before him in judgment, you know you going to pass the mission. For the righteous God trieth the hearts and reins. I'mma see where you are, I'mma see where your mind is."

4.The Heart Is Deceitful Above All Things

In Jeremiah the seventeenth chapter, the lesson draws the line between the man who trusts in man and the man who trusts in the Lord, one a dry shrub in the desert, the other a tree planted by the waters.

Jeremiah 17:5-8 KJV

5Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD.

6For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited.

7Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.

8For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.

"You got a lot of people, they trust in man, they wait on man to deliver them, but you ain't waiting on God to deliver you. That's what got Israel in trouble. But blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord. Once you hope in the Lord, you going to be like a tree planted by the waters. Once it get a little hot outside, you going to still keep on blooming and bringing forth fruit, because you got your trust in God."

Then comes the verse the lesson is named for, where the Lord says plainly what He does with every man.

Jeremiah 17:9-10 KJV

9The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

10I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.

"The heart is deceitful above all things. Don't listen to your mind all the time, your mind can get you in trouble with the Lord. We all know the old saying, the Lord know my heart. He does. The problem is, do you know your heart? He said, I the Lord search the heart, I try the reins, to give every man according to his ways. If you have sowed righteousness, then God going to give you righteousness back. But I'mma search you out."

5.He Tried the Nation and Found It Lacking

Jeremiah himself was walking right while the whole nation was sinning. In the twelfth chapter he pleads with God over why the wicked prosper, and God answers that they honor Him with their mouths while their hearts are far off.

Jeremiah 12:1-3 KJV

1Righteous art thou, O LORD, when I plead with thee: yet let me talk with thee of thy judgments: Wherefore doth the way of the wicked prosper? wherefore are all they happy that deal very treacherously?

2Thou hast planted them, yea, they have taken root: they grow, yea, they bring forth fruit: thou art near in their mouth, and far from their reins.

3But thou, O LORD, knowest me: thou hast seen me, and tried mine heart toward thee: pull them out like sheep for the slaughter, and prepare them for the day of slaughter.

"Jeremiah knew he was walking right, but the nation wasn't walking right. He said, wherefore doth the way of the wicked prosper? You go down the street, you see all these big old mega churches prospering, but when you listen to the doctrine, everybody in there is lying. He said, thou art near in their mouth, and far from their reins. They Jesus you to death, I love Jesus, but at the same time, that's not in their heart. But thou, O Lord, knowest me, and hast tried mine heart toward thee."

For preaching that word, Jeremiah was beaten and put in the stocks by Pashur, yet he could not hold the word in. Even in prison he confessed that the Lord tries the righteous.

Jeremiah 20:11-13 KJV

11But the LORD is with me as a mighty terrible one: therefore my persecutors shall stumble, and they shall not prevail: they shall be greatly ashamed; for they shall not prosper: their everlasting confusion shall never be forgotten.

12But, O LORD of hosts, that triest the righteous, and seest the reins and the heart, let me see thy vengeance on them: for unto thee have I opened my cause.

13Sing unto the LORD, praise ye the LORD: for he hath delivered the soul of the poor from the hand of evildoers.

"They finally got their hands on Jeremiah and put him in the prison, all because he was telling them what thus saith the Lord, and nobody wanted to hear it. He said his word was in my heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones. You can think that you can stop talking about it, but you not. But the Lord is with me as a mighty terrible one. O Lord of hosts, that trieth the righteous, and seeth the reins and the heart."

6.Proved in the Wilderness

The lesson goes back to Deuteronomy the eighth chapter, where God says outright why He led Israel forty years through the wilderness. It was to humble them and to know what was in their heart.

Deuteronomy 8:2-3 KJV

2And thou shalt remember all the way which the LORD thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or no.

3And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live.

"He led us these forty years in the wilderness. We was three days journey from getting into the land, but the Lord made us walk for forty years, because he had to humble us. He had to prove whether we would keep the commandments or not. And guess what? God gonna do that also with you. He gonna see what's in your heart, whether you will keep his commandments or no."

When Israel lost faith and murmured, God sent fiery serpents among them, then told Moses to lift a serpent on a pole so that whoever looked would live.

Numbers 21:8-9 KJV

8And the LORD said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live.

9And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived.

"By this time Israel didn't have no faith at all, so the Lord sent fiery serpents among the people. The serpent had represented Israel's sin, because when you go back to Genesis, the serpent was the devil. But when they looked on the pole at the fiery serpent, everyone that looked upon it, they lived. Every time they looked at that serpent on the pole, they had realized the sin that they had did."

Generations later that same pole became an idol, and the lesson shows righteous king Hezekiah destroying it because Israel had begun to worship it.

2 Kings 18:3-6 KJV

3And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, according to all that David his father did.

4He removed the high places, and brake the images, and cut down the groves, and brake in pieces the brasen serpent that Moses had made: for unto those days the children of Israel did burn incense to it: and he called it Nehushtan.

5He trusted in the LORD God of Israel; so that after him was none like him among all the kings of Judah, nor any that were before him.

6For he clave to the LORD, and departed not from following him, but kept his commandments, which the LORD commanded Moses.

"Hezekiah did that which was right in the sight of the Lord. He removed the high places, and he brake in pieces the brazen serpent that Moses had made, because Israel started to worship that thing, they started burning incense to that pole. He trusted in the Lord God of Israel, and he clave to the Lord, and departed not from following him. That's how you know you living right with the Lord."

7.Out of the Heart Proceed Evil Thoughts

David charged Solomon to serve God with a perfect heart, because the Lord searches not only the heart but the imaginations of the thoughts.

1 Chronicles 28:9 KJV

9And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the LORD searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever.

"David told Solomon, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind, for the Lord searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts. Even when you silent, he be in there saying, I see you, I see you. If thou seek him, he will be found of thee, but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off forever."

Isaiah calls the wicked to forsake not just his way but his thoughts, because the mind is the first place the enemy attacks.

Isaiah 55:7-9 KJV

7Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

8For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.

9For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

"Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, and that time is now. It's going to come a time you going to try to seek the Lord and you ain't going to be able to find him. Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts. You got to get your mind right, that's the first place where Satan is trying to get you, in your mind, in your heart."

In Mark the seventh chapter, Jesus exposes the Pharisees again, and teaches that defilement does not come from what enters a man but from what proceeds out of his heart.

St. Mark 7:6 KJV

6He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.

St. Mark 7:20-23 KJV

20And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man.

21For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,

22Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness:

23All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.

"This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me. We know people like that, they call on the name of the Lord, but he ain't in their heart. He said, that which cometh out of the man, that defiles you. For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts. When you have evil thoughts, that's what defiles a man, and God is watching to see does this dwell in your heart."

8.The Temple of the Living God

Because the servant is the temple of God, the lesson closes its teaching in Second Corinthians the sixth chapter with the command not to be unequally yoked, and to come out and be separate.

2 Corinthians 6:14-18 KJV

14Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

15And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?

16And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

17Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,

18And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

"Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers. What communion hath light with darkness? How you going to call yourself an Israelite, keep the laws of Moses, but you sitting off in church on Sunday with the unbelievers? For ye are the temple of the living God. So if your thoughts and your reins are not right, then your temple is not clean. He said, come out from among them, and be ye separate."

And in Proverbs the twenty first chapter, the reminder that a man will always justify himself, but the Lord weighs the heart behind it.

Proverbs 21:2 KJV

2Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the LORD pondereth the hearts.

"Every way of a man is right in his own eyes. You always got to be right, and that's the way every man think, ain't none of us exempt from that. But the Lord pondereth the hearts. That's what pondering mean, I'm pondering your heart, what's on your mind."

Closing Word

There is nowhere to hide from the One who searches the heart. David knew it, and the word of God itself is the discerner that finds it out.

Psalms 139:1-3 KJV

1O LORD, thou hast searched me, and known me.

2Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off.

3Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways.

Hebrews 4:12-13 KJV

12For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

13Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.

"O Lord, thou hast searched me, and known me. Whither shall I flee from thy presence? If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there. If I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. What you do in the dark gonna come to the light. The word of God is quick and powerful, a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart, and all things are naked and open unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do."

Revelation 2:23 KJV

23And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works.

Brother Obadiah closed on the words of the risen Christ to the churches, that the Lord searches the reins and the hearts and repays every man according to his works. The charge of the lesson is to examine yourself, keep your mind stayed on Him, and clean the inside of the cup, because God is already searching it out.

Let me know when you ready. Everybody. Yeah. Everybody mute the cell phones. Everybody mute the cellones. Okay y'all, we going to go ahead and we going to get started. Sorry for the delay. We had some people caught up in traffic, the read in particular. But we going to go ahead and we going to get started. We going to ask that the women cover your heads. Men, uncover your heads. We going to stand and face the holy, beautiful Jerusalem, the city of the great king. Our Father, Our Father, which art in heaven, which art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done. Thy will be done. In earth. In earth. As it is in heaven. As it is in heaven. Give us this day. Give us this day. Our daily bread. Our daily bread. And forgive us our debt. And forgive us our debts. As we forgive our debt towards as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation. And lead us not into temptation. But deliver us from evil. But deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom.

For thine is the kingdom and the power. and the power and the glory and the glory forever forever. It's in Jesus name we pray. It's in Jesus name we pray. The the God Almighty the God Almighty the author and finisher the author and finisher the Holy One of Israel the Holy One of Israel. Amen. Amen. Today's reading is coming from 1 Corinthians 2 verse 11 and 12. For what man knoweth the things of a man? For what knoweth the things of a man? Amen. Say the spirit save the spirit of of man which is in him of man which is in him.

Even so the things of God Even so the things of God knoweth no man knoweth no man but the spirit of God but the spirit of God. Now we have received Now we have received not the spirit of the world not the spirit of the world but the spirit which is of God but the spirit which is of God. that we might know that we might know the things that are the things that are freely given to us of God. freely given to us of God.

I just 112 reading him and doing of his holy word in Jesus name we pray. Amen. Amen. Yes sir. Okay y'all we going to proceed with our Sabbath script. We going to proceed with our Sabbath script. We want everybody to turn to Exodus the 35th chapter. Exodus 35 and we going to read verses 1 through3. Exodus 35 and we going to read verses 1 through3. And for those that don't know, those that are new, the Lord's Sabbath day is on Saturday. It's not on Sunday. The way that the world has taught you, sisters and brothers, and it kind of tie back in to what the elder read in the lesson.

now because we have not received the spirit of the world. The spirit of the world is everybody going to be in church tomorrow on the wrong day. And a lot of times we can't even necessarily fault the people for that. You can fault the pastor for that because it's the pastor that's not teaching the people of what the Sabbath day truly is. Even though he already knows, sisters and brothers. So let's go to Exodus the 35th chapter. Exodus 35. And we going to read verses 1 through3.

Exodus 35 and we gonna read verses one through three. When you get there, my beautiful beloved elder, go ahead and read. And Moses got it all. The congregation of his turn up Israel together and said unto them, these are the words which the Lord hath commanded. Go ahead. That ye should do this. So notice what he said now. So when God gives you a commandment, which we going to read about a little bit later. Now God intends for you to follow him. He said, "These are the words which the Lord had commanded that you should do them." So what did he say at verse two?

Go ahead. Six days shall work be done. Six days shall work be done. Go ahead. But on the seventh day, there shall be to you in holy days. It's a holy day, sisters and brothers. Like they they got at my job today. They got everybody working on Saturday. Everybody working today. But they already knew that I wasn't going to work. That's why they didn't ask me. So a lot of people came around. Well, we heard you ain't gonna be here tomorrow. Well, maybe I need to tell them that we keep it the Sabbath day.

And then I told them, "No, don't do that. One thing you don't want to do, you don't want to play with God about this, right?" And just so you can have Saturday off because this is a commandment. Now, this ain't nothing to play with. So, he said, "Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day there shall be to you a holy day." Go ahead and read. A Sabbath of rest to the Lord. A Sabbath of rest unto the Lord. Go ahead. Whosoever doeth work therein shall be put to death.

He said you shall be put to death sisters and brothers. So one thing you got to understand about the Sabbath day that if you work on this day that it's a death penalty that come behind it. Now sir so what's the other instructions that he gave you verse three go ahead you shall kindle no fire throughout your habitations upon the seventh day. That's why we don't cook on this day. Cooking is kindle in the fire or even making no unnecessary fires on this day. Right? So now let's go to another spot.

Let's go to St. Matthew the 13th chapter now because we got a lot of people say, "Well, you know, I polluted the Sabbath day and God ain't did nothing to me about it yet." But it's one thing that they have failed to read. Let's go to St. Matthew the 13th chapter and make some sense of this because like he just said, he said, "Whosoever do a work on the Sabbath day," what did he say? He said, "You gonna be put to death, sisters and brothers." So it ain't worth your life just to make a couple of extra chips on the side.

It it should it shouldn't even matter to you that way. But let's go to St. Matthew 13 and we going to pick it up at verse 7. See, God don't get you right now. God is the type of God that get you when you are most vulnerable for it. So when he get you for for polluting the Sabbath day, he going to get you at the end of the line. Let's go to St. Matthew the 13th chapter and let's pick it up at verse 27. We gonna read a little bit of this parable now.

So you can read this parable on your own, but let's pick it up in the middle of it. St. Matthew 13 and let's pick it up at verse 27. Go ahead and read. Yep. So the servants of the household householder came and said unto him, "Sir, did not thou s good seed in thy field?" Go ahead. For which then hath it tear? So now he said now he said the servant of the household came and said unto him he said didn't you sow good seed in the field but then there was some tears that grew up with this good seed.

Now so verse 28 go ahead he said unto them he said unto them go ahead an enemy hath done this an enemy had done this and that enemy is none other than Satan sisters and brothers Satan and his dominion and Satan and his government. He said an enemy had sold these terrors among the weak. Go ahead and read. The servant said unto him, "Ril thou then that we go and gather them up?" Go ahead. But he said, "Nay, he said, nay." Go ahead. Lest while you gather up the tears, ye root up also the wheat with them.

So now they asked the question because the reapers are the angels now. So if they was to take up everything now, then they would take some of the good people with them. Why did they say that? Because not even us that's serving in this word and we serving him in truth and in righteousness we still full of sin. Yes sir. So God has given us a chance to make it now. So he said in verse 28 he said unto them and enemy had done this the servant said unto them without them that we go and gather them up.

He said nay. Verse 29. Go ahead. But he said nay. He said nay. Go ahead. Lest while you gather up the t. He said least while you gather up the task. Go ahead. Ye root up also the wheat with them. Let both them let both grow together until the harvest. And in the time of the harvest, I will say to the reapers, gather ye together first through tears. Go ahead. And bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my bar. So that's why God ain't being unto you yet.

But when you pollute the Sabbath day, he said, "Let the weed and the tear grow together and he going to separate them at the time of harvest, sisters and brothers." So just because you getting away with doing things on the Sabbath day and God ain't got you yet, he going to get you when it most count. And that's going to be at the end of the line, sisters and brothers. That's why you want to total line with God all the way. And you want to make sure that you look at his Sabbath as being something holy and not permit or not doing sacrilege on this day.

Amen. So now with sacrilege is to teach something that's holy. Now you make it seem like it's unholy. So I want to praise the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. And peace to everyone here in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. I want to say happy Sabbath to my Indianapolis family. And also I want to say happy Sabbath to those watching in Cincinnati. And also I want to say happy Sabbath to those that's watching us in Connecticut, Brother Todd and your family. We also want to say happy Sabbath to you as well.

Yes, sir. And also we want to say happy Sabbath to those watching us via live Facebook and YouTube live. We also want to say happy Sabbath to you and we are glad to have you with us on the Lord's Sabbath day. And as usual, sisters and brothers, I want to give a round of applause for the brotherhood and the sisterhood. It was a tough week. It was a tough week for me in particular. That was something that I kept out of the brotherhood is that I completely tore my knee up last Saturday night.

But I made it through with all of the prayers and with all of the exhortation that our brother put in and we are here today. And also I want to give we got a future birthday. We got my son Kingston's birthday going to be tomorrow. Going to be 16 years old. I remember boy he was this big when they took him out of the womb. And the first time he opened his eyes, he opened his eyes to meet sisters and brothers. And now we got him sitting right here today.

And I love him to death. That's right. And also y'all, I want to pray for my wife. My wife going to be taking her flight down to Atlanta tomorrow. We want to make sure we save. We going to be suffering this week. We going to be eating Roman noodles like it ain't nothing. But we going we going to make it past. We might be eating a little peanut butter and jelly for a week, but we going to get past y'all. So anyway, let's get on with today's lesson.

I hope everybody last week had a beautiful fast and we all know with fasting come affliction now. So you got to be able to make it through. But you need to take all your petitions to the Lord. So today we got a very special lesson, sisters and brothers. And it's a lesson that I did about four or five years ago, but it's a whole it's a whole different lesson. You just see the lesson with the same title. So anytime we go back and redo a lesson again, we might use the same title, but we going to totally rework the lesson because as we get more advanced in the word of God, your understanding is going to become more fruitful and you are able to give more to the people on certain subjects.

So today, sisters and brothers, I want to let you know one thing. The Lord is watching us. Yes, he is. The Lord is watching me. The Lord is watching you. The Lord is watching your children. The Lord is watching your actions. The Lord is watching your speech. He's watching everything about you. So why is God watching you so much? For one, because you say you love him. For one, you say that anything that God has told you to do that you going to do it with no one certain turn.

And you have to believe that, sisters and brothers. But one thing God is going to do to you, you say that you love me. So what am I going to do? I'mma try you. I'mma try you to see if you love me. So one thing man can clean the outside of the cup and make himself look like he's holy. Make himself look like he's good in front of the people. Come in class and tell everybody happy Sabbath. Happy Sabbath. But inside you dirty. And see one thing God understand that.

See you can't hide from the Lord sisters and brothers. And one thing you got to understand which is the title of the lesson. He said I the Lord search the hearts and I try the rains. Amen. I the Lord search the hearts and I tried the reigns. See, you might think something in your mind and don't nobody around you have heard anything of what you said. But who heard what you said? The Lord heard it, sisters and brothers. Yes, sir. So, you can even think a certain thought in your head and I'mma search it out.

That's why God tell you all the time that your thoughts, your inner thoughts and the inside of you got to be clean before him because I'mma try you out to see where you are. So we gonna show you that he will try you as an individual and he is also going to try you as a nation because one thing that I do not want to be called as a man of God and us as men and women of God in this room. You do not want to be referred to as a hypocrite by the Lord sisters and brothers.

So we want to get off into the lesson. So the title of the lesson is once again I the Lord search the heart and I try the reigns. You cannot hide from the Lord sisters and brothers. So let's go to 2 Corinthians the 12th chapter. 2 Corinthians 12. We going to read off into 2 Corinthians 12 and verse 19 so you can get full understanding of when we go into the next chapter. So one thing like I say in the lessons all the time that he was always trying the Corinthians because he had a lot of people that were the Corinthians.

Now a lot of them was living right. But then it was a lot of pe people that was with the Corinthians that was living wrong. And the Corinthians were the ones that had all of the power more than all of the other gentile classes. So Paul watched them in particular now, but it was a lot of them that was saying it, but they was acting like they was righteous, but they were not. So now let's go to 2 Corinthians 12 now, and we going to pick it up at verse 19.

2 Corinthians 12, and we going to pick it up at verse 19. When you get there, my beautiful beloved elder, go ahead and read again. Think ye that we excuse ourselves unto you. Go ahead. We speak before God in Christ, but we do all things dearly, beloved, for your edify. So once you get off into the ministry and you start telling people about the word of God, and you giving them the laws and statutes, not only are you helping yourself, but you are also edifying the people that don't know anything about God.

See, that's what this whole walk is all about. That's what he told Peter. He said once you are converted you got to go and strengthen your brethren. So that's what Paul then was doing at this case now. So he said we do all things for your edified. But now notice what he said at verse 20. Go ahead and read. For I fear lest when I come I shall find you such as I would and that I shall be found unto you such as ye would not.

Such as you would not. Now, so basically what Paul is saying here, I know it's some of y'all that's living the truth, but I know it's a lot of people that's around that's not living the truth as well, but they act like they living the truth. That's why we going to say you can't get away from the Lord, sisters and brothers. But now, what else did he say? Go ahead and read. Let there be debates. Lest there be debates. Go ahead. Envyings, wrath, stripes, backbitings, whisperings, swellings, tumult.

So if you want to break your class up, this is the way that you do it. And this why God, he tells us to stay away from these type of conversations. He said, "Unto you such as would not." He said, "Least there be debates, envies, wrath, strikes, backbitings, whispering, swelling, and tootes." Verse 21, go ahead. And le when I come again, my God will humble me among you. So he said, "When I come among you again, I'mma have to be humble now because I might have to get at some of y'all.

So I got to remember what I'm in this for." Go ahead and read. And that I shall be well many. He said, "Which I shall be on many." Go ahead. Which have sinned already. Go ahead. And have not repented of uncleanness and fornication, unless seriousness go which they have committed. But see, these people was in the church, sisters and brothers. They was hanging around in the church now. But he said they had already sinned and most importantly they have not repented of the sins that they have already committed.

They didn't they didn't repent of their fornication. They didn't repent of their lasciviousness which is unbridled lust which they have already committed and was proven sisters and brothers. Right? So now let's go into second Corinthians 13 and pick it up at verse one. 13 and one. Go ahead and read. This is the third time I am coming to you. In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established. Go ahead. I told you before and for tell you as if I were as if I was present.

Kind of like the shirt that our beloved Elder David got on today. See, Paul was in prison when he wrote this letter. Now, so Paul wrote these letters to the churches to keep them right when he was in his absence. So in verse two he said I told you before and foretell you as if I was present the second time. Go ahead. And being absent now I write to them which here to fath. And to all others that I that if I come again go ahead I will not spare.

So now he said when I come to you the next time I ain't going to spare you no more. That means I'mma tell you exactly what you doing that why you wrong about it. So now keep reading verse three. Go ahead. She seek a proof of Christ speaking in me which to you you were is not weak. Go ahead. But is mighty in you but is mighty in you. Go ahead. For though he was crucified through weakness. So he talking about Jesus now. He said though he was crucified through weakness.

Go ahead and read. Yet he lived by the power of God. But yet he lived by the power of God. See that's how Jesus lived. See Jesus knew that he was in the flesh. He even allowed the people to kill him now. But he liveth through power through the through the through the father. So now keep reading. Go ahead. But we also are weak in him. And we also are weak in him. Sisters and brothers. Tell us that we not tell us that we don't get weak.

Sometimes we do. Yes, sir. But we keep on trotting his walk even though we weak. Now he said, "For we also are weak in him. But how do we live?" Go ahead. But we shall live with him by the power of God toward you. Go ahead. Examine yourself. See, before God examine you, this is what you got to do with yourself. You got to examine yourself. Am I walking right? Am I practicing what I'm preaching? Am I loving the way that I supposed to? Am I treating every man and every woman and every child the same way that I want to be treated?

So, you got to examine yourself because God going to examine you next. So, he said, "Examine yourselves." Go ahead and read. Whether you be in the faith, whether you be in the faith, if you got any problem with coming to class on a Sabbath, then you weak in the faith. You weak in the faith, right? Cuz you have done everything that you wanted to do during the week. So you got to give at least two to three hours to the Lord. That's really all God asking for.

So he said, "Examine yourselves. Whether you be in the faith, go ahead and read. Prove your ownelves. Prove your own selves to the Lord." And we going to read about some people that prove themselves to God. They even asked the Lord to try them on the inside to see if they was living right or not. Yes, sir. And that's the way that you want to be. That's what makes the foundation of a strong Christian, sisters and brothers, when you are able to go before the Lord and prove to the Lord that you are living exactly the way that Christ lived when he was on the earth.

The exact same way. So he said, "Examine yourselves, whether you be in the faith, prove your own selves." Go ahead. Know ye not your own selves. Know ye not your own selves. Go ahead. How? That Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates. But I trust that ye shall know that we are not reprobates. We are not reprobates. Go ahead. Now I pray to God that ye do no evil, not that we should appear approved, but that ye should do that which is honest, though we be as reprobate.

Go ahead. For we can do all For we can do nothing against the truth. But we can do nothing against the truth. Go ahead and read. But for the truth. That's the only way. That's the only thing that we in here for, sisters and brothers. You can't do nothing against the truth. You can only do things for the truth, sisters and brothers. Verse nine. Go ahead. But we are glad when we are weak and ye are strong. And this also we wish even your perfection. Go ahead.

Therefore, I write these things being absent, lest being absent, I should use sharpness, according to the power which the Lord have given me to edification. Go ahead and not to destruction. So, pay attention to what Paul is telling you right here, sisters and brothers. He said, therefore, I write these things being absent, least being present, I should use sharpness according to the power which the Lord had given me to edification and not to destruction. You don't want to criticize people so much that they don't want to serve God no more.

So even though that you getting on them and telling them that you got to do right by God, you don't want to destroy them in the process. See, a lot of times you can use this word so much as a sword that you can cut people to where they don't even want to serve God no more. That's why you want to be gentle with the word of God when you give it to them. But it is a time for everything. So now let's go a little bit further now.

Let's go to St. Matthew the 23rd chapter. St. Matthew 23. St. Matthew 23. And we going to pick it up at verse one. Because see, we going to read about the scribes and the Pharisees and how they look righteous under men. They look holy, but within they was pure devils, sisters and brothers. And you don't want to be associated with that being a child of God or a daughter of the Lord. You don't want to be associated with that. So now St. Matthew 23 and we going to pick it up at verse one.

Because see these people they appeared outward but within they was raven and wolves and the Lord going to tell us that same Matthew 23 and let's pick it up at verse one 23 and one. Go ahead and read this sp Jesus to the multitude and to his disciples saying the scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses. That's he said the scribes and the Pharisees they sit in Moses seat. Now what did the Lord tell them to do? Go ahead. All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe.

Go ahead. That observe and do, but do not ye after their work. Go ahead. But they say and do not. You don't want to be associated with this, sisters and brothers. You don't want to say and do not. You don't want to tell people to love and you don't love. But he said that the scribes and the Pharisees, they sit in Moses seat. So whatever they bid you to do, do it now because they giving you the law of Moses. But they say and they do not.

So now let's skip down to verse 25. Verse 25. Go ahead, Elder. Woe unto you scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites. Notice what he called them now. He called them hypocrites. Go ahead. For you may clean the outside of the cup. He said, "You may clean the outside of the cup." Go ahead. And of the platter. Go ahead. But but then they are full of extortion and excess. But see, God already know that about you. But see, man don't know that about you, though. You can get away and hide from man, but you can't hide from the Lord.

So Jesus is putting the scribes and the Pharisees on on glass in front of everybody. Now he said, "You may clean the outside of the cup and the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess." What else are they? Go ahead and read 26. Go ahead. Now blind Pharisees, go ahead. Cleanse first that which is within the cup. He said, "Cleanse first that which is within the cup." Go ahead. And platter that the outside of them may be clean also. That's why you got to examine yourself if you in the faith or not, sisters and brothers.

Yes, sir. Cuz you can you can, like I said, you can look clean on the outside, but on the inside, you can be dirty. And that's why you want to examine yourself whether you walking in the faith or not, so you don't be put in the same category as the scribes and the Pharisees are. So now he said, "Thou blind Pharisees, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter. Then the outside of them may be clean also." Keep reading. Go ahead. 27 Woe unto you scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites, for ye are like unto whited separatists, which indeed appear beautiful outward.

Go ahead. But are within full of dead man's bones. Go ahead. And of and of all uncleanness. And you got a whole lot of Christians walking around like that today, right? You got a lot of people that shaking and faking in the word of God. But guess what? The Lord know all of that. So you can't get away from him, sisters and brothers. He said, "Yet he said the scribes and Pharisees, you are like unto white as supplicants, which indeed appear beautiful outward now, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness." Verse 28.

Go ahead. If it's so, you also outwardly appear righteous unto men. So you appear righteous unto men, you happy Sabbath, and slapping everybody on the back and on the hand and kissing everybody on the cheek. But you shaking and you faking. Now go ahead and read. But within you are full of hypocrisy and iniquity. You full of hypocrisy and sin, sisters and brothers. So that's what we going to tie all of this in together. Now I the Lord search the heart and I try the rains.

So now let's go to Psalms 26 now. Psalms 26. And we going to pick it up at verse one. Let's show you how David felt about it. So you already know you got to examine yourself. But what if you already on track? What if you know that you living right? That's what you want to say, sisters and brothers. This is the point and part where you want to be with the Lord. Let's go to Psalms 26 and we gonna pick it up at verse one. Psalms 26 and we going to pick it up at verse one.

When you get there, go ahead and read. Judge me, oh Lord. That's what I want. He said, "Judge me, oh Lord." Go ahead and read. For I have walked in my integrity. Can you say that with God that I have walked in my integrity? We ain't saying you ain't going to fall off the wagon. And we know that that's going to happen. But he said, "I have walked in my integrity." Have you kept a Sabbath? Have you ate any pork? Have you stole the day? Have you lied?

So that's why you got to examine yourself. He said, "For I have walked in my integrity." Go ahead and read. I have trusted also in the Lord. Go ahead. Therefore, I shall not slide. He ain't going to let you slide when you trust him, sisters, and brothers. He going to chastise you. We going to talk a little bit about that today. You don't get woke from the Lord. But he does that for a reason, sisters and brothers. He said, "I have trusted also in the Lord.

Therefore, I shall not slide." Go ahead and read verse two. Examine me, oh Lord. He said, "Examine me, oh Lord." Go ahead. And prove me. Try my reigns and my heart. You better make sure you right when you ask God to do this now because he'll do it. Whatever you ask the Lord, he going to do it for you now. So he said, "Examine me, oh Lord, and prove me. try my reigns and my heart. I want you to look into my mind and see am I thinking dirty.

I want you to look inside of me and see is there any uncleanness that lies within my body and if so I got to repent and get it out sisters and brothers. So now verse three go ahead. For thy loving kindness is before mine eyes and I have walked in thy truth. Go ahead. I have not sat with vain. See we going to talk a little bit about this later now. So remember this verse. He said, "I have not sat with vain persons." Go ahead and read.

Neither will I go in with the sinners. I have hated the congregation of evildoers. Go ahead. And will not sit with the witness. This going to make sense once we get to the end of this lesson, sisters and brothers. You can't be unequally yolked with unbelievers. We going to talk a little bit about that later. Now, so sometimes you got to separate yourself from them. What does it look like? You being a man or a woman of God and you going to church on the Sabbath day, but then you turn around and going to church to go double dip the next day.

You can't sit with them. You got to remove yourself from that. He said, "I have not sat with vain persons, neither will I go in with the semblance. I have hated the congregation of evildoers and will not sit with the wicked." So now verse six, go ahead. I will wash mine hands in innocence. So you ain't got to worry about doing what the scribes and the Pharisees washing your hands no 50 million times. If you want to wash your hands in something, wash it in innocence, sisters and brothers.

That means you got to be clean before the Lord. Yes, sir. Go ahead and read. So will I compass thine altar, oh Lord, that I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving and tell of all thy wondrous works. Lord, I have loved the habitation of thy house and the place where thine honor dwelleth. Gather not my soul with with sinners. Go ahead. Nor my life with bloody men. So you know what that mean, don't it? He said, "Gather not my soul with sinners, nor my life with the bloody men." Remember we just read about that caravan now where he said he going to gather up the tars and go throw them into the fire.

Yes, sir. So that's when he going to gather all of the bloody men and all of the sinners together and that's going to be at the judgment day, sisters and brothers. Yes. So now verse 10, go ahead and read. and whose hands is mischief and their right hand is full of bri and their right hands is full of bri. Read that verse 11. Go ahead. But as for me, go ahead. I will walk in mine integrity. He said, "But as for me, I will walk in mine integrity." Go ahead and read.

Redeem me and be merciful unto me. That's all you got to ask God. When you know you walking right, when you know that you doing this thing to the best of your ability, the only thing that you got to ask God for is mercy. Mercy. Forgive me for the things that I have done wrong to you. So now let's go a little bit further now. That's it. Oh, one more. Verse 12. Go ahead. My foot standeth in an even place and the congregations will I bless the Lord.

Will I bless the Lord? That's why until we get to the Lord's holy habitation, we got to do the best that we can where we are now. Amen. So now, now let's go to Psalms the 7th chapter. Psalm 7 and we going to pick it up at verse one. Psalm 7 and we going to pick it up at verse one. We just laying these anchors down. Then we going to get into it, sisters and brothers. And we going to show you some examples. When the Lord try you, some people pass and we going to show you where some people fail because they would not throw their lot in with the Lord.

You got to give your all to God. Sisters and brothers, that's just all that count. So now Psalm 7, Psalm 7 and let's pick it up at verse one. Psalm 7 and1. Go ahead and read. Oh Lord my God, indeed do I put my trust. Go ahead. Save me from all them that persecute me. Go ahead. And deliver me. He said he says, "Save me from the all them that persecute me and deliver me." Now verse two. Go ahead. Lest he tear my soul like a lion, rendering it in pieces while there is none to deliver.

See, that's how man think about you. Man don't care about your soul like that. Man trying to kill you. That's the reason why. So this is Jesus now that's speaking through the mouth of David. Now he said deliver me from those that persecute me least he tear my soul like a lion render it in pieces while there is none to deliver. So now verse three go ahead. Oh Lord my God. Go ahead. If I have done this so notice what he's saying. So he is examining himself now.

He said oh Lord my God. He said if I have done this go ahead and read. If there be iniquity in my hand go ahead. If I have rewarded evil unto him that was at peace with me. So now he said, if I have rewarded evil unto him that was at peace with me, have you done that? Have you had somebody that was nice to you, but then you turn around and been mean to them? That's what he talking about. So if you have done this, then you going to be in line for the judgment.

So now pick it up again at verse four. Go ahead. If I have rewarded evil one to him that was at peace with me, yay, I have delivered him that without cause is mine enemy. So now he said if I have done this, he said this should happen to me. Verse five, go ahead. Let the enemy persecute my soul. He said, let the enemy persecute my soul. Go ahead. And take it. Yay. Let him tear down my life upon the earth and lie and lay my honor in the dust.

Say, go ahead. Arise, oh Lord, in thine anger. He said, "Arise, oh Lord, in thine anger." Now go ahead. Listen up thyself because of the rage of mine enemies, and awake for me to the judgment that thou hast commanded. He said, "Awake for me the judgment that thou has commanded." That means that you asking the Lord to try you. You telling the Lord that you doing right. So once you stand before him in judgment, you know you going to pass the mission, sisters and brothers. So now verse seven, go ahead.

So shall the congregation of the people compass thee about for their sakes therefore be turned down thou on high. Go ahead. The Lord shall judge the people. Judge me, oh Lord, according to the according to my righteousness. He said, "Judge me, oh Lord, according to my righteousness." Go ahead. And according to my integrity that is in me. Oh, let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end. But establish the just. For the righteousness God tried the hearts and rain. So what did he say? He tried again.

He said, "For the righteous God tried the hearts and the rain." Sisters and brothers, I'mma see where you are. I'mma see where your mind is. I'mma see where you are. So now let's go to Jeremiah the 17th chapter. Now Jeremiah 17. And keep you a marker in Jeremiah 17 cuz we going to be here for a little minute. Let's go to Jeremiah 17 now. And we going to pick it up at verse one. We going to deal a little bit with Israel because he tried Israel, sisters and brothers, and Israel was lacking.

Israel was lacking. If you put it off in you put it off in the uh in the brotherhood text the other day about Hebrews the 4th chapter, he said they ain't going to even make it into my rest because of their behavior, sisters and brothers, because he tried them and he found them lacking. So now this was at the end of the line. This was right before Nebuchadnezzar had went in and took some of the children of Israel out. Jeremiah 17 and we gonna pick it up at verse one.

17 and one. Go ahead and read. The s of Judah is written with a pen of iron. Go ahead. And with the point of a diamond. He said they he said they s is written with a pen of iron, sisters and brothers. And with the point of a diamond. That means that you can't take it away. That means that it's a stone what they have done now. So I'm getting ready to judge this nation. Go ahead and read. It is graven upon the table of their heart.

But where is it engraved in that though? He said in the table of their heart, sisters and brothers, it was engraving right here. It was in their mind to go against God on everything that God told them to do. They chose not to do it. So that's why he said it was engraven with a diamond and with a iron pen and it was gravel upon the tables of their heart. Go ahead and read. and upon the horns of your altars. While their children remember their altars and their groves by the green trees upon the high hills, oh my mountain in the field, I will give thy substance and all thy treasures to the spoil.

I'm going to give everything you have. Now he said, "Oh my in the field, I will give thy substance and all thy treasures to the spoil." Go ahead and read. In thy high places for sin throughout all thy borders. and thou even thyself shall discontinue from thine heritage. He said basically I'mma get you out of here Israel now. He said thou even thyself shall discontinue from thine heritage. Go ahead and read. I gave thee. So I'm going to take this land away from you. Right? So I'm going to let you going to be a bow word and a bow and a and a and a bow word amongst all people of the earth.

Now he said, "Thou even thyself shall discontinue from thine heritage that I gave thee." Go ahead. And I will cause the yee to serve thy enemies in the land which thou knowest not. Go ahead. For ye have kindled a fire in mine anger, which shall burn forever. It's going to burn forever. Now, but what did he say in verse five? Go ahead and read. Thus says the Lord, cursed be the man that trustth in man. He said, "Cursed be the man that trusted in man." You got a lot of people, they trust in man.

They they wait on man to deliver them now. But you ain't waiting on God to deliver you. That's what got Israel in trouble. He said, "Thus said the Lord, cursed be the man that trusted in man." Go ahead and read. And make flesh his arm. Go ahead. And whose heart he parted from the Lord. He said, he said, "Cursed be that man once your mind depart from the Lord." Sisters and brothers. Verse six. Go ahead. For he shall be like the help the he desert and shall not see when good cometh, but shall inhabit the parches in the wilderness in a salt land and not inhabit.

That means you ain't going to be like no tree planted by the rivers of water no more. You going to be like a dry tree that ain't going to have no water at all. That's the reason why when Jesus stepped on the scene that he was that root that came out of a dry ground, that dry ground have represented Israel. Now, so now, but now if you are blessed, read that verse seven. Go ahead. Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord. Notice what he said.

Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord. Where we going to do that? That's what you got to trust in now. You got to trust in God. He said, "Blessed is the man that trusted in the Lord." Go ahead and read. And whose hope is in whose hope the Lord is. So once you hope in the Lord, now now you going to be like, what does he say? Verse eight. Go ahead. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when he cometh.

That means once it get a little hot outside, you going to still keep on blooming and you going to still keep bringing forth fruit no matter how dry it is out there because you got your trust in God. Go ahead and read. For her leaf shall be green and shall not be careful in the year of drought. Go ahead. Neither shall cease from yielding fruits. The heart is deceitful above all things. You better hear what God is telling you now. Don't listen to your mind all the time.

That's right. Your mind can get you in trouble with the Lord because that's what he said. He said the heart is deceitful above all things. Go ahead and read. And this and desperately wicked and it's also desperate. He said desperately wicked, sisters and brothers. That's what your mind is. Go ahead. Who can know it? He said who can know it? So we all know the old saying coming out of the old Sunday churches. The Lord know my heart. The Lord know my heart. He does. The problem is do you know your heart?

That's why he said you got to examine yourself because you might not be thinking right. Right. All the ways of a man is right in his own eyes. Sisters and brothers, every time you turn around, you right. You ain't wrong for nothing at all. But that's not the case. That's why the ear that he hearth the reproof of of life. They going to abide among the wise. So now verse n, he said, "The heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked. Who can know it?" So now verse 10, go ahead.

All right. The Lord search the heart. He said, "I the Lord search the Lord." Go ahead. I tried the rain. This where we get the title of the lesson from now. He said, "I the Lord search the heart. I try the reigns." Go ahead. Even to give every man according to his ways. He going to give you according to your ways. Yes, sir. If you wicked, you going to receive wicked. If you have sold wickedness, that's what you going to get back. But if you have sold righteousness, then God going to give you righteousness back.

But I'mma search you out. I'mma search you out. You say you love your wife, do you? You say you love your husband. Do you really love him? I'mma search you out for all of those things. Right? So now he said, "I the Lord search the heart. I try the reigns to give every man according to his ways." Go ahead and read. And according to the fruit of his doing and according I'm going search you out, Israel. Yes, sir. You can't hire from the Lord. Let's go to Jeremiah the 12th chapter.

Jeremiah 12. But see, Jeremiah knew he was walking right, but the nation wasn't walking right. The nation was sacrificing under every green tree and sacrificing items on every green hill. But see, Jeremiah wasn't doing that. While the whole nation was sinning, it was a few people that was trying to live righteous, sisters and brothers. And Jeremiah was one of them. Let's go to Jeremiah 12. Jeremiah 12. And we going to pick it up at verse one. Jeremiah 12. And we going to pick it up at verse one.

12 and one. Go ahead. Righteous art thou, oh Lord, he said, righteous art thou, oh Lord, go ahead. When I plead with thee, yet let me let me talk with thee of thy judgments. Wherefore do the way of the wicked prosper? Go ahead. Wherefore are all they happy that very treacherous? So I can understand why Jeremiah is saying this right now. You go down the street, you see all these big old mega churches around and they prospering. They got cars lined up all the way down the street.

But when you go in and listen to the doctrine and you listen to the preacher, everybody in there is lying, right? But yet and still they prospering away. He said, "Righteous are thou, oh Lord." So he knew that God was righteous now. But he wanted to plead with God. Why are you making these decisions? Why are the wicked prospering and all of these people that deal treacherously with you, but yet I'm trying to live right? And we got pre we got people in the word of God that's like that now.

You tried everything you can but yet and still you not prospering but everybody around you that's doing wicked. So let that let you know what that you in good company now. So what so what did God cause these people to do at verse two? Go ahead. Thou has planted them. See it's the Lord that planted them. Now we going to read that. He said thou has planted them. Go ahead and read. Yay. That they take root. That they have taken root. They grow. Yay. They bring forth fruit.

They bring forth fruit. Go ahead. Thou art near in their mouth. Go ahead. And far from their right. So notice what he said now. He said he said these people they speak about God. Now he said they that that thou are nearing their mouth now, but they are far from their reigns. They far from the inward parts. So they far from that. They Jesus you to death. I love Jesus. Jesus loves you. But at the same time, that's not in their heart. That's not in their mind.

And I get tired of running into people like that because see they give the real Christians like us a bad name. That's why don't nobody want to go to church no more. Don't nobody want to go to church because they know the preacher is lying. So therefore all of the churches are wrong. But that's not the case sisters and brothers. That's not the case. So now verse three, go ahead and read. But thou, oh Lord, go ahead. Know me. He said, but thou, oh Lord, knowest me.

It ain't it ain't nothing wrong with being bold with the Lord. He said, "But thou, oh Lord, knowest me." Go ahead and read. Thou hast seen me. He said, "Thou has seen me." Go ahead. And tried mine heart toward thee. And he has also tried mine heart toward thee. That's why you got to make sure that your mind is stayed on the Lord at all times, sisters and brothers. It got to be stayed on the Lord. He said, "But thou, oh Lord, knowest me. Thou has seen me and tried my heart toward thee." Go ahead and read.

Pulled them out like sheep for the SL. Have you noticed that everything that we have read has been talking about destroying wicked people? Every scripture we have went through, even when we was reading Paul is talking about the wicked being destroyed because you can't have peace on earth and good will toward men as long as the wicked is in power. Right? So they got to be destroyed, sisters and brothers. You can't how we going to live in peace and you got another man walking around still looking at your wife when you turn your back?

How is that peace? How is that peace? If you set If you set your watch on the car, you come back, somebody done stole. Whatever you set out there supposed to be there when you come back. That's the only way we going to live in peace is that the wicked got to be destroyed. Point blanket. Period. So now, keep reading. Go ahead. And prepare them for the day of slaughter. And prepare them for the day of slaughter. Go ahead. How long shall the land mourn? So now he said, because of wickedness, now he said, how long shall the land even mourn?

Go ahead and read. And the herbs of every field wither for the wickedness of them that dwell therein. And you can go read about that off in Amos the ninth chapter. He said, I caused it to rain on one city but didn't cause it to rain on another city. But why did that happen? Because of sin, sisters and brothers. Because of sin. Why do you think a baby is born with deformities in this world? Because of sin. We talked about that last week. So how long shall the land mourn and the herbs of every field wither?

for the wickedness of them that dwell therein. Go ahead and read. The beasts are consumed. They even got the beast being killed. He said the beast are consumed. Go ahead. And the birds because they said he shall not see our last end. Go ahead. If thou hast run with the footmen, and they have wearied thee, then how can thou contend with horses? And if in the land of peace wherein thou trustedest, they were wearied thee, then how will thou do in the swelling of Jordan? Go ahead.

For even thy brethren, and the house of thy father, even thy even they have dealt treacherously with thee. All of them have dealt treacherously with him, sisters and brothers, from the from the young children all the way to the old men. Now, everybody had dealt treacherous with God at this time. That's why Israel was getting ready to go into captivity to Babylon. Go ahead and read. They have called a multitude after thee. Believe them not. He said they have called a multitude after thee. He said, believe them not.

Go ahead and read. Though they speak fair words unto thee, for they speak fair. We love you, Lord. Lord, we love you so much. But see, Jeremiah said, don't believe nothing what they have said. Because he know that they weren't thinking about God. He knew that they was wicked. Now, so now what did God say? Verse seven, go ahead. I have forsaken mine house. Because of all this, he said, I have forsaken mine house. Go ahead. I have left mine inheritance. I have given the dearly beloved of my soul into the land of her enemy.

And to the hand of her enemy, sisters and brothers, notice what he called us though. He said that he called us his dearly beloved. That's how what he think about Israel. But he had to sell us into slavery because we wouldn't keep the word of God. Because once he tried us out, we was lacking. Sisters and brothers, we was lacking and you don't want to be lacking with the Lord. Let's go to Jeremiah 20 now. Jeremiah 20 and we going to pick it up at verse one.

Jeremiah 20 and we going to pick it up at verse one. They finally done got their hands on Jeremiah and now they f to put Jeremiah in the prison. He's another one that went to prison. Now they had him in the court way in the prison. That's how they did him and had him sinking down in the mud, sinking in the dirt. All because he was telling them what thus said the Lord and did nobody want to hear it. And ain't nothing changed to this day.

Don't nobody want to hear us now. They think we crazy. Well, however crazy we are, I'm going be like Paul. I'm going to be a repbate for the Lord, sisters and brothers. So now Jeremiah the 20th chapter. Jeremiah 20. We going to pick it up at verse one. Jeremiah 201. Go ahead and read. Now, pastor, the son of Emer the priest, who was also chief governor in the house of the Lord, heard that Jeremiah prophesied these things. So, he heard, so he was telling them now, "Y'all going to go into captivity, get your house, right, if you turn back to the Lord and just keep the Sabbath day, I'll keep you in the land." But see, Israel wouldn't listen now.

So, pastor had heard that Jeremiah had prophesied these things. So, what happened to Jeremiah? Go ahead and read. Then pastor smoked Jeremiah the prophet. Then pastor he smoked Jeremiah the prophet. That means that he hit him. Go ahead and read. And put him in the stalks that were in the high gate of Benjamin which was by the house of the Lord. Go ahead. And it came to pass on the mark that pastor brought forth Jeremiah out of the stalks. Then said Jeremiah unto him, the Lord have not called thy name past.

Notice what he said now after he smacked Jeremiah and brought him out of the prison. He said, "The Lord had not called thy name Pure." Go ahead and read. But Gor, he said, "But Meabid," you know what messabed means? That means terror on every side. Your name ain't going to be Passion no more. See, Passure was one of the names of the priest. But he called him Meisib, which means terror on every side because God, matter of fact, this this this pasture guy, he died before they went into captivity.

But keep reading. Go ahead. for but thus sayeth the Lord, behold, I will make thee a terror to thyself. I'm going to make thee a terror to thyself. Go ahead. And to all thy friends, and they shall fall by the sword of their enemies, and thine eyes shall behold it. And I will give all Judah into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall carry them captive into Babylon, and shall slay them with the sword. That's how far we fell off from the Lord, his dearly beloved, that his soul that love it.

He said he gonna carry us down to Babylon and he gonna kill him with the sword. Keep reading. Go ahead. Moreover, I will deliver all the strength of this city and all the labors thereof and all the precious things thereof and all the treasures of the kings of Judah will I give to the hand of their enemies which shall spoil them and take them. Go ahead. And carry them to Babylon. And going to carry them to Babylon. But see all of that stuff they took. Now, before a while, Jeremiah had hid the ark of the covenant for a minute.

He wouldn't let them get that because, see, Jeremiah was one of the priests now. So, all of the precious things that Solomon had gave to the children of Israel, which he got by the hand of his father David, all the gold and the silver and the brass, that was going to go to the king of Babylon, which was Nebuchadnezzar. So, now verse six, go ahead. and thou pasture, and all that dwell in thine house shall go into captivity, and thou shalt come to Babylon. Go ahead.

And there shall thou die. He's saying, there shalt thou die. Go ahead. And shalt be buried there. Thou and all thy friends to whom thou hast prophesied lies. Oh Lord, thou hast deceived me. So now, so with all this stuff, you and you gonna feel this way sometimes too. Now he said, "Oh Lord, thou has deceived me." Have you ever thought like that? Because you thought that when you got this word and you took it to everybody that you love that they was going to accept you, right?

But they didn't accept you, sisters and brothers. He said, he said, "Oh Lord, thou has deceived me." Go ahead. And I was deceived. Go ahead. Are stronger than I. He said, "Thou art stronger than I." Go ahead. And has prevailed. I am in the risen day. Go ahead. Everyone mocketh me. Everyone mockingth me. They talk about you because you live right. They talk about you because you keep the dietary law. They talk about you because you keep the Sabbath day. So now verse eight, go ahead and read.

For since I spake, he said, "For since I spake," go ahead. I cried out. I cried violence for But see, you don't supposed to be talking about this as a man or woman of God. You supposed to be telling people how they going to get blessed, how it's going to be good for you. But that's not what Jeremiah prophesied. And as you being a true man and woman of God, you going to get some violence and spoil that you going to cry out against as well.

He said, "For since I spake, I cried out. I cried violence and spoil." Go ahead. Because the word of the Lord was made a reproach unto me. Go ahead. And a derision David and a derision David. Did they make fun of you because you do right. Right. But see, God had already told you that that when you turn to righteousness, what you going to do? You going to make yourself a prey. Everybody gonna come at you when you live, right? Like I was talking to a brother at work and he said, "Well, man, I told him about the Sabbath day." So he said, "Well, I'mma go back because my my auntie and my uncle, they really big devout Christians and I'mma ask them about the Sabbath day." I said, "Hold up, man.

Why don't you find out about it first? Why don't you No, I'mma just go ask them anyway." I said, "All right, man. You going to look around and you ain't going to have no one no more. You take it to him right now." So right now you need to find out what thus say the Lord before you take it to somebody else. Right? It's like you standing in a fight and you don't know what your opponent is jabbing you with. You got to know what you doing.

You got to know about the Sabbath day before you tell anybody else about it. If not, it's going to be made a reproach unto you and a derision daily. But now verse nine, go ahead and read. Then I said, go ahead. I would not make mention of him. I ain't going to even talk about the Lord. I'mma just keep it to myself. I'mma save myself. That's how we get to thinking. But see, that's how the weak heart think. You don't want to think like that. He said, "Then I said, I will not make mention of him." Go ahead and read.

Nor speak anymore in his name. Nor speak anymore in his name. Go ahead. But his word was in my heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones. But see, but but he already said, Lord, you have tried me and known me now. So what was in his heart? The word of God. And it was like a burning fire shut up in its bones. Sisters and brothers, you can't stop talking about it. You can think that you can stop talking about it, but you not.

People start talking about God around you. Ain't going to say nothing. Ain't going to say nothing. Before you know it, you all in the conversation talking about God because it's shut up in you. It's in you. You can't get it out. And once it's in your heart like a burning fire, you going to give it to everybody else. Go ahead and read. And I was worried for bearing. Go ahead. And I could not stay. He said, he said, I was weary with forbearing and I could not stay.

So now, is that it? Okay, let's skip down to verse 11. Verse 11. Go ahead. But the Lord is with me as a mighty, terrible one. Therefore, my persecutors shall stumble. So what did he say about his persecutors? He said, "My persecutors shall stumble." Go ahead and read. And they shall not prevail. They shall be greatly ashamed for they shall not prosper. Their everlasting confusion shall never be forgotten. But oh Lord of hosts that tries the righteous. But what did he say now? He said, "But oh Lord of hosts that do what?

That tried the righteous." Now go ahead and read. And see the reigns and the hard. We told you he see the reigns and the hard sisters and brothers. He see everything that's going on with you now. He said, "But oh Lord of hosts that try out the righteous and seeth the reigns and the hard." Go ahead and read. Let me see thy vengeance on them. Let me see thy vengeance on them. Go ahead. For unto thee have I opened my call. For unto thee have I opened my call, sisters and brothers.

Let's go a little bit further now. Let's go to Deuteronomy the 8th chapter. Let's see what we were with God at first. See, the Lord didn't feel that way about us at first. Even though we was tempted in the wilderness. Now, he still loved us at that time. But Israel just got too dirty to where he had to cast us out of his sight. And once we show you in this passage, you gonna see why. Let's go to Deuteronomy the 8th chapter and we gonna pick it up at verse one.

Deuteronomy 8 and we gonna pick it up at verse one. See, God going to try you. He going to try you now. And he going to look inside of you to see what's truly dwelling there. Or are you shaken and faking with the Lord? Let's go to Deuteronomy the 8th chapter. Deuteronomy 8. And we going to pick it up at verse one. and we going to learn something on our way of learning something while we off in this Deuteronomy and let's go to Deuteronomy 8 and we going to pick it up at verse one.

Deuteronomy 81. Go ahead and read. All the commandments which I command thee this day shall ye observe to do that ye may live and multiply and go in and possess the land which the Lord swore unto your father. So he said you it ain't no option in this sisters and brothers. He didn't give them an option to do it or not. He said, "If you want something from me, then I require something out of you." Right? I require you to live right. I I I require you to observe to do my commandments.

When you observe something, that means that you watching out for it. So all the commandments which I command thee this day shall ye observe to do, that you may live and multiply, and go in and possess the land which the Lord swore unto your fathers. Verse two, go ahead. And thou shalt remember all the way which the Lord thy God led thee these 40 years in the wilderness to humble thee and to prove thee and to know that was in thy heart. Go ahead. Whether thou wouldest keep his commandments or no.

So you see what he said now. So I led you these 40 years in the wilderness. Now so we was three days journey from getting into the land. But the Lord made us walk for 40 years before he gave us a land because he had to humble us. He had to prove whether we would keep the commandments or not. And guess what? God gonna do that also with you. Now, he gonna see what's in your heart, whether you will keep his commandments or no. So, now verse three, you might have it a little bit hard.

Verse three, go ahead. And he humbled thee. Go ahead. And suffer thee to hunger. So, they didn't have the regular food that they had when they was in Egypt. Now, he said, "He humbled thee and suffer thee to hunger." Go ahead and read. And fed thee with mana. But he fed them with mana. Sisters and brothers and that mana was angel's food. Yes sir. And also the mana had represented the flesh of Jesus which you can read that off in St. John the 6th chapter. So now keep reading.

Go ahead. Which thou kneest not neither did thy fathers know that he might make thee know that man doeth not live by bread alone. You don't live by bread only. Sisters and brothers. Go ahead and read. But by every word that proceedth out of the mouth of the Lord do it man live. He going to see. Are you living by that? Yes, sir. Or are you just like like we talked about last week when all of the people was just following Jesus to get something to eat.

And guess what? Jesus knew all of that. He knew that about him, sisters and brothers. But now he said, he said, "Man does not live by bread only, but by every word that proceed out of the mouth of the Lord doth man live." So now, but while you was going through all of this, he still took care of you. Verse four, go ahead. Thy raignment wax not old upon thee, neither did thy foot swell these 40 years, thou shalt also consider in thine heart, that as a man chastiseth his son, so the Lord thy God chastenth thee.

And I just want to throw this in. When you being chastised by God, sisters and brothers, you got to rejoice in that. Yes, sir. We get down too much. When the other night when I was walking, the Lord chastised me when I fell. I knew who did it. I said, "You got me, Lord. You got me. You got me. Show me where you contending with me at." So when you being chastised by God and things going wrong in your life, don't always look at it as a bad thing.

Rejoice in it because he looking at you as a son. Now he said, he said, "Thou shalt also consider in thine heart that as a man chasenth his son, so the Lord thy God chasen me. Don't you chastise your children when they do wrong? You will whoop them, right? So when you do wrong, guess what? God gonna whoop you too. Yes. And then I look at my leg. I looked at how blue and how swoll it was. And then I was sleep one night. And then he said the blessness of a womb cleanseth away all evil out of a man.

So you can look down and understand he cleansing you of evil when things go wrong in your life. So you got to remember that. Don't look at it as a bad thing. So now keep reading verse verse six. Go ahead. Therefore thou shalt keep the commandments of the Lord thy God. Go ahead. To walk in his ways. Go ahead. And to fear him. That's what he command you, sisters and brothers. He said, "Therefore, thou shalt keep the commandments of the Lord thy God to walk in his ways and to fear him." You got to fear the Lord God.

Now, sir, so now let's skip down to verse 11. Verse 11, go ahead and read. Beware that thou forget not the Lord thy God, and not keeping his commandments, and his judgments, and his statutes, which I command thee this day. So don't forget about it now because Israel got a real forgetful problem. They have a problem once God start to bless them and they forgot who bless them. They forgot where they blessings come from. So God is reminding them now. Beware that thou forget not the Lord thy God and not keeping his commandments and his statutes and his statutes which I command thee this day.

Verse 12. Go ahead. Lest when thou hast eaten and art or full, thou hast built goodly houses and dwelt therein. And when thy herds and thy flocks multiply, and thy silver and thy gold is multiplied, and all that thou hast is multiplied, go ahead. Then thine heart be lifted up. See, once you start living good and you start living ghetto fabulous, then you forget the Lord your God. You forget the Lord that gave you everything. Now your flocks you up to have multiplied, your silver and your gold.

So now your heart lifted up. And that's what got Israel in trouble. He said, "Then thine heart be lifted up." Go ahead and read. And thou forget the Lord thy God. And once you start getting blessed, that's when you turn around and forget God. That's why you got to examine yourself whether you be in the faith. You cannot rise up and start getting blessed by the Lord and then forget who gave it to you. Yes, sir. Forget who woke you this morning. who really paid your rent, who kept your lights on, who kept your children safe, who kept you away from cancer, kept you out of accidents when you should have been dead.

That's God that did that to you. But then when things start going right for you, forget about all of that. So now, keep reading. Go ahead. Which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt from the house of bondage, who led thee through the through that that great and terrible wound. So pay attention to what we read there in verse 15. Now he said, "Who led thee through that great and terrible wilderness." Now go ahead and read. Wherein were fiery surface. Wherein were fiery serpents.

Go ahead. And scorpions and drought. Go ahead. Where there was no water. Who brought thee forth water out of the rock of flesh. Because he telling you now, so these fiery serpents, I didn't let them bite you now, but I will let them bite you. And let let's show you that. Let's let's let's take a pause for the cause. Go to Deuteronomy 32 real quick. Deuteronomy 32. And we this our only add in in the lesson. Go to Deuteronomy 32 and we gonna read verses 23 and 24.

Deuteronomy 32 and we going to read verses 23 and 24. We going to read this for a reason now because this is the one thing that I never explained in all of the times that I read this in the lesson. Let's go to Deuteronomy 32 and read verses 23 and 24. 23 and 24. Go ahead and read. I will mischief upon Notice what he say. He said, "I will heap mischiefs upon them." Now, go ahead and read. I will spend my arrows upon them. So, we already talked about that God arrows is troubled.

Now, he said, "I will spend mine arrows upon them." Verse 24, go ahead. They shall be burnt with hunger. So, then I'm going to put you in famine. So, when they would not keep the commandments of the Lord thy God, he put them in famine. He said, "They shall be burnt with hunger." Go ahead and read. And devoured with burning heat. Go ahead. and with bitter destruction I will also send the teeth of beast upon them. Go ahead and the poison of serpents of the dust.

And said that so now these serpents as her I'mma let them bite you now but I'mma use these serpents for a reason. He said I will also send the teeth of beasts upon them and the poison of serpents of the dust. So now let's go to numbers the 21st chapter now. Numbers 21. Numbers 21. And we going to pick it up at verse one. Numbers 21 and we going to pick it up at verse one. We going to read about the serpent on the pole, sisters and brothers.

And this time we going to make some sense about it. Let's go to Numbers 21 and we going to pick it up at verse one. Numbers 21 and1 because by this time Israel didn't have no faith at all, sisters and brothers. And we going to show you where the Lord was going to teach them to have some faith. Numbers 21 and let's pick it up at verse one. 21 and one. Go ahead, Elder. And when King Ard of Canaanite, the Canaanite, which dwelt in the south, heard tell that Israel came by the way of the spies, then he fought against Israel and took some of them prisoners because Israel was falling off.

What do you mean took some of the Israelites captive, took them as prisons because they were seeing it? So he is starting to already chastise the nation by putting them into slavery. Now, so once this happened, what did Israel say? Verse two, go ahead. And Israel bowed a vow unto the Lord. He said, and Israel bowed a vow unto the Lord, go ahead. And said, if thou will indeed deliver this people into my hand, then I will utterly destroy their city. Go ahead. The Lord hearkened to the voice of Israel.

So anytime Israel got in trouble, they cried out to the Lord now, and the Lord helped them. But see, he couldn't find that same faithfulness out of them. As soon as God delivered them out from the hands of their enemies, they turned right back to sin. And again, so now keep reading. Go ahead. And delivered upon the Canaanites. And they utterly destroyed them and their cities and called the name of the place Hormach. And they journeyed from Mount Hore by the way of the Red Sea to compass the land of Edom.

And the soul of the people was much discouraged because of the way. Wait a minute. Now you just asked God to deliver your enemies. And what happened to Israel? They lost faith because of some food. Sisters and brothers. He said, "And they journey from about from Mount by the way of the Red Sea to compass the land of Edom." Now, and the soul of the people was much discouraged because of the way. Go ahead and read. Fine. And the people spake against God and against Moses.

So the people spake against God and against Moses. Go ahead. Wherefore have ye brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? For there is no bread, neither is there any water, and our soul loves this light bread. They they hated that bread. They hated that matter. They didn't want none of it. They even though they made cakes out of it, they made honey out of it. But see, they didn't understand what they was giving, sisters and brothers, he was giving them angels food.

So they started to complain. They spoke against God and they also spoke against Moses. So now verse six, go ahead. And the Lord sent fiery serpents among the people. Go ahead. And they hit the people. Go ahead. And must people of Israel die. So now them serpents that's out there. Now I'm going to start sending them in to bite y'all now. But he was using these serpents to chastise them because they did not have no faith. Now so now verse seven, go ahead. Therefore the people came to Moses and said we have sinned.

They said, "Therefore the people came to Moses and said, we have sinned." Go ahead. But we have spoken against the Lord. Go ahead. And against thee. So he tried them now. He tried their reigns in their heart. He said, "We have spoken against the Lord and against thee." Go ahead and read. Pray unto the Lord that he take away the serpent from us. Go ahead. And Moses prayed for the people. Moses prayed unto the people. So what did Moses do? Go ahead. And the Lord said unto Moses, "Go ahead.

Make thee a fiery serpent." So now he said, "And the Lord said unto Moses, make thee a fiery serpent." Go ahead and read. And set it upon the pole. So he made he So he took this serpent and he set it on a pole. Now go ahead and read. And it shall come to pass that everyone that is bitten. Go ahead. When he look upon it shall live. When he look upon it, he shall live. So the serpent had represented Israel's sin. So every time Israel sinned, they looked at that serpent to remind them of what they were sinning for.

Because when you go back to Genesis the third chapter, who was the serpent? The serpent was the devil. So he compared him what? To a serpent. So the serpent had represented the sin. But when they looked on the pole at the fiery serpent, everyone that looked upon it, they lived, sisters and brothers. So what did Moses do? Go ahead and read. NA and Moses made a serpent of brass. Go ahead. And put it upon a pole. So he made a serpent of brass and put it upon a pole.

Go ahead. And it came to pass. And if a serpent had been any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, go ahead. He lived. When he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived. So every time they looked at that serpent on the pole, they had realized they sinned that they had did, sisters and brothers. But now, let's go a little bit further. Now, let's go to Second Kings the 18th chapter. 2 Kings 18, and we going to pick it up at verse one. 2 Kings 18 and we going to pick it up at verse one.

We going to show you what they did with that serpent on the pole. Let's go to 2 Kings the 18th chapter. Now we going to bring Hezekiah in and let's show you what Israel did. Israel just couldn't get right because there was a nation in whom was no faith, sisters and brothers. So he sent them fiery serpents in there that was just biting at Israel. And Israel was dying from those poisonous fights. So now 2 Kings 18 and we going to pick it up at verse one.

2 Kings 18 verse one. Go ahead and read. Now it came to pass in the third year of Hosa, son of Eli, king of Israel, that Hezekiah, the son of Ahaz, king of Judah, began to reign. Go ahead. 25 years old was he when he had began to reign. And he reigned 209 years in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Aba, the daughter of Zachchariah. Go ahead. and he did that which was right in the sight of the Lord according to all that David his father did.

So now he so now Hezekiah he did he was one of the kings now that was righteous in the eyes of the Lord and he did according to all that David his father did. So what did he do verse four go ahead he removed the high places. Go ahead and break the images and cut down the gro. So all of the high places that Israel was sacrificing the pagan gods, he removed all of that now and he break down the images and cut down the groves.

What else did he do? Go ahead. And break in pieces the brazen serpent that Moses had made. So that same pole that Moses had made that brazen serpent that when they looked on the pole they was healed. Israel started to worship that thing. Sisters and brothers go ahead and read. For unto those days the children of Israel did burn incense to it. They started burning incense to that pole. Now, but Hezekiah got rid of it. Go ahead. And he called it. He trusted in the Lord God of Israel.

Now, we've been reading that all lesson now. He said he trusted in the Lord God of Israel. Go ahead. So that after him was none like him among all the kings of Judah, nor any that were before him. Go ahead. For he claved to the Lord and departed not from following him. See that's how that's how you know you living right with the Lord sisters and brothers. He said for he claved to the Lord and departed not from following him. You cannot depart from the Lord because if you depart from the Lord he going to depart from you.

But now what else did he do? Go ahead. But kept his commandments which the Lord commanded Moses. Go ahead. And the Lord was with him and he and he prospered whethersoever he went forth. See that's the beauty of staying close to God. Yes sir. That everything you do you are going to prosper sisters and brothers if you stay close to him. So now he said and the Lord was with him and he prospered whethersoever he went forth. Go ahead and read. And he rebelled against the king of Assyria.

He rebelled against the king of Assyria. Go ahead and read. And served him not. And served him not. Why? because he served the Lord God of Israel, sisters and brothers. And that was the only God that he was going to serve. That's right. Let's go now to 1st Chronicles the 28th chapter. 1 Chronicles 28. Let's go deal with David and Solomon. Now, he said, "Like the title of the lesson, I the Lord searched the Lord and I try the rain." Sisters and brothers, let's go to 1 Chronicles the 28th chapter and we going to pick it up at verse one.

So all of these things that we talked about that was given to the hands of strangers in the days of Jeremiah, it was David that got the gold and the brass and the silver, all of that stuff for Solomon so he could go make the house of the Lord. So now 1 Chronicles 28 and we going to pick it up at verse one. 1st Chronicles 28 and we going to pick it up at verse one. When you get there, Elder, go ahead and read. And David assemble with all the princes of Israel and princes of the tribes and the captains of the companies that minister to the king by court and captains over the thousands and captains over the hundreds and the stewards over all the substance and possessions of the king and of his sons with the officers and with the mighty men and with all the valiant men of Jerusalem.

Then David the king stood up upon his feet and said, "Hear me, my brethren and my people. As for me, I had mine heart to build a house of rest for the ark of the covenant of the Lord and for the foottool of our God and had made ready for the build." He did all of that stuff. Now, he said he went out. He got he said, "I've said in my heart now to build an house of rest for the ark of the covenant of the Lord and for the foottool of our God and made ready for the building now." But it was a reason he couldn't do it.

Verse three, go ahead. But God said unto me, Go ahead. Thou shalt not build an house for my for my name. Go ahead. Because thou hast been a man of war. Go ahead. And has shed blood. And we covered that in the lesson, sisters and brothers, why David could not build the house of the Lord now because he did a very brutal killing when he was out in war when he got the scores of the people. So because he killed in that manner, he would not let David build the house of the Lord cuz he had blood on his hands.

So now verse four, go ahead and read. How be it the Lord God of Israel chose me before all the house of my father to be king over Israel forever. Go ahead. For he has chosen Judah to be the ruler. He had chosen Judah to be the ruler. Now go ahead. And of the house of Judah, the house of my father. And among the sons of my father, he liked me to make me king over all Israel. And of all my sons, for the Lord hath given me many sons.

He hath chosen Solomon, my son, to sit upon the throne of the kingdom of the Lord over Israel. And he said unto me, Solomon thy son. He shall build my house and my courts, for I have chosen him to be my son, and I will be his father. Go ahead and read verse seven. Moreover, I will establish his kingdom forever, if he be constant to do my commandments and my judgments as at this day. So he talking about Solomon now. So he said, "Moreover, I will establish his kingdom forever if he be constant to do my commandments and my judgments as at this day." So we all know that Solomon kind of fell off a little bit now.

But once Solomon had sinned, he had to split the nation of Israel. Now, but now verse eight, go ahead and read. Now therefore, in the sight of all Israel, the congregation of the Lord, and in the audience of our God, keep and seek for all the commandments of the Lord your God. Notice what he said now. He said, "Now, therefore, in the sight of all Israel, the congregation of the Lord, and in the audience of our God, keep and seek for all the commandments of the Lord your God." Now, so he telling them to do the commandments.

Go ahead and read. That ye may possess this good land. The same thing that Moses said, that you may possess this good land. Go ahead. And leave it before an inheritance for your children after you forever. And thou, Solomon, my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind. So you see how you got to serve the Lord? Yes, sir. You You got to serve him the same way that Solomon did. Now, serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind.

Why? Go ahead and read. For the Lord searchth all hearts. He said, "For the Lord searchth all the hearts." Now, we gonna get down to our minds. He said, "For the Lord searchth all the hearts." Go ahead and read. and understandeth all the imaginations of the thought. He understand your mind, sisters and brothers. Yes, sir. That's why we telling you you can't even get away from the Lord. Even when you silent, he be in there saying, "I see you. I see you." He see everything that you doing.

Now, he said, "If you serve him with a perfect with a willing heart, for the Lord searchth the hearts and understandeth all the imagination of the thoughts." Go ahead and read. If thou seek him, he said, "If thou seek him," go ahead. He will be found You hear what he said? If you seek the Lord, he will be found of peace. If you seeking God, he going to be right there for you. He ain't going to leave nothing undone that you cannot find him. But the thing about it is is ain't nobody seeking after him.

Ain't nobody seeking him with the right heart. Go ahead and read. But if thou forsake him, he said, but if thou forsake him, go ahead and read. He will cast thee off forever. He will cast thee off forever. You just forsake him one time. See, that's why he don't want to play with the Lord, sisters and brothers. He said, "But if thou will forsake him, he will cast thee off forever." And you don't want to be no cast away from the Lord. Cuz once you cast away from God, you going to be cast away into the lake of fire, sisters and brothers.

Yes. So now, let's go to Isaiah 55. Isaiah 55 now, and we gonna pick it up at verse six. Isaiah 55, and we gonna pick it up at verse six. I didn't put it in this lesson, but you got to understand, you got to cast down imaginations and everything that exalt itself against the commandments of God. When it come in your mind, you got to get it out. If it's unclean, you got to get it out. Isaiah 55 and we going to pick it up at verse six.

Isaiah 65 and we gonna pick I mean 55 rather, I'm sorry, and we going to pick it up at verse six. Isaiah 55 and six. Go ahead and read. Seek ye the Lord while he may be found. He said, "Seek the Lord while he may be found." Sisters and brothers, and that time is now. You got to seek the Lord while he can't be found. Because it's going to come a time that you going to try to seek the Lord and you ain't going to be able to find them.

There's going to be the time of tribulation, sisters and brothers. The only people that's going to be saved during the time of tribulation are those that did not accept them all. So, you got to seek him right now. So, start that over from the top. Go ahead. Seek ye the Lord while he may be found. Go ahead. Call ye upon him while he is near. He is near. Sisters and brothers, you ain't got to go all the way up to heaven to get up. And you ain't got to go all the way down in the middle of the earth or in the sea to find him neither because he is near.

Yes, sir. The same way that Satan is all over the place. God is all over the place, too. You just got to seek him. He says, "Seek the Lord while he may be found. Call ye upon him while he is near." Go ahead and read. Let the wicked forsake his way. Let the wicked forsake his way. Go ahead and read. And your righteous man, his thoughts. You got to get your thoughts right. You got to get your mind right. That's the first place where Satan is trying to get you.

That is in your mind, in your heart. That's why God going to search your heart. That's why he said, "I try to reign in the heart." He said, "Let the wicked forsake his way and the unrighteous man his thoughts." Go ahead and read. And let him return unto the Lord. And let him return unto the Lord. Go ahead. And he will have mercy upon him. Go ahead. And to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. Even when you leave him even when you forsake him, if you turn back around and repent to him, he going to come back to you.

Yes, sir. After you have done it wrong. I use the example all the time of when Jesus died on the cross. A lot of the people that made fun of him when he died, when he died on the cross, some of them people repented and they turned back and they saw God. And what did he do? He forgave them, sisters and brothers. See, that's the God we serve. And that's why we are so happy that God is not man the way we are, right? Because we can't forgive the way that God forgive.

We can't do it, sisters and brothers. He said, "Let the wicked forsake his way and the unrighteous man his thoughts, and let him return unto the Lord, for he will have mercy upon him and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon." And this is why. Go ahead. H. For my thoughts are not your thoughts. For my thoughts are not your thoughts. See, God ain't worried about the woman in the skin tight pants. That's the least of his worries. But you got some men around. That's their only thought.

That's the only thing they think about. You got people, you got people, you got people that they have a job, they don't even appreciate the job they have cuz they constantly looking for more. Instead of searching for God, you searching for money. But you're not searching for God. You got to search for the Lord. Now, he said, "For my thoughts are not your thoughts." Go ahead and read. Neither are your ways my ways, sayeth the Lord. Go ahead. For as the heavens are higher than the earth.

Go ahead. So are my ways higher than your ways. Go ahead. And my thoughts than your thoughts. So you can't even you can't test them at all or ask him anything. Now he said, "For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts." Verse 10, go ahead. For as the rain cometh down, go ahead. And the snow from heaven, it returneth not litter, but waterth the earth and maketh it bring forth and bud that it may give seed to the sword.

Go ahead. And bread to the eer. That's why we need to think about it. Oh, it's raining outside. Why is it raining? I never complain when it rain no more. Because we got to understand this all come from the Lord. Now the Lord is preparing us food for the future. Because without no rain and snow, you ain't going to have no food, sisters and brothers. So now verse 11, go ahead. So shall my word be that going go forth out of my mouth. He says, "So shall my word be that which goeth forth out of my mouth." Go ahead and read.

It shall not return unto me void. It shall not return unto me void. Go ahead. But it shall accomplish that which I please. Go ahead. And it shall prosper in the thing where where to send it. forever. Whatever God say, that's what God say and it's going to be what it's going to be and there's nothing that we can add or take away from it. Sisters and brothers, the only thing that we can do is fall in line and that's it. So that's it. Let's go a little Let's go a little further now.

Let's go to St. Mark the 7th chapter. We dealing with a little bit of the mind because see, like I say all the time, you know, uh with with with with Jadiah, he said to have power with God is to have power over the mind. Once you master your mind and make up in your mind the way that David and Solomon, all those guys is, that's what's gonna get you right in the thick of things with the Lord. You got to change your thoughts cuz Satan gonna let them pop in, but you got to pop them right out.

The the enemy's job is to steal, kill, and to destroy. I'm I'm gonna steal your salvation. I'm gonna kill you spiritually, and I'mma destroy you in the lake of fire. That's his job, sisters and brothers. Don't let him win. Don't let him win. Let's go to St. Mark 5. St. Mark 7 and pick it up at verse 5. St. Mark 7 and we going to pick it up at verse 5. St. Mark 7 and 5. Go ahead and read. Let's get back to the scribes and Pharisees.

The one that the Lord tried and he found them lacking. St. Mark 5 and 7. Go ahead. Then the Pharisees and scribes asked him, "Why walt not thy disciples according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashed hand?" Go ahead. He answered and said unto them, "Well, hath Elias prophesi prophesied of your hyp of of you hypocrite." Notice he said he still getting at sisters and brothers. He never let them off the hook, right? He answered and said unto them, he said, well had Isaiah prophesied of you hypocrites.

Go ahead and read. As it is written, this people honor me with their lips. This people honor me with their lips. Go ahead and read. But their heart is far from me. And we know some people like that. We we know people like that in our families. We know friends like that. We know people that they call on the name of the Lord, but he ain't in their heart. And that's what we talking about in the lesson. Now he searched the heart in the reigns. I'm going to search and see what you about.

He said, "This people honorth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me." Verse seven, go ahead. How be it in vain do they worship me? He said, "How be in vain do they worship me?" If you doing Christmas, you worshiping him in vain. If you doing December 25th, you're doing Easter and all of these other holidays that man want to call holy, you are worshiping him in vain, sisters and brothers. And that's just what it is. Go ahead and read. Teachings are doctrines the commandments of men.

And that's what they do now. They teach for doctrine about Jesus now the commandments of men. So now verse eight, go ahead. Well, laying aside the commandment of God, yehold the tradition of men. So you lay aside the commandments of God. So you hold the tradition of men. Go ahead and read. As a washing of pots and cups, go ahead. And many other such things ye do. And he said unto them, full well ye reject the commandment of God. He said, full well you reject the commandments of God.

Go ahead. That ye may keep your own tradition. That you may keep your own traditions. And that's what they was doing. They were washed apart a thousand times before they ate out of it. When one time is enough. So they did all of these commandments of men. But when it came to God, they took the commandments and put the commandments on the back burner. So now verse 10, go ahead. For Moses said, so now for Moses said, that's why he said, "Whatever, whatever the scribes and Pharisees they sent in Moses seat." Now, so whatever they teach you, observe and do.

So now he is going to give you some of the ten commandments. Go ahead and read. For Moses said, "Honor thy father and thy mother, go ahead. And who so curse thy father or mother, go ahead. Let him die to death. Let him die to death." Why you think so many children out here dying today? How many children you see dead? I bet you a whole lot of them don't honor their mother and their fathers or they might honor the mother and they oh my father wasn't in my life so I ain't thinking about my dad no more.

You in trouble when you do that. God gave you one commandment and that commandment was with promise and that's to honor your mother and your father whether they in the word of God or not. You let God's son sort that out. Because if you curse your father or your mother, he said, "Let him die to death." So now verse 11, go ahead. But ye say, go ahead. For a man shall say to his father or mother, it is corine that is to say, a gift by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me, go ahead.

He shall be free. He shall be free. Go ahead. and ye suffer him no more to to do art for his father or his mother. So they stop taking care of their father and their mother. They take their father and their mother, they put them in the old folks home and they might see them once every two or three months. So you get people that they start going against their mother and their father only because they not in the word of God. You can't do that, sisters and brothers.

You still got to honor your mother and your father no matter what. So now what did he say at verse 13? Go ahead. making the word of God of non effect. Making the word of God of non effect. Go ahead. Through your tradition, which ye have delivered, and many such things must like things do ye. Okay, let's skip down to verse 17. Skip down to verse 17 and go ahead. And when he was entered into the house from the people, his disciples asked him concerning the parable.

And he said unto them, "Are ye so without understanding also? Do ye not proceed that whatsoever thing from without enterth into the man, it it cannot defile him? Go ahead. Because it enterth not into his heart. Because it enterth not into his heart. We not we not going to deal with the poor thing today because people try to take this verse right here so they can go eat some swine. But God ain't talking about that. He's talking about we talking about defiling the temple right now.

And we going to look at it from a biblical perspective. He said unto them, "Are ye so without understanding also? Do ye not perceive that whatsoever thing from without entering into the man, it cannot defile him?" Now, he said, "Because it enterth not into his heart." So, he going to show you where where you get defiled at in your body. Now, so now, keep reading. Go ahead. But into the belly. Go ahead. And go out into the drop. Go ahead. Purging all me. And we all know what that's talking about.

You know, that's when you go get that porcelain thrown. So whatever you eat is going to come out of you and it's going to be purged in all meats. Now, but now let's read this verse 20. Go ahead. And he said that which cometh out of the man, go ahead. That defiles you. That what come out of a man, that's what defiles you. Yes, sir. What comes out of man? So now what did he say? What come out of man? Go ahead. For from within, out of the heart of men.

He said from within, out of the heart of men. Now go ahead. Force evil thoughts. That's what we talking about right now. He said proceed evil thoughts that come out of your mind. Yes, sir. So when you have evil thoughts, that's what defile a man. You have thoughts about beating somebody up, that's what you just got defiled. You have thoughts about evil thoughts about taking vengeance on somebody. That's where you just got defiled. Your evil thoughts, sexual thoughts that you don't supposed to have. He said from with He said from for for from within of the heart of man perceive evil thoughts.

Go ahead and read. Adultery. Adulteries. What is it? Before the the thought of adultery is committed. Where does it start at? In your mind. You meet each other over the phone. You talk for a little while and before you know it, y'all meeting up and you off in the hotel making whoopies somewhere. And now you done got in trouble with the Lord. So he said adulteries. Go ahead and read. Go ahead. Murders. I mean, ought to ought to murk you. You ever heard somebody say that?

Well, you just got in trouble with the Lord when you said that. That's why you also you got to watch your thoughts and you also got to watch your mouth. So now, what else come from the heart of man? Verse 22. Go ahead. Death, covetousness, wickedness. Go ahead. Deceit. Deceit. Before you lie to somebody, you plan it out first. That's what deceit is. Now, deceit is telling a lie. But before you told the lie, you thought about the lie before you told it. Right? Go ahead and read what else?

Lasciviousness. Lasciviousness. That's unbridled lust. Go ahead and read. An evil eye. You ever gave somebody the evil eye? You ever looked at somebody, you looking at them all mean like you going to do something to him. God don't even want you to do that. That's what the evil eye is. Go ahead and read. Blasphemy, pride, foolishness. Go ahead. All these evil things come from within. See, all these evil things come from within. Go ahead and read. And defile the man. That's what defile you. But guess what?

God watching all of these things. He watching to see does this dwell in your heart. So if this was dwell in your heart, then this what's going to get you in trouble with God. That's why he said, "I the Lord search the heart and I try to rain." Sisters and brothers, I'm going to see where you are. See, I'm see if you do all of these things, then you going to defile your temple. And when you defile your temple, then you got a good standards with the Lord.

You ain't sealed no more. Seal means save, sisters and brothers. You ain't sealed by him no more. So now let's go a little bit further now. Let's go now to 2 Corinthians 6. 2 Corinthians 6 and we going to pick it up at verse 11. Second Corinthians 6 and we going to pick it up at verse 11. 2 Corinthians 6 and we going to pick it up at verse 11. That's why you got to watch your mind. You got to watch it, sisters and brothers. Yes, sir.

You got to watch it. So now let's go. Uh 2 Corinthians 6, pick it up at verse 11. Go ahead, Elder. Oh you Corinthians, go ahead. Our mouth is open unto you. Go ahead. Our heart is enlarged. He said, "Oh Corinthians, our mouth is open unto you." He said, "Our heart is enlarged." Go ahead and read. You are not straightened in us. He said, "You are not straightened in us." Go ahead. But you are straightened in your own bowels. He said, "But you are straightened in your own bowels." Now, because he getting ready to tell us something.

Verse 13. Go ahead. Down for recompense in the same I speak as unto my children. Be ye also enlarged. But what did he tell them to be enlarged that to be enlarged in your mind? The same thing Solomon prayed for. Solomon prayed for an enlargement of heart. That means give me a clean, give me an understanding heart and also give me more understanding about the Bible. So now what did he say at verse 14? Go ahead and read. Be ye not unequally yolked together with unbeliever.

Wait a minute. Now, I didn't write this book. I didn't write this. But what did the Lord He said? Be ye not unequally yolked together with unbelievers. Right? Go ahead and read. For what fellowship have righteousness with unrighteousness? What fellowship had righteousness with unrighteousness? Go ahead and read. And what communion have light with darkness? So what you keep the So what you you call yourself a Israelite? So what you keep the the the laws of Moses? If you ain't coming under the blood of Jesus, then what communion do we have together?

How is you going to be sitting in there on a Sunday church and you know that the Sabbath day is on the on the se on the seventh day, but you sitting off in church on Sunday with the unbelievers, right? Just think about what you read now. He said, don't be together uh yolked together with unbelievers. Go ahead and read 15. And what a concord hath Christ with ba? Or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? Go ahead. And what agreement hath the temple of God with idol?

He said, "And what agreement have the temple of God with idols?" Sisters and brothers, go ahead and read. For ye are the temple of the living God. He said, "For you are the temple of the living God." So if your thoughts, if your thoughts and your reigns are not right, then your temple is not clean, sisters and brothers. He said, he said, "Ye are the temple of the living God." Go ahead and read. As God has said, go ahead. I will dwell in them. That's what he said.

Now, he said, "I will dwell in them." Go ahead. And walk in them. So, how can he dwell in them and walk with them? He didn't say walk with. He said, "I'm going to dwell in you, sisters and brothers." Yes, sir. So, how can the Lord dwell in you when all your thoughts are unclean? Go ahead and read. And I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Go ahead and read. Wherefore come out of out from among them. Go ahead. And be ye saved.

The Bible told you to do that. Now, that's why in Psalms 26, he said, "I have not sinned with vain men. I have not done those things." He said, "Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate." Go ahead and read, "The Lord." See, God said that, not Oadiah. It says, sayeth the Lord. Go ahead. and touch not the unclean thing, and I will receive you and will be a father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, say the Lord Almighty. Say the Lord Almighty, sister.

That's what he said. Cuz you're the temple of the living God. So you can't be dwelling around all the time. You can save them all you want, but now you better be careful who you allowing in your house all the time, sisters and brothers. He said, "Don't be unequally yolked together with unbelievers." Now, that's why we tell you single people, if you don't have a husband or a wife, wait to find you somebody that's in the word of God so you don't be in the house battling over the Bible because eventually you're going to break up.

There's nothing worse than being unequally yolked with a husband or a wife living in the same house. Yeah. Cuz that's the closest person to you, right? So that's why you got to you got to be careful who you marry. Don't just marry nobody because of the way they look or the way that they built. You got to also look at the way that they think and how they act. Yes. That's where it starts. So while you examine them, you need to examine your partner, too. Hey, what's going on?

What you on? You already trying to get at me already. We just met two ladies ago. You already talking about let's meet up. You already know what they about. And most women catch on to that pretty. They already know that. But now, let's go to Proverbs 21. Now, Proverbs 21 and we going to pick it up at verse two. Proverbs 21 and we going to pick it up at verse two. So, that's just something. Don't be on don't be yolked together with no unbeliever. I don't care how they look.

Wait on the Lord and he going to direct your path and your steps. He gonna take care of you. But and but but in that same time, you better be exam and do a daily examination about yourself. I do. And if you fall off, it's okay. Pray to the Lord. Take it to the Lord. Tell him you sorry and get back up. Yes, sir. Because you gonna fall down, sisters and brothers. See, we we got to find a way for us that's actually walking to keep us encouraged in the word as well.

So now, Proverbs 21 and let's pick it up at verse two. Proverbs 21 and verse two. Go ahead and read. Every way of a man is right in his own eyes. Go ahead and read. But the Lord ponderth the hearts. He ponderth the hearts. I try the hard. That's what pondering mean. I'm pondering your heart what's on your mind. You know, every way of a man is right in his own eyes. You always right. That's what you always got to be right. You all and that's the way every man think.

Ain't none of us exempt from that. We all think that we right. And nine times out of 10, you probably have made the wrong decision and you didn't want to listen nobody to tell you that. So every way of a man is right in his own eyes, but the Lord ponderth the hearts. Verse three, go ahead. to do justice and judgment is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice. That's what it is. You can make sacrifices and it ain't nothing wrong with that. We fast last week.

Some people didn't fast. That's okay. Yes, sir. It ain't okay if you don't fast on the day of atonement. Now, you got to fast on that day. But he says to do justice and judgment is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice. So what else? Go ahead and read. And high look. So now this what the Lord hate. Now he said a high look. Go ahead. And a proud heart. a proud heart. So once again, we back to that mind now because I try to hards now.

He said a proud mind. The Lord don't like no proud mind. Go ahead and read. And the plowing of the wicked is said. Go ahead. The thoughts of the diligent tend only to plenteous. So this where your thoughts are supposed to be. He said the thoughts of the diligent now tend only to plenteous. Go ahead and read. But of everyone that is hasty only to one. Oh, everyone that is hasty, only the one. You hasty, you proud in spirit. You got to have it now. You got to have money now.

Maybe God don't want you to have that right now, right? Cuz it might destroy you or take you away from it. So now skip down to verse 16. Verse 16, go ahead and read. The man that wanderth out of the way of understanding, go ahead, shall remain in the congregation of the dead. Say, so basically he said the man that wandered out of the way of understanding shall remain in the congregation of the dead. That means you forsook God. You forsook God. You left him. So now you you want you wandering out of the way of understanding.

So now you going to remain in the congregation of the dead and it's spiritually dead, sisters and brothers. Yes. So now skip down to verse 21 and go ahead. He that followth after righteousness and mercy findeth life. Righteousness and honor. That's when you follow after that. But how do you follow after righteousness and mercy and honor? Where does it start at in your mind? It starts right here. That's what you got to get right. So now let's go a little bit further. Now let's go to Psalms I mean let's go to Hebrews 4.

Hebrews 4. Now you know we got to throw this in because they put this in this week. Let's go to Hebrews 4 and we going to pick it up at verse 9. Hebrews 4 and we going to pick it up at verse 9. That congregation that we read about earlier who God brought out with a high hand and a stretched out arm brought them out on eagle's wings and they still forsook gave them water out of a rock. They still left them. See come down in the fiery in the in the cloud and in the fiery in the fiery pillar at night.

And guess what? They still forsook him. sisters and brothers and God was right in their presence. So now Hebrews 4, Hebrews 4, let's pick it up at verse 9. Hebrews 4:9. Go ahead and read. Therefore remainth, therefore, there remainth therefore a rest to the people of God. There remained therefore rest to the people of God. See, one day the Sabbath is a prelude to the thousand-year millennium period that is to come. That's going to be the rest forever. Once that thousand year millennium period get here, man gonna rest all the way from the seventh day and to infinity because that's what eight mean.

Eight means infinity. So from that point, we going to be at rest. So the people of God, we going to have a rest one day. Verse 10, go ahead. For he that has entered into his rest, for he that has entered into his rest, go ahead. He also has ceased from his own work. Go ahead. As God did from him. So don't come telling me, "Hey man, listen here. You know I need to go work on the Sabbath. I need to do this. No, you don't.

Why would it even come into a servant of God's mind to work on the Sabbath day? Being that you know the truth. It shouldn't even come about. He said, "For he that has entered into his rest, he also has ceased from his own works as God did from his." So now you want to work for something. Read that verse 11. Go ahead. Let us labor therefore to enter into that rest. Let us labor therefore to enter into that rest. You got some work to do and that work to do is for the Lord.

Go ahead and read. List any man fall after the same example of unbelief. Go ahead. For the word of God is quick. He said for the word of God is quick. Go ahead. And powerful and sharper than any who had swore. Go ahead. Perishing even to the dividing the suner of soul and spirit. Go ahead. And of the joints and marorrow. Go ahead. And is a discerner of the thoughts. The tense of the heart. That's what the word of God is, sisters and brothers. That's what it is.

That's what the word of God is. It's two edge. It's powerful. It's piercing even to the divide and the suner of soul and spirit and of the joints and marrow. And it's a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. We've been talking about the heart and the mind all day. That's what the word of God do, sisters and brothers. It's going to find out where your mind is. It's gonna find out where your heart is. So now, keep reading. Verse 13. Go ahead. Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight.

Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight. So ain't man also known as a creature or a beast. If you can go read it in Ecclesiastics 9, it'll tell you that. Go ahead and read. But all things are naked and open to the eyes of him with whom we have to do. It's open unto them. Everything you doing, God watching me, God watching you, he watching everything that we do. And guess what? You ain't getting away with nothing if you doing wrong.

And you ain't getting away with nothing if you doing right. Like I say, God don't like ugly. He ain't too crazy about pretty either. So you better understand that that your righteousness is as filthy rags before the Lord. And that's what's going to keep us in line. Amen, brother. So now let's go to Psalms now. Psalms 44. Psalms 44. And we gonna pick it up at verse one. That's why, you know, hey, you know, I'm trying. I'm listening to the Bible. I'm reading every day. I don't get too happy because I can have the wrong thought in a minute and be right back in trouble with the Lord.

Let's go to Let's go Psalms 44 and pick it up at verse one. We don't need to play with this guys, sisters and brothers. We don't need to play with him at all. He's not a play thing. No, he's not, brother. Psalms 44 and we going to pick it up at verse one. Psalms 44 and we going to pick it up at verse one. Psalms 44 and1. Go ahead and read. We have heard with our ears, oh God. Our fathers have told us what work did thou didest in their days in the times of old.

In the times of old. So if you want to know what God going to do in the future, you got to go back and read the Old Testament, right? Go back and look what he did in the past. Look at what our fathers did. We we we thousands of years past Moses, but we still doing what? We still keeping of the Passover what Moses gave us thousands of years ago. Yeah. See, Jeremiah wrote this book thousands of years ago. Uh uh uh uh Psalms was written thousands of years ago by David.

But we still doing the things that David told us to do. So now verse two, go ahead. How thou did drive out the heathen with thy hand and pleasant them. How thou did afflict the people and cast them out. How he afflicted the people and cast them out. Go ahead. For they got not in they got not the land and possession by their own sword. Go ahead. Neither did their own arm saved. So they didn't get the land by the possession of their own sword. The only thing they did, they marched around Jericho seven times.

And the wall of Jericho fell flat. That's how they got the land. Sisters and brothers. They didn't do it by their own sword. Now once they got the land, the Lord told them to go in and kill every man, woman, child, and animal, everything that they have. And they didn't obey. And that's the only thing that got Joshua in trouble with the Lord. So he said, "For they got not the land into possession by their own sword, neither did their own arms save them." Go ahead and read.

But thy right hand and thine arm, and the light of thy countenance, because thou has a favor unto them. He had a favor unto us, sisters and brothers. That's why we got the lamb. So now, go ahead, pick it up at verse six. Read verse six. Go ahead. For I will not trust in my bow, in my boat, neither shall my sword save me. Go ahead. But thou hast saved us from our enemies, and has put them to shame that hated us. Go ahead. And God we boast all the day long.

Go ahead. And praise thy name forever. Say, and you got it. He said, "In God, we boast all the day long and praise thy name forever." See, like even when it's bad, even when you being chastised, you still got to you still got to give God his praise. Yes, sir. Know I praise him this morning. You know, whatever you did, Lord, you did this to my knee. Thank you for it. You slowed me down. Now, I'mma have to take Jacob limp for a little while. So, now keep reading.

Go ahead. Thou has cast off and put us to shame. That's what he did. He said, "But thou has cast off and has put us to shame." Go ahead. and doest not for thou armies. Thou markst us, thou makest us to turn back from the enemy. Go ahead. And they which hate us spoil for themselves. Go ahead. Thou hast given us like sheep a pointed for me. So yo, Jessica, he said, "Thou makest us to turn back from the enemy, and they which hat spoil for themselves." You know, Edom did that to us.

The the so-called Jews did that. You know, with the night that Whitney, we we talked about Clyde Davis not too long ago. The night that Whitney Houston died, they they they you know, they still had the party that night. They didn't even cancel the party after one of the greatest musicians that ever lived had died. They still had the party. That's why I said about Clyde Davis, let him rest and wrap. Think about Phyllis Heman. Think about NWA. How they put the rap music, the gangster rap in our communities and did all that.

Think about that guy for that. Now, don't show that man no mercy. We've been praying for for enemies destruction throughout this whole. Well, guess what? He was one of them. He was one of them. One of the biggest enemies that we had. We weren't walking around killing everybody to NWA and all of that stuff came out. Well, who do you think was behind that? Who served themselves on us? So, now go ahead and read 11. Go ahead. God has given us like sheep and appointed for me.

Go ahead. and hast scattered us among the heathen. He said, "And has scattered us among the heathen." That's why we in Indianapolis today. Go ahead. Thou sellest thy people for not. Go ahead. And does not increase thy wealth by their price. Go ahead. Thou makeest us as a reproach to our neighbors, a scorn and a derision to them that are round about us. Thou makest us by word among the heathen. Go ahead. A shaking of the head among the people. That's where we are, sisters and brothers.

us as black people or for those that don't know they want to call us African-Americans, but those that are informed, the Hebrew Israelites, this is where we are, sisters and brothers, they see us, they see our young men walking down the street with their phones, pants sagging, and them Gentiles just be shaking their head every time they see us. Every time you see children in trouble in school, there's always children of our color. And well, they what they do, they just shake their head at us, sisters and brothers.

So he made us a bow word among the heathen, a shaking of a head among the people. Verse 15, go ahead. My confusion is continually on me, and the shame of my face have covered me. For the voice of him that reproacheth and blaspheth by reason of the enemy and avenger, go ahead. All this has come upon us. So notice now he said, "All this has come upon us." Go ahead. Yet have we not forgotten thee. Yet have we not forgotten. These are the these are the people that's serving God.

Now we need a little hope, too. He said, "All this has come upon us. Yet have we not forgot forgotten thee." Go ahead. Neither have we dealt falsely in thy covenant. Neither have we dealt falsely in thy covenant. If you walking right, you walking right. It ain't nothing wrong with it. I would love to think that I'm walking right and trying everything that I can to serve the Lord. Amen. So now, keep reading. Go ahead. 18. Our heart is not turned back. Go ahead. Neither have our steps declined from thy way.

Because you get a little hard time, don't let it decline from the Lord. You need to let the hard times make you what draw you closer to God. Amen, brother. If you have problems in your house, you should let that should be the reason to draw you closer to God cuz that's giving you something to look forward to. You get You got something to fix now. You got something to make better right before your eyes. Yes, sir. Go ahead and read 19. Though thou has sword broken us in the place of dragons.

Go ahead. And covered us with the shadow of death. We read about that in Numbers 21. Now he said, "Thou has thou has sword broken us in the place of dragons." That was in the wilderness now and covered us with the shadow of death. That was in the book of Jeremiah when he said, "Don't pray for these people no more." Verse 20. Go ahead. If we if we have forgotten the name of our God or stretched out our hands to a strange God. Have you done that lately?

Have you been keeping the Passover and all of a sudden girl I'm coming over for the Christmas dinner or what y'all have country h? Have you done that? If you ain't done that, then maybe you in good standings with God. You got to look at where you are with the Lord, sisters and brothers. So now keep reading. Go ahead. 21. Shall not God search this out? Listen now. See, he said, "Shall not God search this out?" Go ahead. For he knoweth the secrets of the heart?

For he knoweth the secrets of the heart, sisters and brothers, I know your secrets. I know your thoughts. That's why he gonna try. Is that it? Okay. Now, let's go to Psalms 39. We got one more after this. Let's go to Psalms 139 and we going to pick it up at verse one. Psalms 139 and we going to pick it up at verse one. this, you know, not not only are we here to serve the Lord, but we also here to fix our lives because we ain't straight.

We ain't got it all together. I know I don't. I know I don't. That's the reason why I'm here right now. This ain't no joyous position. It's a slave position because I know if I don't do this, woe unto me. So now, Psalms 139, and we going to pick it up at verse one. Psalms 139 and one. Go ahead and read. Oh Lord, thou hast searched me and known me. See, that's how you want to be. Now he said, "Oh Lord, thou has searched me and known me." Go ahead.

Thou knowest my down city. Go ahead. And my uprising. Go ahead. Thou understand my thought a far off. He understand everything about you, sisters and brothers. Yes, sir. All the hairs on your head are counted on your beard. Wherever it's at. Wherever at. He know how many numbers is there. He said, he said, "For thou knowest by down sitting and my uprising. Thou understand that my thoughts are far off." Verse three, go ahead. Thou compass my path and my lying down. Go ahead. And acquaintance with all my ways.

You hear what he said, sisters and brothers. He acquainted with all your ways. Yes, sir. Everything Everything about you, he already know. He know what make you sad, what make you mad. He know what make you tick. And he know the things that if you don't watch it that he that you that you will turn away from it. That's why you got to keep your mind stayed on it. So now verse four. Go ahead. Now read that verse four. Verse four. Go ahead. Yes, sir. For there is not a word in my tongue.

Go ahead. But lo, oh Lord, go ahead. Thou knowest it all together. He said, for there is not a word in my tongue, but lo, oh Lord, thou knowest it all together. That's why I'm scared to cuss now. I know if Jesus was sitting beside me, I would not use him at all. I wouldn't use that word. If the Lord sitting beside me, right? So he know he know everything. He even know how you're talking. Let's So now verse seven, go ahead and read. Shall I go from thy spirit?

Go ahead. Or whether shall I flee from thy presence? Go ahead. He said, "Whether shall I go from thy spirit or whether shall I flee from thy presence?" Go ahead. If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there. If I send up into heaven, thou art there. Go ahead. If I make my bed in hell, go ahead. Behold, thou art there. If I make my bed in hell, that's the grave s brother. He said, "Behold, thou art there." Go ahead. If I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, go ahead.

Even there shall thy hand lead me and thy right hand shall hold me. Go ahead. If I say surely the darkness shall cover me, even the night shall be light about me. He said that's why I say you ain't getting away. He see everything about it. I see you. I see what you're doing. He said if I say surely the darkness shall cover me, even the night shall be light about me. Go ahead and read. 12. Yay. The darkness hideth not from thee, but the night shineth as the day.

The darkness and the light are both a light to demon. So what you doing in the dark gonna come to the light. What them old people used to say, what you do in the dark gonna come to the light. That's the truth, sisters and brothers. Yes, sir. But see, it's in the light right now with the Lord. It might be in the dark with man, but see God know all of it. So now he said, he said, go ahead and read 13. For thou has possessed my reign.

He said, for thou has possessed my reigns. Now go ahead. Thou hast covered me in my mother's womb. He even knew you when you was in your mother's womb, sisters and brothers. That's right. Everything about you, God knew. Yes, sir. So now, let's go to the last spot. Let's go to Revelations 2 now. Revelations 2. Revelations 2 and we going to pick it up at verse 16. Revelations 2 and we going to pick it up at verse 16. This is the last spot. Revelations 2 and let's pick it up at verse 16.

So now verse 16, go ahead and read. Repent or else I will come unto you to thee quickly and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth. Go ahead. He that have an ear, let him hear what the spirit saith unto the churches, go ahead. To him that overcomemeth will I give to eat of the hidden man. Notice what he said now. Because he said, he that had the ear, let him hear what the spirit said unto the churches. To him that overcomemeth will I give to eat of the hidden man matter.

Overcome is when you die. You can be saved now. Yes, you can be sealed. That's what seal mean. Look it up. Seal means save. You can be a son or a daughter of God. Now, that's why you say uh lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. In order to do that, you save. That's what the seal mean. You can take a bag of potato chips. That bag of potato chips is sealed. That means that it is possessed by you until you open and eat it.

But now, when he talking about overcoming, now he is talking about the spiritual body. Now, you get that when you die. So now he that had an ear, let him hear what the spirit said unto the churches. To him that overcome it will I give to eat of the hidden matter. What else is he going to give him? Go ahead. And will give him a white stone. I will give him a white stone. Go ahead. And in the stone a new name written. And in the stone a new name written.

Go ahead. Which no man know he that receiveth it. And unto the angel of the church of thyra. Right. These things sayith the son of God who have his eyes like unto a flame of fire and his feet are like fine breath. So I'm understanding one thing about all of the spirit realm. They all got a fiery appearance to them. That's why his eyes was like fire. You know that's why he had he going to have thunder at his feet. When you see all of the angels they associated with fire and they associated with thunder.

See that's the spiritual realm sisters and brothers. That's why I said his eyes was like unto a flame of fire. Go ahead and read 19. Go ahead. I know thy works and charity and service and faith and thy patience and thy works. Go ahead. And the last to be more than the first. Go ahead. Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee because thou suffers that woman Jezebel was called herself a prophetist to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication. Go ahead. And to eat things, sacrifice unto idol.

So now we not going to go into we got a lesson on the seven churches. We not going to worry about explaining this today. But those people was following the same doctrine that Jazel had taught years ago. The Gentiles was dealing with it now. So they was teaching to seduce my servants, to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols. But now verse 21, go ahead. And I gave her space to repent. I gave her space to repent. go ahead of her fornication and she repented not.

Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds. Go ahead. And I will kill her children with death, and all the churches shall know that I and he searchth the reigns and hearts. He said, I'm he which searchth the rain and hearts. Go ahead and read. And I will give unto everyone of you according to your word. And that is I the Lord search the horn I try to raise. I hope you guys understand.

Thank y'all for your time. Thank y'all so much. Thank y'all. Thank y'all. One lady up here. Yes sir. So we going to call our beautiful elder to come up here and read the law. That's a good fit. Oh yeah. That's a good one. Exodus uh 20 verses 1-1 17. And God spake all these words, saying, I am the Lord thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. Thou shalt have no other gods before me. Thou shall not make unto thee any graven image or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above or that is in the earth beneath or that is in the water under the earth.

Thou should not bow down thyelves to them, nor serve them. For I, the Lord thy God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, unto the third and fourth generations of them that hate me, and showing mercy unto thousands of them that love me and keep my commandments. Thou shall not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless, and taketh his name in vain. Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy.

Six days shall thou labor and do all thy work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord thy God. In it thou shall not do any work. Thou nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy man's servant, nor thy maid servant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates. For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day. Wherefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day, and hallowed. Amen. Honor thy father and thy mother, that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.

Thou shall not kill. Thou shall not commit adultery. Thou shalt not steal. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor. Thou shall not coveret thy neighbor's house. Thou shall not coveret thy neighbor's wife, nor his man's servant, nor his maid servant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor anything that is thy name, Jesus. Okay, y'all.
